Of course, many fans of the ABC series — which was last season’s highest-rated freshman drama — want to skim over such mind-benders and focus on the sure-to-be-aww-some reunion between Snow, the Prince and their long-lost daughter. But that family get-together, Morrison cautions with a laugh, is “complicated,” for a number of reasons. (As Once cocreator Adam Horowitz says in our Fall Preview Q&A, “After the experiencing the initial joy of finding her parents, Emma struggles as she learns how to be parented.”)

Sounds like Emma's gonna go through a disobedient teenager phase
ReplyDeleteLet's hope it's not a long, overtly annoying phase.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like that, but I actually think that will be true to the character. Let's hope and see. I am very very excited about this season, I love Once Upon a Time!
ReplyDeleteI really can't wait for Charming family times. It's what I've been wanting for a long time.
ReplyDeleteI would rather it be complicated,to have aww moments now would wear thin very fast.Emma has many changes still, her family dynamic changed 180 degrees. She started out barely being able to take care of herself, let alone Henry, now she has parents and Henry...that's some heavy weight on her shoulders right now.....besides magic!
ReplyDeleteI would love Jamie to come back, but i know he is in a series right now, guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens!
I suspect that there will be both, since this is only the second season of a drama. Although I think Emma may be happy to find her family, and there will surely be some nice moments, I think she still has issues about what they chose to do and/or the fact that it might be up to her to keep fighting (for others, but also for herself...) In her own way Emma was cursed too, because she had a life where everything went wrong, where people used her time and time again (adopted "meal ticket" that didn't work out, pregnant in jail = fall guy for someone else,-Henry's father) let alone continuously abandoned (and what kind of kid doesn't read a lot fantasy of books? -one who is very disillusioned with reality) Her previous profession is interesting, because in some ways holding people accountable might be respectable, but it also might in her case a way in act 'revenge', which is why I could see the possibility for a darker side to Emma, as sometimes she parallels Regina.
ReplyDeleteOh i didn't mean i didn't want to see her happy, just she has a lot to go through still.I don't want the live happily ever after, its too soon...Yes,She has had a rough life, also self imposed to some degree...
ReplyDeleteI really was just agreeing with you, but expanding that idea, like you said, I don't think we're in the midst of happy endings, but rather digging in deeper with everyone's problems (:
ReplyDeleteGotcha! :)
