A bit trippy in parts, but a decent way to "shake things up a bit", whilst hinting at some future backstory - where is the corruption in the LVPD and what was the reason that DB lied to his family before in Seattle. I liked the unsettling of the team a bit: taking DB out of his usual "zen space" and showing him manic and out of control, and the pseudo spat between Sara/Nick, don't really like the idea (that it seems they're gonna try to push) with a romantic triangle between Hodges/Sanders/Ecklie's daughter like they did with Wendy/Hodges/other geeky lab guy before - I don't think that the show needs that angle personally... I do get a kick that they never mention the other big elephant in the room: why Grissom never seems to visit his wife (and/or vice versa)... lol
It was a great Episode to kick off the season. This is going to be must watch TV again. Ted Danson does frantic very well and the original team got some quality time on air... Great overall and leads to some good story telling if the writers hang in there.
I went Awesome. I thought they played out the storylines well: Moreno saving Julie had a nice touch Good to see DB's granddaughter back safe Happy that Ecklie is alive, think him and Morgan will have much more of a connection this season Interesting to see Morgan/Hodges, not sure where that will go... I think Nick is back, which is good. I like how DB used his own methods to get back at McKeen, unlike how Nick would have gone about it. Both would have been good, but it was better for the show that it went DB's way Problem with McKeen being alive means he could always come back. Great episode overall, even with the difficult to follow flashbacks.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteDid not get a chance to catch up on last season. Am assuming D.B.'s visions are a new thing. It's an interesting dark layer to the character.
