  1. A powerful hour, dark and intense, in the soul of our favourite Time Lord. It's been awhile since I saw him thinking about its demons (loneliness, sadness and the damages he can done without anyone). Loved the dualism with Jex, appreciated the dialogues and script by Toby Withouse, the cinematography and the music. Best episode of the season thus far and it moves the series forward the Pond's definitive salute. Great work by Matt Smith.

  2. It was dull. The high point was the chat between Amy and the Doctor when he tried to kill Jex. But that was it. It was a by the numbers, borefest that gave Amy and Rory virtually nothing to do...

  3. Great episode! I loved the scene with Doctor losing his mercy and Amy bringing him back from the edge. Brilliantly played by Matt! Also, too bad Rory and Amy didn't really have much to do and they seem more and more ... distant.
Can't wait to see next episode where we'll get a chance to see their other life, without the Doctor. Just wish I didn't have this not so very good feeling about it.

  4. It certainly wasn't a big point amongst Doctor Who episodes, or even Matt Smith episodes, but it wasn't bad. I did find Amy a little odd... one episode she's okay with someone being killed as he killed a ship full of Salurians but this episode she's dead set against it - regardless of his past atrocities.

  5. Why did the Doctor change his mind about killing? He had no regret of killing the smuggler who killed the silurians and in this episode he was also willing to kill.In the past,he always refused to do that.

  6. In my opinion, this was a solid if somewhat mediocre episode. The best bit of it was the undertaker who kept trying to measure the Doctor for a coffin! I found the Doctor's moral dilemma a bit forced and somewhat out of the blue, which I felt detracted from the quality of the episode overall, but despite this episode not ranking in my favourites, I have high hopes for the next two: next week's should be hilarious, and the Weeping Angels are going to make me weep, I'm sure of it.

  7. Am I the only one who was thrown off by The Doctor wearing a six shooter? I know he didn't pull it but it just seemed really weird that he would wear it.

Something was a little off for me. I loved the moment when Amy yanked The Doctor back from the murderous edge. I think my real problem with the episode (which mostly felt really solid) was that I never believed that Jex changed; that he had any remorse. He sacrifices him self to save the town but until that moment there was nothing about that him that made me believe that he'd changed.
