  5. Just finished! I did really like it! I thought it was great for a pilot -It sets up everything so well. There are TONS of Lost references. I think the actors are still finding their footing, but despite that, I think they are likable. Esposito was really great! The action sequences were reminiscent of Pirates of the Caribbean. I liked that none of the characters are perfect. They're deliciously flawed. I really liked "Danny". He's one of the first teens on TV that despite his one problem, you can see the young man in him and he doesn't come off like a completely helpless boy. I like Charlie too (very Sydney Bristow at times), but I could see how she could rub some people the wrong way. Aaron is also great. He clearly is our Charlie Pace/Hugo/Flankman- character, who's not physically savy, but he is def a knowledgeable very caring guy. The cinematography was good the whole way through. The Music has some touches of Giachhino's scores, though it is not by Giachhino. It goes by pretty fast too! --If they can keep the character development and story lines up, I don't see why people wouldn't take a shine to it.

  6. Awesome!

Thanks for the quick review. Hopefully it will "appear" somewhere where we can all watch :)

    ReplyDelete
  7. do you mean to say its only for U.S.?

    ReplyDelete
  8. No. NBC block all non-USA viewers

    ReplyDelete
  9. For those who can't watch it just get the Firefox Add-On "Modify Headers", works like a charm (despite it being Firefox :P)

    ReplyDelete
  10. yep! Did it work for you (from outside us)?

    ReplyDelete
  11. I really liked it and will definitely keep watching!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Hopefully they'll add it to iTunes in 1080p for free like they did with The New Normal pilot shortly after they posted it online :)

    ReplyDelete
  13. Sure! I wish everyone could see it. I hate that these things get blocked. I think it would do the show some good to get world exposure early...

I am still going to do the recap/speculation article. I was just going to wait till it aired. --Although really there's only a little bit more left that I think hadn't been exposed to us, so I think if you liked the trailers/promos, you would like the first episode, but it was still nice to see it all together and get a sense of how it could flow.

  14. Cool, sounds good. Looking forward to reading it :)

  15. No! The Observers are coming to put you on 'lock down' and they're going to through you in some old underground half/frozen military bunker on some Island somewhere along with their pet LSD-ed and genetically modified talking polar bear named, Walter, in another universe, and force you and some evil crazy witch who likes to friends with smoke monsters, to watch the Revolution Pilot over and over and over on a loop, dudette!

  16. Hahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so glad you liked it,can't wait to see it myself! Unfortunately i need to go out and 2 days ago my computer started acting funky.I ran a virus checker and of course it found some, ugh! So needless to say Ken will be doing his voodoo on it,when its done i'll check it out...or maybe i'll just hijack his, yeah, that's the ticket, besides his is a 17 inch!

If you haven't seen the gag reels go...go now!! They are great! :)

    ReplyDelete
  17. That was great. The messages back and forth on the computer felt like the typewriter scenes from Fringe.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I thought it was great and it made me want to see episode 2. Lots of plots developing and loads of intrigue.... nice!!

    ReplyDelete
  19. We have to watch it on nbc.com or on Spoilertv.com?

  24. I really liked Captain Neville, He's very "simmering" IMO. I also liked Nate too, even though he's obviously our main protagonists love interest and nemesis at the same time, but I am hoping we get quite a bit more of him and how he ended up with the Militia... And even the brief scenes of Bass Monroe were interesting, since we can speculate with the final scenes that the Monroe Republic has/had a hand in the black out one way or another.

  27. I have just watched the full pilot and it works fine here, on SpoilerTV, but I also had to block 1935 local port (use your firewall).

    ReplyDelete
  28. Can somebody upload it somewhere else or upload a torrent?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Sorry, we don't post links to illegal downloads/torrents I'm afraid and anyone who does gets banned.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I know, but I'm from Europe and I really want to watch it.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Works like a charm, thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Someone earlier posted a link to a firefox extension that you can use to watch it.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Its not working for me! I don't know why :(

    ReplyDelete
  34. Do you mean from outside U.S.A.? Can you just tell me how to do that? Did you watch it on your Google Chrome or Fox?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Ok, I love the title screen... It's like a glitchy version of the original SPN opening... :P

    ReplyDelete
  36. Firefox is too slow.. Is there a similar extension for Chrome?

    ReplyDelete
  37. You need not post the link, but just tell me, if torrent is available yet for the show?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Sounds awesome! I'm really looking forward to it even more now! Always love your insights! :)

    ReplyDelete
  39. It's also a little reminiscent of POI (but obviously electrically opposite)

    ReplyDelete
  40. Definately...Grace seems a little Beatrice Klugh to me (:

    ReplyDelete
  41. Aww Thanks! It's always hard to give reviews, because we all have different expectations, but I think if you're someone who generally likes Bad Robot (and you're not fuming from LOST), you will be reminded of the works pretty immediately. It's true, like a lot of Pilots, some of the dialogue is a little off, or forced, but I think that's pretty normal. But considering a pilot is suppose to give you taste of the characters and set up our initial plot, I think it succeeds very well. I can kind of tell they tried hard to make what could be a bit of a complicated situation easy to follow and get into.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Just want to let Time Warner Cable users in the US know that the Pilot i also available (even in HD) on Primetime on Demand under NBC! (So you can watch it on your TV too!)

    ReplyDelete
  43. Ok, that was a pretty good pilot. It set things up well, had a fair amount of action and wasn't like super-exposition loaded or anything. I loved the line "You're gonna have to dial it back" lol for the whole "OMG we're family, you have to help me get us all killed" lol

The action was well-choreographed, the dialogue wasn't too bad and generally succinct, and the set pieces were really nice. I hope that stays the same way throughout the series and we don't see low quality sets in the 2nd episode or something.

I like the cast, even though the lead Charlie is a bit too much, Danny was a generally decent teenager with only one really "WTF are you doing you idiot?" scene...

Giancarlo Esposito is a force, and while his character isn't as quietly calculated or terrifying as Gus Fring, seeing him quickly put down a village with a few choice gunshots and his tracking ability, he still shines. Billy Burke is also pretty great in this as well. He's great at action scenes apparently. I liked him on The Closer, and I think he's a good lead character in general.

    ReplyDelete
  44. First impressions....
    - Mediocre actress in a very annoying cliched lead role.
    - Sub-par fight scene / really bad action scenes in general.
    - Good performances from the guest actors who will not be on screen as much sadly.
    - Captain Neville is a good character.
    - Fun and humorous Aaron character.
    - Miles makes for an interesting antihero.
    - Very predictable plot most of the time.

The power outage is an intriguing premise that needs some more explanation, although that will come over time

Half of the characters are entertaining, but the other half are very cliched. Hopefully the characters evolve fast and quit being walking cliches. It's not uncommon to show seemingly cliche archetypes in a pilot and then expand and flesh out the characters to make them unique in the upcoming episodes....Hopefully they will stop with the naive and sassy kids and become something more than walking cliches that pose for the camera after shooting someone like Charlie. After that pose I was half expecting her to do a 2-step pivot turn and sashay down the hall.

Having Monroe be the good friend of Miles is a nice plot device.... although yet another cliche. If the writing improves I can overlook the cliches more easily.

Hopefully the fight scenes improve. They were just
terrible. Bad from the choreography to the fight tactics of the militia to the hyper-edited quick cuts (sped up possibly?) to the inaccurate militia gunmen. Amazing how every shot hit the small object in front of their target. Guns are a rarity, so is it wrong to assume that the men with guns are given said guns because they can actually hit a target? XD

I actually would have liked to see more of the immediate time period after the power off event. Not only was Charlie less annoying then, but we had quality actors with better material in a more interesting situation to me. I'm sure we will get more flashbacks. They were the best part of the pilot for me honestly.

Overall it was a decent pilot episode. Maybe a B- or C+ grade wise.
Room to grow into an interesting series, but it was unimpressive in many ways too.

    ReplyDelete
  45. VERY Lost-like indeed!

Although this pilot was not nearly as intriguing as Lost. Not as good quality wise as far as writing and acting go either.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I took Aaron as a Steve Wozniak type! XD
I kept waiting to see his backpack full of gadgets.....

    ReplyDelete
  47. Also on Comcast OnDemand.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I thought it was pretty Solid, some parts I found predictable but it still drew me in. I will be sticking around for at least ep 2 i hope it gets better. I just hope we are able to get answers and they dont drag things out.

    ReplyDelete
  49. His is a 17 inch... Am I the only one who read that wrong? xD

    ReplyDelete
  50. I love bad robot shows and movies! And lost didn't leave me with a bad taste at all, I was really happy with how it ended. :)

Your insight and thoughts are usually a lot like mine. But then again we also like a lot of the same shows. At least you have the advantage of watching it as it airs. ;)

But because of that your insights/reviews usually get me a lot more excited about a show. Like you did with lost, fringe and Alcatraz.

Also when your comments about once are a bit negative I usually won't watch the episode until a week later! xD

    ReplyDelete
  51. Poland :) just read that:
http://cynicsunlimited.com/2010/03/28/using-firefox-and-modify-headers-plugin-to-view-blocked-video-streams/ it's explained well. Only Firefox. Watch it through SpoilerTV (the player above), not on nbc.com. And you may have to block local port 1935. Google how to do it, because it depends on your firewall and OS.:)

  52. When Maggie was stitching up Miles, I immediately thought about Kate and Jack :) So there's more of that stuff here :)

  53. I think if they would have the kids be total perfect adults, it wouldn't be realistic at all. As Kripke has described, Charlie is our Dorothy Gale, (and much like Sydney Bristow) she is a character who goes into this story hot-blooded, gold-hearted, somewhat capable, but naive/sheltered....as Michael Vaughn had to point out to Sydney in one of the first episodes dealing with the real FORCE and size of SD-6, It's not about cutting an arm of the monster. It's about killing the monster..

There are plenty of times where Sydney made some rather impulsive decisions, which sometimes was helpful to her, but other times dangerous. I think it will be no different here, except I think it's way more excusable, since Charlie wasn't pre-trained in a military experiment, nor was she recruited by a military/terrorist group, and Charlie is a bit younger.
I found Danny to be likable too, because despite he didn't listen to his father, he is hot-tempered and resouceful. He wasn't afraid to face Neville, nor wasn't he resourceful enough to escape, but he has medical issue which is going to make it hard for him to live in this world. Ben Rogers is build, not nerdy, and I see something [young] Jacob-esqu in his temperament.
Don't get me wrong. It would be annoying if it's always 'the kids' getting into trouble and doing the wrongs things, but I hopeful, like most Bad Robot shows all of the characters are going to do good and bad and stupid things, because that is what being human is, a continuous "learning experience". I think that Sprirdokas had to show a lot of emotions in a really short time, and perhaps that made her come off a little to enthusiastical, but I think she wasn't bad, just needs to find her footing, like many of them do.

I agree totally about everything else. Zak Orth was great and I love that he and Billy Burke are Fringe season 1 guest alumni and are leading here!

    ReplyDelete
  54. No word about Danny? I wanted him die from the very beginning... It might be one of the most annoying characters (+ casting) I've ever seen.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I followed the guide posted by berta.

    ReplyDelete
  56. He's got the Hugo (big guy who cares alot), Charlie Pace (likes good music, and perhaps doesn't look so capable), and Marshall Flankmen/Astrid Farnsworth (is a really amazing science-tech guy) who is very supporting and a friendly reminder of what should be important to the cast (and viewers)

    ReplyDelete
  57. Aw come on! Will they make it available for us outside the USA? I'm DYING here!

    ReplyDelete
  58. I am actually rewatching ONCE now and more and more I love it. At first I was a bit skeptical, because I wasn't expecting it to feel and have things that I love in Bad Robot works, that it most certainly does. The initial premise just didn't sit with me, because I thought it was going to be 'A Disney Show' that didn't have complicated relationships, but they really created beautiful dynamics between the realities, let alone it seems they also took material and philosophical ideas from the original tales, as well as later adaptations, and I feel like it just keeps getting better all the time. (:

    ReplyDelete
  60. I want to see it!! I'm from Brazil...

    ReplyDelete
  61. I didn't really care for it. The only one I like is the bad guy.
    Charlie is just *facepalm*.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I understand your point, but I see it differently.... I don't see it being about being a perfect adult or military tactics I guess.... It was her insufferable whining and one-note performance..

When I was young I disliked Dorothy too and never was a fan of Wizard of Oz. I thought the movie was silly, did not care for the books, and Dorothy just annoyed me in both mediums! I can appreciate a little bit more as an adult (still not nearly a fan) if I look at it as being campy and out-dated.... Maybe that will be a problem if the character is based on her. XD
Growing up in a world where the militia does what it wants and dangerous groups of bandits rape, kill and pillage I would expect the kids to not be so naive. Especially considering Charlie's dad was one of the few people "in the know".
Who threatens armed men with guns - who can call more armed men with guns - with a crossbow? To me it did not show Danny was willing to stand up to the militia so much as it showed he has no common sense. It wasn't brave it was stupid. His character is not bad overall though, just one dumb move which is something people do from time to time.
In a violent dystopian world where danger is around every corner, today's trendy attitudes (cocky, whiny etc) would get you killed. It is a different thing altogether from being naive and snarky in today's world.
If Sprirdokas' performance (or how they write Charlie) does not drastically improve in a few episodes I probably will not keep watching. It is that bad to me. I would be rooting for her character to be killed every chance I could and be disappointed every time she lived.
It was so annoying they even felt they had to mock it within the series! XD
Much like Miles Matheson, if Charlie doesn't dial it back I will not be going on the journey with her.

    ReplyDelete
  63. She is surely in the running for most annoying new character of the season.

    ReplyDelete
  64. When she did the family speech and then E online compared her character to Dean, im like oookkkkk. lol

    ReplyDelete
  65. Yes, I do agree with that. Very similar. the glitches, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Well I guess by comparison to his siter I was okay with him and the actor's performance. Although I think we would have been better served if Danny dies, Ben Matheson lived and was taken by the Monroe Militia. We would have had a better actor and a character that knew what happened in the past would be alive.

Honestly though. All the adults are capable actors if not great.... it's the teens that are lacking. The militia heartthrob spy was such a cliche I could not even get to his performance since the character was so bad.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Plot twist: Uncle Miles "accidentally" brutally murders Charlie when she confronts him about not being Uncle-y enough. "WE'RE FAMILY. YOU SHOULD LOVE ME NO MATTER HOW OVER THE TOP AND INSANELY CODEPENDENT I SEEM TO BE."

    ReplyDelete
  68. Fair enough, I might have to watch season 1 again to see if it still is as I remember it. And I agree as the season went on, it got better and better. The layering, the complication in relationships. I liked the wrinkle with Regina. Also I loved the way they put twists on classic fairy tales. Never expected they'd be allowed to do that by Disney! But what really left a bad taste in my mouth in the beginning was the never ending love triangle. That might just be me though, I hated it on Lost too. :P

    ReplyDelete
  69. HA! XD
I would have grade the pilot AT LEAST a full letter grade higher if that had happened!

    ReplyDelete
  70. Yes that's better.lol
Ok that's 1 hour I will never get back. I'm out to watch the Green Mile.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Just realize the lead chick was on SPN back in season 3. lol

    ReplyDelete
  72. I actually didn't mind him. Well, the first scene I was hoping they would just shoot him and leave the dad alive, but we all know that's not going to happen. :|

    ReplyDelete
  73. I think the episode was Bed time stories.

    ReplyDelete
  74. OH :0 what? Oh no,yes you, read that wrong,ha!!!! Oh lord,ha, WOW!

    ReplyDelete
  75. Glad to see you back!! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  76. I have Time Warner but i don't see Revolution on On Demand do you know when?

    ReplyDelete
  77. Looking at twitter comments, at first the comments were positive on the pilot but now that it has been available for longer, there's been negative and lukewarm responses.

    ReplyDelete
  78. IMO if you look at the names of some of the characters, it def plays homage to theological roots that the Disney took away in their adaptations (to make it "happier" and easier for kids to understand some kind of moral ethics) of the original tales (Grimm Broths -> Snow White = Judeo-Christian themes - David/James, Mary- the mother of "the savior', good shepherd/stable boy themes, tree of life/tree of knowledge, picking 'forbidden fruit/curse = death/falling from grace/Adam and Eve, ect)

I usually don't have problems with love triangles, because I think it is actually hard finding someone you can really share a life with. I just don't like it if there is one triangle that never expands, or never gets settled. I think 'finding soul-mates' is another thing that Bad Robot likes to explore on an emotional/spiritual level and the way they go about has yet to bother me, because I realize with them it's apart of the quantum mechanics of their mythologies and sometimes it's those relationships that either define us, or push us to become whom ever we are/ or are going to be...

With Once Upon A Time I think that there is a very similar dynamic going on, as the love aspect produces parallels between characters, but it also goes where Fringe goes in that it's also family relationships can be equally as important, where in LOST those families really were broken and basically unresolved and lost until the flash sideways...

    ReplyDelete
  79. I think you're last sentence is basically the point. I think it's the fact that these kids don't know whom their parents/relatives are, and that they might be directly involved in a conspiracy, and the fact that Ben choose to coddle/segregate them in this crazy world, that makes it interesting. -I am not completely disagreeing with you, I think Charlie especially is going to have to "Cowboy Up", or show the audience that despite her naiveness, that she can still be smart and helpful.

I want to give them the benefit of the doubt in that this is a coming of age story and that these people will find themselves (who they are) on the road ahead when their beliefs are challenged by disturbing truths. I think it's hard to get into a Utopian flip-side of Dystopia with out creating characters that 'need' to rise to that occasion in order to survive it. And I like the juxtapostion that taking away energy could revive a whole new generation and that the fantasy-aspect (as we would see it) of they stand for could somehow over ride what we thought we took as truth in being bad or stupid in this situation. I think the audience needs to ride with the fantasy/spirit of 'the freedom fighter' and let go of the overwelming plausibility of realism. (Hence the Return of the Jedi Lunch Box). It's not that there shouldn't be trials, but I think we'll miss out on something fun, if we hold to0 much realism to it.
Kripke also references it as "Lord of the Rings on the American Highway" so Dorothy then is also Frodo

    ReplyDelete
  80. It's already on mine...We're in the same time zone, so I am surprised it's not available to you yet!

    ReplyDelete
  81. You might be able to assume that they don't actually fire the guns very frequently and none of the weapons seem very recent, so both not as accurate as modern weapons and infrequency of practice. Bullets may be very hard to come by.

    ReplyDelete
  82. I'm waiting till the 6th....I'm going to one of those advance screenings in the theater here in Boston! woo! I'm looking forward to it. EVen if the episode is available now...

    ReplyDelete
  83. I like Maggie too!

    ReplyDelete
  84. No,i just finished watching it not even ten minutes ago. When i got home this afternoon i read this and checked Primtime on demand but at that time it wasn't listed.Right before i was to watch it here i checked again and their it was!

I have to say i liked it,i liked Charlie, she reminds me of Jennifer Gardner in Alias,at least in her 1st season,i even liked Charlies brother,he wasn't obnoxious or a wise ass.I'm going to watch it again,i was eating dinner when i put this on,then i got phone call so i would like to watch it again and watch in peace.

    ReplyDelete
  85. "but obviously electrically opposite" hahaha

    ReplyDelete
  86. Liked it. Just don't understand a few things.

    1) How can anyone be overweight in that scenario?
    2) Tiring of the "reluctant hero" character. I want someone ballsy who'll say Hell Yeah when the time comes.
    3) How did they get a picture of Wrigley Field from yesterday's game?

Loved the "Go hang yourself" line.
Will watch again, even with Billy Burke as the "bad ass".

    ReplyDelete
  87. Gave it an ok. as the setup was fine and didn't dwell on a lot of exposition, that I'm sure that will come out over the season. The good for me: pretty good action sequences, Billy Burke (albeit a bit one note in this ep) was pretty good, and Giancarlo E. was the single best thing in the show so far, and the Google guy/Maggie characters my have some promise. The bad: as expected from all the previews and solidified by this ep wasn't thrilled by the performance of the actress playing Charlie, but will give her a chance and will see if the directors get her to follow her "uncle's" advice and dial it back a bit.... Heck it took me a few eps to get used to the performance of the lead actor on Grimm, so I'll give it a shot.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Had the JJ staples:
    Major character death: check
    single parent: check
    airplane crash: check
    character named Charlie: check
    flashbacks: check
    secrets: check

    ReplyDelete
  89. Loved the premiere! It was amazing. The action was awesome and well choreographed. Will definitely be watching!

    ReplyDelete
  90. It felt like a slightly longer promo than the ones we've already seen. I'm looking forward to the second episode with a little bit more character development. I'm usually pretty hard on girls trying to be fierce, but in this case I'm not getting the Charlie hate. She wasn't bad or even obnoxious. She was young and naive but that was the character, I'm sure she'll get less trusting and innocent. I also had no problems with the fight scenes. Pretty much what I expected and much better than I was waiting for given what I'd heard about them being bad. I wasn't bothered by the Monroe thing because it made it all more logical that he would know about the brothers and their intel. I was however a bit skeptical of the lady who took in Danny. One, it was too much of a coincidence that she was in on it and two if she could be trusted to keep a major secret about "the power going out" how could she be such a bad liar about taking in Danny?

    ReplyDelete
  91. They said we will be finding out the answers,i'm sure not all of them, but they did say they wouldn't be dragging it out.....

    ReplyDelete
  92. Yeah,i don't understand the Charlie hate either? I said the same thing you just did about her, even her brother wasn't obnoxious.

    ReplyDelete
  93. I was a little worried for the first 10 minutes or so, but then things greatly improved. I think the casting is all great - especially the young woman playing Charlie - and the plot, well...I'm super intrigued! Can't wait to see where this goes, and I almost wish I hadn't watched this early because now I just have to wait even longer to see the next episode.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Agreed on Grace.
It definitely felt very contrived for Danny to escape the militia and end up at the one house that happened to be where a woman could power up her PC to report back to someone.
Okay, I get that they wanted to show viewers that there is a larger conspiracy in play, but the first place Danny goes is a hidden Dharma substation? C'mon!
Different strokes and all that, but I found Charlie reason enough to not watch the series again honestly. If I saw that pilot and was a network executive I would have told them to recast Charlie. Easily the most annoying character/ performance of the new TV season that I have seen in previews or episodes of new shows.
I want to see more of the story unfold and I like a number of other aspects of the pilot, but if the character does not evolve and "dial it back".... and the actress does not step up and improve her acting I will not be able to keep watching.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Gun powder might be the hard part to find. With those black powder guns they can use any projectile that fits in the barrel of the rifle so it would be easy to make balls or bullets etc.

Very true about older guns being less accurate, but even the old black powder rifles are fairly accurate at short distances. Of course they give off so much smoke that any large number of shots fired indoors would fill a room with gunsmoke and it would be harder to see.

Specific caliber rounds to fit specific guns like the handgun Captain Neville used would be harder of course. Although he had no issue hitting moving targets

  96. Hmm... I don't know if it would have been predictable it nearly every plot point hadn't been revealed in the promo.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Definitely had me interested, I can't say it was awesome, I voted great, but still it had me wondering what's going to happen next, and I definitely believe that if they work out the kinks, it has great potential.
I was so happy because the first time they mentioned "Monroe" I knew it had to be someone who knew the brothers, and I was positive it was the guy it was Miles, I was so excited when I was right.
Also I don't know what everyone's problem was with Charlie, she didn't really impress me too much, but she didn't really bother me either. However, I remember not being to fond of Olivia the first few episodes of Fringe, but she turned out great.

    ReplyDelete
  98. I watched the first promo only and found it very predictable. That does happen with a lot of pilots thought since showrunners want people to feel comfortable and familiar with new shows at first glance. They often start off in routine ways before defining themselves in unique ways.

I'm not sure what was in the other promo videos, but I knew the archer was a militia honeytrap for Charlie attempting to have her lead him to Miles Matheson.. It only made sense for him to save her later so they can have a forbidden romance angle down the road.... I suspected the bottle that Maggy offered was poisoned since she offered it up so fast.

The only real surprises were that Grace could power up and communicate with someone else and that Monroe was Miles old friend from the flashback. Although I may have suspected Monroe was one of the people in the flashback and/or someone one of the main characters knew in the next episode or two anyway. It's just a tried and true (read cliche) format for shows like this.

  99. Did I miss the 17 inch joke?

    ReplyDelete
  100. Solid start and I believe it has potential to be an incredible TV show.
I mean, sure,it has have some cliches, but it also has a very interesting plot. And personally I wasn't bothered by any of the cast members.
Miles,Aaron and Captain Neville were the ones that drew my attention the most in the pilot, but I'm interested in the others as well.Grace, obviously, has a big part to play,Maggie earned my respect with the poison and as a huge fan of Supernatural,I'm a sucker when it comes to sibling love.Charlie was a bit over the top,but she didn't really bother me and I think this is the kind of show that the characters evolve and change pretty fast, because they don't have any other choice.I liked Danny as well, more than his sister.Pulling a crossbow and threatening armed men wasn't the brightest move, but it was a moving scene. He didn't do it to prove himself,he did it for his family,no matter the outcome.Nate was the biggest cliche so far for me,but his storyline can still become interesting.
It's cool that none of them can be considered helpless. Some are more capable than others but they all know how to survive.
All in all,I'm certainly gonna follow this one, even though I wasn't planning to.

    ReplyDelete
  101. I thought it was great, I am going to carry on watching, I'm hoping it gets better and better (and hopefully it doesn't get cancelled

    ReplyDelete
  102. Just watched it myself and I liked it. I'm guessing it's some form of nano-bot which stops certain electronics / chemical reactions from working and they can be disabled... will be interesting to see where it goes from here and if I'm right.

    ReplyDelete
  103. I'm curious, did you find Charlie as obnoxious as the kids in Terra Nova?

    ReplyDelete
  104. Hey yeah! Good observation, but obviously opposite! love your mind,ha! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  105. In reality, shooting accuracy is all about practice. If they have a shortage of bullets (either slug or gunpowder or ability to find, melt, metal) then they aren't getting any practice. Additionally, it seems like most of the resistance they are getting is afraid of guns, so they probably don't have the call to use them that often in actual situations.

In television world, of course Neville is a good shot he is an important bad guy, minions can never shoot straight. And good guys don't get hit. It's television. If generic bad guys were navy seals then the show would be over too fast.

    ReplyDelete
  106. I think you are confusing character and actor in your annoyance. Danny as a character is annoying. He is a scared kid looking to be a man and getting into trouble. He can always grow up and there are nice moments of vulnerability and bravery. The actor is doing a fine job of bringing that across. You can't blame an actor because in a pilot all you see is a one dimensional archetype. The militia guy had like two lines and he never hit on her (which he totally could have done).

I think the same goes for Charlie. She is earnest and trusting. Yes, that makes her do some silly things, but that is not how she is acted that is setting up her character arc.

All this pilot did was set up the world and populate it. If we don't get to know anybody any more in the next two episodes then I think we can talk problems, but there was a lot of introduction that needed to happen.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Yes.
I would say the character Charlie and the performance by the actress was about equally annoying to me as the kids on Terra Nova, but I expect more from the lead of a series. The Terra Nova kids were supporting cast and Charlie is the lead so on one level I am more annoyed by Charlie honestly.
I don't think the actress is ready to carry a drama series.

    ReplyDelete
  108. I think you are being hard on an actress who had very few lines of dialogue. It feels like you have preconceptions of the world and how you want characters to act and behave. She didn't grow up in the harsh outside world, she grew up happy and sheltered and safe where her dad could fix all the problems. This isn't a raw dystopian future, the noncity areas seem to have healed, it is green and lush. Take a story like Little House on the Prairie novels, Laura lived in a dangerous dangerous world, but she didn't realize that and she didn't have survivalist skills. Charlie is supposed to be sheltered, she doesn't yet know what real danger is. She is going to grow up and fast, but she has to have a baseline to grow from.

If you feel like she is the most annoying character, I suggest you not watch anymore more of the pilots the Mindy Project alone has you beat by three. There are very few young female actors who can even hold a crossbow and not annoy. Kristin Kreuk, Crystal Reed, Rachel Bilson--this chick isn't as annoying as any of them yet.

    ReplyDelete
  109. I didn't get that from her,she was a little much but i chalked it up to her finding her way in the series. From what she said about her farther sheltering her,not wanting her off the block,i figured she would be a little over the top, once she left to find her uncle.. l'll see what the next few episodes have in store for me,by then i'll have a better idea about the show....

    ReplyDelete
  110. As some one that watched Smallville and watches Hart of Dixie, I can say that I find Tracy Spiridakos more annoying.... and I do find Kreuk annoying.

The Little House references are lost on me. I was never a fan since I felt the show was too preachy and boring, but my sister loved it! XD

If simply does not matter if they want to start Charlie at a sheltered naive girl who matures as the series progresses. It has nothing to do with my preconceptions.

There are many characters I would write differently that I liked immediately or grew to like. I move beyond that fast since I am not the writer on a given series.... That is not the same as finding a character annoying. The character annoys me. Period.

I won't be checking out the Mindy Show, but thanks for the warning!
I cannot stand the US version of The Office or any sitcom on NBC so it was on my must avoid list. I do agree that most of the new sitcoms look terrible this year and are filled with annoying characters from the previews and episodes I have seen.. I plan on checking out very few of them, but of the 3 new series I watched so far (Go On and Animal Practice, and now Revolution), Charlie is the most annoying character to me by far.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Oh I hope she changes as Uncle Miles suggested! XD

I don't think that the role will stay this way forever, at least I hope not!

    ReplyDelete
  112. I liked it, i wasn't going to watch it at first, but after hearing good stuff about it I decided to check it out and i'm glad i did. Am I the only one who thinks that the guy that plays Danny looks a lot like the guy who plays Kol on TVD?

    ReplyDelete
  113. Oh I agree it is about practice and you're right on that point.

Some minions have to be able to shoot straight dammit! XD
Randomly placed small objects always seem to be directly in the path of every bullet fired if the hero is targeted. It's one thing to take out one opponent at a time in a stealthy manner, but to just take out everyone in the open like that.... meh. It's contrived. Maybe to be expected on network TV shows, but then again that's why I dislike most network series! XD

Good guys do get hit on more realistic series. Heroes get shot or stabbed on shows like Justified, Brotherhood, Sons of Anarchy etc... Lead actors die on Boardwalk Empire, Game of thrones etc. Maybe not in the pilot episode granted.....

I guess having the hero avoid being hit is better than having them die and being brought back to life multiple times... *shrug*

    ReplyDelete
  114. I watched it again too and really think people should think "Luke Skywalker" when thinking about Charlie and Danny. - There are A LOT of dystopian literature that are also really Utopian themed novels, in that they have characters who believe in better future triumph and change the landscape by their beliefs in it. I feel that Revolution is that, that the young generation is the Revival of what the older generations had lost, partially due to the over use of technology itself and perhaps they lived in a world where they sold their souls for the sake of happiness. I think Charlie's viewpoint in believing that there is still some thing "good" out there is going to be the point of the series. It's about not loosing faith in what's really important and about fighting for a better tomorrow, despite the odds.

There is this one line I didn't catch the first time around that I thought was hysterical...Miles still in the process of rejecting Charlie, as she pressures him again: I want to keep my insides on the inside. XD

    ReplyDelete
  115. Yes,you and me both! :)

    ReplyDelete
  116. I kind of believe it this time too, because I thought the Pilot moved REALLY fast.

    ReplyDelete
  117. I agree. She's a Jedi who needs trained as all by Uncle Ben Kenobi, errrrr Uncle Miles Kenobi (;

    ReplyDelete
  118. I don't want to think Luke!
Luke is very annoying. Possibly one of the most annoying heroes ever! XD

I do understand all the points others have made, and they are legitimate. However, none of that changes my visceral reaction to the character. It is not about logic, or what the showrunners have designed. That is not in question or even relevant to me. I simply am annoyed by the character as written and performed in the pilot.

That can all change in the next episode or two if the character and performance change

    ReplyDelete
  119. I love that he was a married 80 million-dollered Google person!

    ReplyDelete
  120. I didn't get that from the lunchbox,to me it was just a lunchbox that held her most treasured memories. I have to agree with Darque,i also think Luke was very annoying, him and his character.

To me their journey right now is just to get her brother back, what ever that journey leads to is for a better world than what their parents had.But along the way i think that's where they find themselves on the hunt for the truth about who and why they had the 'big turn off.'

I can't wait to see who is on the other end of the computer? Oh yes,i caught what Miles said about his insides,i laughed too!

    ReplyDelete
  121. Honestly, Danny the character did not annoy me very much at all. I saw him more as catching all of Charlie's trouble than getting into it himself. He was the smart one that actually wanted to hunt since they said they were going hunting. His asthma was interesting to me since I can see how difficult it would make life in a powered-off era. Him escaping showed ingenuity to me. He also was rational enough to offer to leave ASAP as to not bring more trouble onto Grace than he already had. His only annoyingly dumb act was pulling the crossbow on the militia...

As far as the militia guy goes I did say the character is cliche... I stated I could not even see his performance and did not comment on it. I did joke maybe the performance influenced my opinion of the character, but It was just a joke. I did not analyze the performance in any way. I am not confusing the two. But yes I do think the character is a massive cliche. The obvious honeytrap spy that uncaringly leads the militia to them, but then suddenly cares enough to save the girl from being killed.

I never said that this pilot was bad or that it did not set up a series well. I can see the cliches being toned down in the upcoming episodes and I commented to that effect in another post.

  123. Ha! No not really, just Pascal being Pascal with me! :D

    ReplyDelete
  124. My opinion Super fun cheesy series with bad production values and just ok acting

    ReplyDelete
  125. Yeah It was "Return of the Jedi" Vintage Lunchbox, but the point about her carrying her stuff might also be about eventually "letting go of it" for the sake of preserving it (Jedi's in the time of Yoda are to loose their pocessions and only concentrate on the will of the force - no family, no relationships, but it is that which leads Anakin to the Dark side, and Luke REstablishing the philosophy of families being a part of what a Jedi should be). (Even Kate Austen's 'New Kids on the Block' lunch box was buried and then rediscovered later only to reveal -that she couldn't escape her fate - being stuck in a "time capsule", crashing and leaving on a plane, and being touched by Jacob: to become one of those new kids who may protect the Island some day, despite that she is a bit of a thief. They beautiful played that in slightly different way here...Charlie found a post card from Chicago stadium and she put it in her box-...and the next thing we know she's walking right by it!)

    ReplyDelete
  126. And here I thought your pains were finally explained! :P

    ReplyDelete
  127. That sounds omnious. :P

    ReplyDelete
  128. I understand how you feel. I hope in time you feel differently about her, as she grows.

I always come to see these things differently than a lot of people, because I can immediately see the philosophy in it and ultimately understand that it has to be written that way in order to explore the justification in the philosophy, rather than just coming to a conclusion too fast. -It's hard for me to separate one thing from another in terms of telling stories.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Yep gotta agree with you on that!

Didn't the Google guy remind you of Sawyer when he said all the good drugs are kept up front on the plane. I don't remember if Sawyer got the meds from the plane or stole them from Jack but he had some stash!

    ReplyDelete
  130. Hahahahahaa! Oh Pascal that was so funny,Ouch! That hurt! :P

    ReplyDelete
  134. finally managed to watch it! I loved it! It was everything I hoped it would be. Excellent concept, brillant action sequences, characters I liked and could very easily connect with, a world full of possibilities to explore and that can lead to very unexpected episodes (in the sense that there is no basic formula for each episode) and a fair amount of twists. My only complaint, even though I knew it was coming: too little Elizabeth Mitchell! I was sooo happy when I saw her back on my screen in the initial scene!

    ReplyDelete
  135. I kind of think that Nano-tech may be apart of it too....Interestingly shortly after the Trailer was released, the University of Berkeley announced new research in which they made a nano-virus that can actually produce small amounts of energy...But Fringe's last few episodes banking on 'A Brave New World' also mentioned nano-tech and had Olivia (with her cortexifan abilities heightened) used as a kinetic energy absorption device in order for William Bell to create a brand new world, by destroying the other two, but preserving a center.

    ReplyDelete
  136. James stole most everything, but actually Jack looked for Meds in the fusal lodge and James was looking for everything else ("trick or treat, the same as you.") --But ya, Aaron also is allergic to Bees and is wearing an AC/DC t-shirt = Charlie Pace and Danny has Asthma is a little nod to Shannon, which the first names of two characters are Maggie and Grace.

    ReplyDelete
  137. So that's where DarthLocke comes from.you never fail to amaze me L. :)

    ReplyDelete
  138. Locke's a character that is constantly tested by 'the dark side' in the sense that he is always taken for a ride, even though he believes he and his relationship with the Island is "special" and on occation his need for power and/control gets the best of him and puts some of the character's in really dangerious positions, but if one follows idea of Eastern Philosophy with his references to Empiricism, one can argue that he was right in that perhaps saving ourselves takes "proper motivation", as the Smoke Monster mocked him by appearing as him, which motivated Jack to not fail and save the Island...save the future(s).

    ReplyDelete
  139. I always felt bad about Locke meeting his end like that, can't say i was thrilled with his character the last season two seasons!

    ReplyDelete
  140. If it wasn't Eric Kripke I so wouldn't even touch this with a 10' pole. But I support sci-fi and fantasy on network TV. I voted OK. There are some kinks that obviously need to be worked out and I will extend my 3 episode policy to five just for this show.

    ReplyDelete
  141. I don't know what to think about the show for now, I love the idea of "blackout" thing and it's a show I would love to watch every weeks but my problem with this show is that it's like they putted some others shows like Terra Nova, Fringe and Lost all together and making "Revolution" with that.

Other point, for what I've seen, some characters are not charismatic and pretty annoying, but I LOVE Charlie, Aaron, Miles and Maggie (and I loved Ben but it's too bad he's dead) and I can't wait to learn more about their past.

About the differents relationships, I'll not gonna lie, in every show I watch I need to have an OTP but the only "love story" who seems to be the one between Charlie and Nate.... what's the problem with it? Well, The "magic" don't act between them, I can't see the chemistry or the sparks....
But some relationships are really interesting and funny like the one between Aaron and Charlie, Maggie and Charlie. But the most interesting is the one between Charlie and Miles the whole " because we're family" making me cry and I can't wait to see them evolve in season 1 (yeah guess I just found my OTP, but in a "family" way huh...)

I really like the plot of Charlie being all alone without her dad or mom and looking for his uncle for help and for founding a kind of lost family, and search for help to found his brother, I really love that.

    ReplyDelete
  142. For God's sake, am I the only one who thought this was BAD? Cliche, bad acting, not so good writing, good directing though. The first time I read the main plot I thought of FlashForward and the ending of the first episode. J.J. & Kripke: "Well, he's a rerun if you missed it. Oops, no, wait, that's our new supposed hit show" So basically: Flashforward meets Terra Nova meets *any show set in nature* meets Everything else on this world that is cliche.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Eric Kripke is famous for answering questions as he goes. He hates long drawn out mythology as much as I do so I think you'll be happily surprised. I would say that if Kripke has control over the pacing we will have some of the biggest questions answered by the midseason finale. Most early questions will be answered by the end of season 1. Kripke does an awesome job of ending one chapter while opening a new one.

    ReplyDelete
  144. My biggest problem with the pilot, which I really enjoyed overall, is that I felt like I had watched it all before through the promos. There was very little I hadn't seen before. Of course that is my own fault so I am eagerly awaiting episode 2.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Personally I didn't see any similarities between A Brave New World and Devil's Trap. Not even sure what this references. I guess I will have to watch A Brave New World over again. Devil's Trap was amazing.

    ReplyDelete
  146. Cool. At least we will have 5 episodes to talk about.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Yes, you're right. But I've not seen Lost, so that's why I made the connection with Fringe.

    ReplyDelete
  148. Gonna give it a try. Pilots are rarely my fave of eps. Few exceptions on that. But it could be really good. The potential is there. So yeah, I'm gonna watch.

    ReplyDelete
  149. It was almost as bad as Falling Skies and Terra Nova.

    ReplyDelete
  150. does anyone know if they are going to release it on itunes?like they did with the new normal which was for free?

    ReplyDelete
  151. Wilson Crawford told me he had thought that...maybe the principal is the same?

    ReplyDelete
  152. I've never been particularly excited by this show because the premise is just so DONE. But I decided to give the pilot a chance. The set up was chock full of cliches. The big reveal about the General was predictable. The last sequence with the computer reminded me of Jericho a lot. I was just underwhelmed.

I didn't like the Fringe pilot and am completely hooked on the show. What Fringe had that Revolution does not was characters (Walter) that I tuned in specifically to see. Here...not so much. The daughter (who seems, from the publicity) to be the lead character is just so cliched that I'm uninterested. In addition, the actress didn't engage me either. I did really like the former Google guy. I also liked Billy Burke's character. But not really enough to tune in just for him. Giancarlo Esposito is always great.

All in all...only OK and I'm not sure I'll be checking out the second episode.

    ReplyDelete
  153. No. You are not alone.

    ReplyDelete
  154. huh. I went immediately to Jericho.

    ReplyDelete
  155. Lol! but still, it was a great pilot.

    ReplyDelete
  156. Oh gods, the amount of sexism in the pilot episode alone. No wonder Kripke is amongst the writers.

    - The "lead" Female is constantly being patronized, saved and told what to do by male figures.
    - We have a dozen cases of female character using subterfuge to take down an opponent, while at the same time you have "heroic" lead male taking down a few dozens of enemies "head on" in a "manly way".
    - The "lead female's" existence is defined by her father and now by her brother.

The plot itself might prove to be decent, but the amount of sexism and misogyny in the show just puts me off from it.

    ReplyDelete
  157. I could watch it 3 days ago, but today I tried to do it again to watch it with a friend and it doesn't work

    ReplyDelete
  158. Worst thing ever. Makes the event look like Tolstoy and that got canceled when it finally got good
Cancel this, it is totally implausible and ridiculously corny not to mention predictable

    ReplyDelete
  159. Dreadful... easily the worst "big" pilot i've seen in the last few years
Not even The Voice lead in will save this turkey from the cancelation bear

    ReplyDelete
  160. Easily JJ Abrams' worst show since Undercovers...
    Horrible Lead Actress
    Too rushed
Too Clean(Nice supply of hair gel for the boys)
    Everyone looks too healthy
    Predictable

    ReplyDelete
  161. I did not even comment on that but I thought everything and everyone was way too clean too.

I'm not sure I would go as far as saying Revolution's pilot was as bad as Undercovers'.... I think Revolution has far more potential I guess. Execution wise I think Undercovers was actually more polished and had better acting, but Revolution is more ambitious and has a more interesting story to me. Oh well, we're in agreement that both were not good, so we are just splitting hairs here. XD

    ReplyDelete
  162. Not sure I agree....

Charlie was told what to do by her dad and by his girlfriend.... not just men. Which makes sense since she is a teen coming of age. Nothing sexist about that, maybe agist if anything.

I also don't think subterfuge is necessarily a bad thing as you seem to imply. Maggy got out of a bad situation with the tools and skills she had. That is not sexist to me. If Uncle Miles was captured I am willing to bet he would use poison to escape if he could, but that is not in his skill set. On top of that Maggy later saves Aaron in a traditionally "manly way" as you put it.

Charlie is defined by her father, yeah that is how it works. And Danny is Charlie's little brother and therefore defined by her. We are all defined in part by who our parents and siblings are until we start to establish our own adult identities. That is what Charlie's story will be about, her coming of age in this new world without power. She will define herself as the show goes on evolving from Ben Matheson's teen daughter to Charlie Matheson the adult.

There was a lot wrong with the pilot to be certain, but I think you are looking at isolated instances and ignoring instances that go against your preconceived notion.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Looks good, be interested to see how it develops.

    ReplyDelete
  164. This was ~almost~ as good as I was hoping it would be.
DarthLocke4 said "I think the actors are still finding their footing." I think that's being too kind. The acting was terrible in parts!
To be honest, not a lot happened in this ep that couldn't already be gleaned from the trailers and promos, but I can't help be drawn in by the storyline and the mystery factor and will definitely watch a few more, especially if they keep the action levels high.
All in all, a promising start. Although I fear shows like this need to be more than just 'promising' if they are going to survive.

    ReplyDelete
  165. Finally watched it, it was better than I was expecting (but I was not expecting much). I do have a few issues with some of the casting, and some of the scenarios as presented, but it wasn't completely awful and I will probably try another episode before making my mind up whether to follow it or not.

    ReplyDelete
  166. Maggie is already more badass than Andrea from TWD. Just saying.

    ReplyDelete
  167. There were fat people before electricity was discovered LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  168. I wasn't going to watch it since I kinda hate billy burke but I figured Id give it a try and It was bad...Not only the acting is bad but the story is bad and it's highly unrealistic. As many people mentioned before I don't get how they could stay as clean as they are with fresh clothes. People should stop comparing it to fringe or falling skies because when you watch FS you can tell they're leaving without electricity and modern commodities. I think this show is the new flash forward, alcatraz or terra nova : big buzz for a crappy show and it won't last more than a season.

    ReplyDelete
  169. I voted Great. Think after all the hype around it and the fact that Gus from Breaking Bad is in it, I expected a bit more, but it was basically an extended version of the commercials we've been seeing for years. Anyway, I'll still be checking it out and I think it should be a pretty good show.

    ReplyDelete
  170. Worse than awful.

    ReplyDelete
  171. I wasn't crazy about it. I don't know if it was the acting, the character writing, or the direction, but at one point I compared this to the pilot of The Walking Dead (another after-the-world-ends type plot), and TWD was so much richer and suspenseful. It seems like this was created more around gimmicks (the world devolves into medieval land) than around characters, which is a bad sign. I'll watch one more episode, but if it hasn't improved, I won't be staying up for it.

    ReplyDelete
  172. Obviously electrically opposite lol. That's a good one. How is it like POI? (I haven't seen the pilot yet because I don't usually watch the 1st seasons of shows. I prefer to know whether or not they're going to survive before I get involved), but if it's like POI that would interest me greatly.

    ReplyDelete
  173. Loved it. Did anyone notice the ac/dc shirt?

    ReplyDelete
  174. I liked it, I'm going to keep watching. I just hope it doesn't go the way of Terra Nova, FlashForward, and The Event and get cancelled before it can get it's footing. It's interesting to see how things (could) go when it's not an alien invasion or zombies attacking.

    ReplyDelete
  175. What I noticed is that shirt has held up remarkably well for being so old. It doesn't even seem faded.

    ReplyDelete
  176. From listening to the interviews and thinking about it for awhile. I think we're missing the point of the show. We're too used to the delayed mystery scifi story. The mystery of why the power went out and how it happened and how we survived isn't the point, it's just a means to an end: how to have a fun epic adventure with modern characters. You can't go on a quest if you could just get in your car and drive there, then it's not so much a quest as it is a road trip. We don't need to over analyze why the world is this way and if it is consistent with an underlying mythos and what does it all mean and is the power going out a unique enough story, because the power outage/how we got here is just the underpinnings for the bigger story. It needs to make sense, sure, but it isn't what we are actively struggling with every week. If the mystery was the point, we shouldn't have skipped 15 years into a future in which everybody has pretty much accepted the change and ignored it for most of the show.

  177. Almost all the clothes were off the rack condition... seemed so wrong.
    That shirt stood out though!

  178. mmm lots of things not making that much sense: how r the clothes so neat? and the fabrics? did anybody raid a clothing storehouse in the midst of confusion and chaos while evacuating the city? shouldn't they be coarser, less well made? who knows how to make fabric or clothes today be it cityfolk or villagers (the tiny village is very lucky to have found a master tailor, a teacher, a doctor, a candle maker etc within its population of what? 100? 200? not very realistic), also the hair? would u ever keep your hair long and loose when going into a fight? hell even in a post apocalyptic world with not much quality shampoo and no hot water? knowing how to distill alcohol is a usefull skill but why does the guy fight with a sword? i'm pretty sure making bullets is not more difficult than the alcohol and gunpowder was an old old invention... i don't know; the world just doesn't...fit for me

  179. To be honest, getting the components for gunpowder and the lead is probably pretty hard, we live in a really spread out world now, with few easily accessible natural resources. Alcohol can be made from grain, that's easy. Lead on the other hand...not so easy.

  180. Not so much....
Charcoal can easily be created anywhere there is wood. Sulfur can be found all over occurring naturally and is something like the 9th or 10th most common element in the universe. Potassium nitrate is readily found bat caves and other places.... Nitrates can also be made with ash and manure. I could find all the natural materials within 15 miles from my house....

All the components are fairly common honestly. That combination of elements in the formula is what made it difficult for man to create, not the elements themselves. It would be some harder to make the smokeless or more powerful gun powders....

As far as the bullets or projectile goes you do not need lead. Anything can be used from wood to stone to various metals.

Of course making a gun and making an effective gun are two different things. It would take more expertise, but the fundamentals are not that difficult.

  181. Of course, I have a bat cave and sulfur bed in my backyard! No to mention the mining capabilities. Your house sounds like it is in a scary place, I live in the burbs. xD
