  1. Welcome home Eli!
At first I was wondering why Eli was so upset that Micky was there to drive him around, but after some thought..... Micky is one damned annoying cackling fool of an irritant! Eli looks older when out of his uniform.... Prison puts a man through many changes I hear, but what about the changes that occur at home while the man is in prison......
Gyp Rosetti is just high-tension incarnate.... menace in a 3-piece suit.I wait for him to snap every time he is on the screen.....
Welcome to the show Jimmy James... I mean Stephen Root! That was an interesting introduction... He could add something to the already complex mix of power players on the show.
Gotta love paranoid Nucky!Attempting to keep tabs on his mistress by checking the usage of the razor and the hair inside. XD
It would be hard to grow up Chalky White's daughter, but she's not doing herself any favors though by looking for "interesting men like her father"! XD
This was a small step back from the brilliant premiere to me. I enjoyed it, but it all felt a little familiar to me I guess. Magaret being her typical annoying self, Nucky and Rothstein having fun repartee, someone threatening Nucky's operation etc.... It just felt like another set up episode to me more than moving things forward. Hopefully the next episode will set things into motion.

  2. I need to watch this one again. It kind felt like Boardwalk Empire went Twilight Zone to me. I agree with Darque that this was step back from a great premiere. I think my favorite part was probably Stephen Root and his beautifully crafted lines. I have some thoughts about airplanes, the continuations of Shakespeare's Roman history plays, and the wild west, but I am going to hold out for another rewatch and Pascal's review.

  3. Eli looks older and a lot thinner I wonder if Shea Whigham lost weight for the role? It certainly gives a good sense of how drained and tired the character is.

  4. Not as great as the premiere because no Harrow or Van Alden is always a big negative for me but getting to see Chalky was great and Stephen Root what an unexpected pleasure! I didn't know he was guest staring this season but I recognised that voice immediately.

I actually felt quite bad for Eli and he isn't a character I usually sympathise with.

  5. I actually think he looks "slicker" and the fact that he took the time to read Shakespeare play (Et Tu, Eli?) to the idea that (at least Eli believes and the audience may see) he is a different man, a silent deadly one.Eli has put on his armor.

  6. Rosetti took a chill pill but he's still kind of terrifying. You don't know if he is about to snap.
Totally in awe of Michael Stuhlbarg's pool-playing skills. So glad to have Chalky and Eli back.
