Great stuff guys, looking forward to listening to this later.
ReplyDeleteYou must have recorded this before you saw the Revolution ratings.
ReplyDeleteYeah, we recorded it a few nights ago. I'm glad it's had a good start :)
ReplyDeleteI believe Animal practice, the new normal and mob Doc are the first to bite the cancel bullet and Revolution will be the first offer of a full season if it hasn't already.
ReplyDeleteBased on the first 3 eps I would recommend 'Go On' for comedy fans, it isn't as 'quirky' as say Community but it has an interesting set of characters and well the most important thing is it makes me laugh.
ReplyDeleteAnother comedy which is very charming if not laugh out loud funny is Ben & Kate.
Based on the pretty damn great pilot I would also recommend Last Resort, really can't wait to see how this develops.
So far I really think that Animal Practice should be canceled.
ReplyDeleteHey guys, happy to see that you're back. I haven't watched any pilot yet, but just looking at the promos, I'm not too excited with the shows.
ReplyDeleteAnyway from your list I want to watch Nashville, Emily Owens MD, Arrow maybe Beauty and the Beast, Elementary and Chicago Fire. And I really hope at least half of the other shows get cancelled.
Podcast was good as usual! I'm excited to listen to your opinion when the fall season really starts .. What shows are you most excited to watch the return?
Mari - @oblogdamari
the only show i know by fact will be cancel soon....THE BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
ReplyDeleteEverything on CW LOL Each worse than the other
ReplyDeleteEmily Owens MD - "It looks bad." That is an understatement. A medical drama rewritten as a high school drama complete with mean girls and crushes. Egad, how did this even get to pilot stage?
ReplyDeleteBeauty and the Beast - I'm only watching this one because I promised myself to support 2 CW shows for at least 3 episodes and it's the lesser of the evils with Emily Owens. Not sure I can stand Kreuk for that long.
Arrow - The only new CW show with real promise. It seems jam-packed with action and fast paced. I hope it ends up being the biggest show on the CW next year. Quite frankly it needs to be.
Go On - The best balanced of any of the others from what I've seen.
Animal Practice - The first episode was terrible. Won't watch the second.
Revolution - I have a whole lot more hope for Revolution than you do. Mostly because I don't think sci fi will last on network TV if it doesn't go well. I think the ratings are going to nose dive for two but I hope they flatten out relatively high.
No way the CW cancels Beauty and the Beast right away. They can't afford to. My bet is that Beauty and the Beast goes the whole season although it may not be renewed for a second season.
ReplyDeleteABC: 666 Park Avenue and Nashville renew. Last Resort is almost there, but I think it will have a strong pilot then go downhill from there. Everything else cancel.
ReplyDeleteCW: Arrow renew. Beauty 2 seasons tops (and that is REALLY pushing it), and Emily Owens looks quirky but too much of a Scrubs copycat to get a big audience. So my choice cancel those two.
CBS: Vegas and Elementary renew. The other two, well cancel Made in Jersey for sure, and Partners will go one season then get canceled. The promos haven't showed me anything really promising about it.
Fox: Hard to say. I like the Mob Doctor, so I am going to choose to renew that. I don't know about the other other two so in the middle. Don't know how far they can stretch those plots and make decent episodes.
NBC: Go On renew and maybe Chicago Fire. Everything else cancel. Revolution just doesn't do it for me, and I tried REALLY hard to like it for Elizabeth Mitchell.
Do you think Cult looks worse than Emily Owens too, or did your promise to yourself just exclude midseason shows?
ReplyDeleteIt was only for the fall premieres. I'm still hoping Cult will be awesome despite early reviews. I would love for the CW to take such a big gamble and to score well with it. I'm concerned about the CW's viability as a network so I have high hopes for all its new shows. To be honest, I'm not all that excited about Carrie Diaries either but I'll give it a couple episodes. I hear the acting is phenomenal.
ReplyDeleteI had forgotten all about The Carrie Diaries... But apart from that, I completely agree with you.
ReplyDeletewhen we the viewers see that first episode and saw all invented crap the writers will try to pull of to make us follow that disaster and see all the opinions I am complete sure only one season of life if they don’t continue filming
ReplyDeleteFrom what I'm hearing, Carrie Diaries and Arrow are the two potential hits for the CW. Everything else is worthy of cancellation.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I'm hearing also. I hope that they are just bad pilots and the second and third episodes will be big turnarounds. The CW desperately need ratings. I just don't see them lasting past 2016 if they don't score big (for them) this year. I actually wouldn't mind if the CW disappeared but if it goes so does Supernatural and that I would mind a lot. I want it to have 10 seasons.
ReplyDeleteGosh I really hope Revolution does well. Just watched the second episode and I'm really enjoying it. I don't want to get my hopes up because networks love to be quick to hit that cancel button, but I am really rooting for this show.
