  1. Did not see a poll for tonight's Elementary pilot so thought I would create one...
Let us know what you think!

  2. Personally I liked it. I think it has potential. But unfortunately, unless people get it in their heads that this is just a different version of the character, and not in any kind of competition with Sherlock, people aren't going to give it a fair shot.

And for the love of God I have one big request. Please, I'm begging the writers of this show, do not hook up Watson and Sherlock. Ever! Never ever! My brain cells already kill themselves every time I go to a forum or fanfiction website and see the million or so different topics about about those two getting it on in the British version.

I swear, if I stumble across just one more story involving those two finally admitting their love I'm going to throw up. Not because they're men, but because it is just so utterly illogical I feel dumber just reading the descriptions.

Although I definitely wouldn't kick Lucy out of bed, I can barely stand that ship from the British version.

  3. It was **~FABULOUS~**
(I don't even know what I'm doing, but it was)

  4. How dare you!? Every one knows that Moffat created Sherlock Holmes and no one ever used the character(s) in television before the BBC version got big!

  5. It was quite enjoyable.I'm particularly smitten by Liu as Watson.

6 awful but 0 poor votes? Fishy. Pardon the tumblr speak, but "haters be pressed"

  6. Honestly I thought I would not like it cause I am very much a fan of the BBC version. But you know it was not bad. I think I will watch a few more episodes. I will say though that if you watch the UK version of Sherlock you cant help but compare the 2, so for that reason I am trying to have an open mind.

  7. You're right, silly me! I should have thought that through more clearly. I forgot they also created Merlin and the entire Arthurian Legend. That never existed before 2008, I don't know why people act like its been done before.

  9. It's actually one the best pilot episodes this season. Definitely the best new CBS has this year. I'll definitely keep watching, and i think the series is strong because of the chemistry between Lucy and Miller, and it has a divergent procedure feel unlike the other procedurals in CBS.

  10. I think the show was amazing and JLM & LL were amazing as Holmes & Watson.

  11. to begin with i was unsure wether or not i liked holmes and watson but as the pilot got more into to it i started liking the charachters more and more. ill deffo be watchin the rest of the series

  12. I'm giving it another two episodes so that I can judge it fairly. First thoughts I liked it. Second thought, I only have room/patience for two procedurals this season and I've already got Person of Interest. I'm hoping that The Mentalist can keep my interest but if not I'd be willing to give this show a shot. It was a great pilot but the third episode is usually when you can see the chemistry really start to gel or if it isn't and if isn't that's not a good sign. I know this going to be a break out hit, of only soley for the eye candy. I'm not sold with Watson being a woman, I feel like it's a ploy to get away with the comparison of the UK version, TBH. So we'll see how things shape up. Even if I ended up not liking it, I hope for those that do like it, it doesn't get cancelled.

  13. I don't like procedural shows generally; I find them boring. But I actually want to continue watching this just for the awesome chemistry between the 2 leads. They are really great and even humorous together as partners; hopefully the writers won't ruin that by making them lovers.

  14. I watched it about a week ago and really enjoyed it. I know its a proceedutral but JLM's rather interesting portrayal of Holmes more than makes up for it. Lucy Liu's was great. As long as they weave the characters own storylines in well with the weekly case I think I might actually really get into this show.
The best pilot I've seen this season so far.

  15. Really enjoyed and I will be interested to see how it develops.

  16. It was good...but..I was watched something else on my computer and surfed the web throughout. Had no trouble keeping up with what was going on. I liked Luci Liu's character, but...it didn't wow me. It'll likely be a DVR show but it's not I must watch immediately.

  17. ..A VERY COOL WAY TO IMPROVE AND ADD A DIFFERENT RESPECTIVE TO A CLASSIC PORTRAYS

  18. Absolutely loved it! Johnny and Lucy were terrific and I readily accepted that Sherlock needs a sleep-in sponsor for his addictions (all versions of Sherlock, even Conan Doyle's original, are basically silly). I'm definitely watching it next week.

  19. Thanks. I was looking for one last night.

  20. I thought it was pretty good. I'll give it a chance to find it's groove.

  21. I loved JLM he was terrific but i guessed who did it really early on so the plot needs to be tightened up. But I plan to stick with it to see where it goes.

  22. I really enjoyed it. I actually would have given it a "great" if that was a choice (between good and awesome). I of course expected to like JLM in the role of Sherlock, because he's always good (and he was), but I actually found Liu as Watson even more riveting. I like that Liu's Watson seems more than able to stand up to this Holmes. And this Holmes is less infallible/more vulnerable than the BBC version, which to be honest, I find a little more interesting than the BBC/Cumberbatch portrayal.

  23. I think people really need to realise how much the 43 minute time span limits what can be done in TV shows, it means you can't really compare it to the BBC version which has episodes more like a short film. Considering this the show is great and I'll definitely keep on watching.

  24. For a CBS procedural, I thought it was rather enjoyable. I do wish, however, that CBS would have aired the uncut pilot (5 minutes longer) because that was noticeably better.

  25. I have to respectfully disagree while using another BBC show as a prime example of the 43 minute time span not being that much of a hindrance. Doctor Who has wonderfully used two-parters to prevent having to condense a great story into a 43 minute time period. American television shows just don't do this except on rare occasions.

  26. You're inside my head!! I also liked it - but I can't say it was great, though.
In order for me to watch the whole episode without cringe, I found it absolutely necessary to think of them as someone else other than THE Sherlock Holmes and THE Dr. Watson - once you do that, you're fine! I just had a slight issue with JLM accent (at some parts it felt somewhat forced) and with the fact that at parts I couldn't help but remember Bennedict Cumberbatch's Sherlock, through JLM's Sherlock manneirisms and with Lucy Liu's expressions (probably because I'm used seeing Lucy Liu's characters being larger than life). She felt very "small" to me. I do feel, however, that these two pretty skilled actors have plenty of room to properly develop their characters.

And yeah, as a professional shipper, PLEASE, for the love of God do not, I repeat, DO NOT hook them up. At this stage that feels way too predictable and actually way too awful! I'm trying see through every perspective available, but in all of them this ship just seems unnecessary.

  27. I finally watched it this afternoon and i really enjoyed it! I also love Johnny Lee and i think he was just terrific in it. At one time i never cared for Lucy Liu but her time on Southland really turned me around...I'm taking the show for what its is,and not worrying about it not living up to the BBC version,blah,blah,blah..geezs so tired of hearing about the comparison! I'll be joining you next week, that's for sure!

  28. I've been a Sherlock/Watson fan ever since Basil Rathbone & Nigle Bruce, so when I saw "Elementary" featured I new it was going to be a winner. Holmes is a true winner (accent pretty strong) and Lucy Lui brings her talent to the very top as Watson. I knew she would pull this off. The charisma between she & Holmes is powerful, however, I know they will remain just partners in spite of cupid trying to plunk his magic arrow into them. To have Holmes & Watson bring even an embrace would be the end of a "Beautiful Friendship."

  29. I liked it. Will definitely watch a few more.
