SAM AND DEAN ARE REUNITED AFTER A YEAR APART — Dean (Jensen Ackles) re-emerges from Purgatory, but he isn’t alone. He heads straight for Sam (Jared Padalecki), but the reunion isn’t exactly what he thought it would be. Sam drops everything to join his brother, but leaving the life he had grown to enjoy turns out to be harder than he imagined. Dean and Sam look for Kevin (guest star Osric Chau) who has managed to escape Crowley’s (guest star Mark Sheppard) grasp, but things come to a head quickly when Kevin tells them what it is that Crowley wants. Robert Singer directed the episode written by Jeremy Carver (#802).

Agh. Scared plus excited!
ReplyDeleteBUT I NEED THIS SHOW BACK, PLEASE.
Cas is my baby on this show and I know from misha that's he's not in the premiere but at least a mention? I don't like how the boys keep forgetting him and all that. :/ sorry I'll shut up now. Cause not everyone likes cas.
ReplyDeleteCas first appears in episode 2. He is mentioned in the premiere.
ReplyDeleteCan not wait!
ReplyDeleteI love that Robert is directing the first episode. I like his directorial work. He's the glue! Plus, we get Crowley right away.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Sam is using an alias in this new life of his?
ReplyDeleteIt's a 4 sentence episode synopsis (not season synopsis) that deals only with the highlights of what seems to be an overly packed premiere. I'm sure they will mention Cas in the second episode synopsis and in many more.
ReplyDeleteNothing new that we didn't get from the promo but still awesome. Ah I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure I'm more anxious for episode 2 though.
probaly
ReplyDeleteCarver-Singer premiere punch. That should show us where we are heading for season 8. The biggest shock so far to me is that Kevin manages to escape Crowley so quickly. I mean Crowley is the King of Hell. You'd think he'd have hell's best guarding the only person who can get him what he wants most of all. I don't care how many AP classes you take or how smart you are, you shouldn't be able to out-manipulate the King of Manipulation. I really hope they give a good, reasonable explanation of this instead of just pushing past it. Also happy but not surprised at all that Sam drops everything at Dean's return. Even more happy that the season quest arc starts right from the beginning.
ReplyDeletesame here this description is a little vague cause we already know the info from the premiere the 2nd episode press release should reveal more
ReplyDeletedont underestimate Kevin he's a prophet
ReplyDeletewhile hes in the episode he may not be mentioned in the press release caue he only appears through flashbacks for right now
ReplyDeleteWhy did Kevin stop for a haircut after getting away from Crowley?
ReplyDeleteUnless he let Kevin escape cause he learned Dean was out and let him beliebe he escaped on his own?? Maybe he had a hard time finding the power or whatever they need to close to Door of hell and he want the boys to found it so Crowley can come and steal it under their noses....just guessing^^;
ReplyDeleteLike Chuck. Well, Chuck could have had Mistress Magda whip some ass.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait!
ReplyDeleteIsn't Castiel only like mentioned (Once) in the first episode?
..THIS EPISODE WILL BE ..AWESOME BY FACT
ReplyDeleteKevin's smart. That has nothing to do with being a prophet. He may have figured something out that allowed him to sneak away or something.
ReplyDeleteMaybe he didn't just escape that very day?
ReplyDeleteAhhh!!! Sounds really good!!! So excited!!! =D
ReplyDeleteFrom Crowley? He's too anal. Unless someone went rogue on him which I could see happening. Or maybe Meg.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I don't think he appears until episode 2.
ReplyDeleteSorry, my sarcasm doesn't seep through very well with a keyboard. I just think he may have more important things on his mind. I know if I escaped from Crowley I'm not wasting time on vanity. Since he is smart he would know changing his appearance wouldn't help. Maybe he had other work and needed to cut it for that.
ReplyDeleteI thought the same thing. But then I thought someone could turn rogue or just strike out on their own like in the Becky episode. Maybe Meg helps him.
ReplyDeleteMaybe they resurrect Bela! YES! THAT"S IT!
BWAAAAHHHH!!!! Best comment in ages. Perhaps Crowley fancies that haircut and made him get it in hell.
ReplyDeleteNow that is an awesome theory. That makes total sense for Crowley's personality and I could see him taking a big gamble as a way to manipulate the final stages of the quest. Kudos! I'm going with this theory until proven wrong in the episode.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking he would have to. He still looks very familiar to that other Sam Winchester that died in a multi-state murder spree and drives the same type of car.
ReplyDeleteWell Chuck couldn't do much against the angels so I'm not sure an unprotected Kevin can do much against the King of Hell. Of course, if some of the remaining angels help him break out that would make sense. Of course that would bring more angels into the story so for now I'm going with Megan's theory. Besides I don't think the angels would be very excited to share Kevin with the Winchesters anyway. They have a mutual hate thing going these days.
ReplyDeleteSomehow I think Crowley would enjoy a visit from Mistress Magda and together they would make sure Kevin stayed wherever he was taken.
ReplyDeleteDo we know for sure if he's still driving the Impala or did he store it?
ReplyDeleteI can see a demon trying to take over Crowley's position trying to use Kevin as leverage. That's definitely a good possibility. Not so much Meg. That would mean that she would have to escape Crowley herself, then locate Kevin and get them both away safely. Since Meg seems to be second only to Cas on Crowley's hit list, my guess is that she is heavily guarded too and probably in a much worse place.
ReplyDeleteAwesome!!!!! :D
ReplyDeleteI buy he's very smart. I don't buy that he's smart enough to outwit Crowley if Crowley really wants him. If they try to make it so that a kid with no previous hunting or spy experience except being taken by Leviathans can not only outsmart Crowley but also manage to elude him for long enough to get in contact with the Winchesters and stay off of all demons' radar until he can reunite with them, they better give him some massive help. I will never buy that AP can do all of that on his own unless it's a trap.
ReplyDeleteUm if they resurrect Bela, Jeremy Carver may want to duck and change all known addresses. I loved Bela but I think there would be a riot in Vancouver if she came back. Besides I'm not sure Kevin handle Bela.
ReplyDeleteWe don't know for sure but tweets from Suzanne Gomez yesterday make me 90% sure that Sam is driving it. Or at least Dean seems concerned about a dog having been in her.
ReplyDeleteSo he wouldn't fit in at cello practice.
ReplyDeleteKind of like Jack Bauer. (Sorry. Slogging through eight seasons of 24 on Netflix)
ReplyDeleteDamn good detective work, Megan! From the preview it looks like one tablet is in a museum of sorts. Maybe the tablets have some kind of warding spell (Yes I love RPG's) to keep demons away from them.
ReplyDeleteI don't know. Crowley is smart but he's not that smart. Sam and Dean have outwitted him a time or two, and I'm willing to bet that Kevin is at least as smart as they are.
ReplyDeleteI don't think there's much reason to be concerned, since this is just a press release, but you don't have to shut up. Plenty of people like Cas, even if this particular site has become kind of an echo chamber with the Cas hate.
ReplyDeleteDean and Sam have grown up in the supernatural world, a world where lying and other non-suburban skills are not only commonplace but also necessary to live. Kevin seemed like a very sheltered book smart kid from the 'burbs. Dean and Sam also had very knowledgeable and sometimes very powerful friends the entire time they took on Crowley. Kevin has no one that we know of. If someone else helps him escape I will buy it but not if he does it on his own.
ReplyDeleteIt seems pretty clear they will have to get more than just one tablet or the tablet tells them what else they need. This search could definitely take 3 seasons which sounds awesome to me. I'm not sure if there's a warding spell or not but it does seem clear that Kevin is the only one who can read it. Makes me wonder how Crowley was going to know if Kevin was translating it clearly or not. Do the demons now have Kevin's mom instead of the Leviathans? It would make sense that she would be Crowley's second stop but he also seemed hesitant to mess with those guys, Dick Roman or not.
ReplyDeleteBrains can make up for a lot of lack of experience, besides which, Kevin has already shown his adaptability through his actions in the finale. He's clearly very smart and highly observant, which would be useful in formulating a plan to escape. To me it seems not terribly out of the realm that faced with the dire situation of being a prisoner of the King of Hell, he'd buck up, and put his brain power to good use.
ReplyDelete''I'm going with this theory until proven wrong in the episode.'' ;) Not pressure on me than?
ReplyDeleteWe'll have to agree to disagree on this one because if a normal albeit smart teenager with no experience can outwit the King of Hell, I doubt that person would be King of Hell for very long. There are probably thousands of demons waiting to take Crowley's place. If Crowley was that easy to maneuver against, he would not have stayed in power for as long as he has.
ReplyDelete;P Not SPN related but since there's no place at all to talk about it on Spoilertv; Are you excited too for Heartland premiere this sunday?
ReplyDeletegood thinking, why would Crowley do the work when he can have the Winchesters do it for him?
ReplyDeleteI'm not thrilled to hear how much Sam had grown to enjoy his life without Dean, but I'm glad he's okay. Definitely better than in season 4.
ReplyDeleteYay, reunion! Poor Dean! A year in purgatory! But hey, he managed to find his own way out (with some help of course)!
Also well done Kevin! He escaped!
I like the fact that Sam has grown to enjoy his life. He's always been
ReplyDeletemore adaptable than Dean, so it doesn't surprise me that at this point
in his life (long after Mystery Spot) that Sam has found that he can
find some sense of a life with his brother gone. Of course we all know,
it ain't that perfect in the SPN world. Nothing will ever be easy for
these guys, but I'm looking forward to seeing how Sam copes with still
wanting that life he had grown used to, while also needing to help Dean
(and the issues we know Dean will be bringing with him with his unwanted
vamp pal from Purgatory LOL!) Bring on Season 8!
I am so glad they are using a little realism this season much to many fans chagrin. The fact that Sam couldn't do anything so decided to start a new life at age 30 after an entire life of hell on earth and real hell, that makes the most sense and I'm so glad he did it. Of course I want the guys together and the fact that Sam drops everything even though he doesn't want to hopefully will minimize the hate posts after the episode. I fear that that won't happen though.
ReplyDeleteI have liked most of Jeremy Carver's eps, looking forward to this one and getting my favorite show back on track.
ReplyDeleteHa! I always go into the new season with half a dozen theories on different points. Inevitably they all turn out wrong so no pressure on you at all. Just me living through past experience.
ReplyDeleteHmm... I'm suspicious of Kevin escaping from Crowley. That doesn't seem like something Crowley would allow to happen, unless he has something up his sleeve (most likely). I don't really like how they worded "Sam drops everything to join his brother"... like joining Dean again is some burden for Sam. IDK.
ReplyDeleteI'm having a weird case of déjà vu... maybe if I watch an episode of season 1 right after watching the new episodes I'll feel better...
ReplyDeleteMaybe Crowley gave him a haircut. Maybe Crowley'll kidnap Sam and cut his hair too! Those demon barbers get the job done. Maybe in Hell after you wait in line for an eternity then you go to get your haircut and ask for just a trim, get rid of the split ends and whatnot and instead they chop off all your hair and show it to you, but you are in hell and your hair will never grow again, an eternity with a hair cut you hate. Crowley is devious, man.
ReplyDeleteCome to think of it, the demons always have that "high and tight" look as Crowley usually does. (When he's not trying to grow a beard.)
ReplyDeleteWell, that was pretty underwhelming. "Channing"'s acting was terrible and her death expected. It also looked like they dumbed Crowley down to make escaping him (twice!) possible. The whole thing bored me, except for Sam's hair and stubble, bloody!Purgatory!Dean, and the absence of Bobby and Castiel (sorry, I know they're beloved, but I feel like they are way too overused and should have been permanently killed off ages ago). Oh, and how intently Dean stared at that vending machine; for a minute, I thought that was going to trigger traumtic flashbacks to Purgatory, which would've been stupidly hilarious.
ReplyDelete
