NCIS - Season 10 - Brad Beyer to guest star

13 Sept 2012

Jericho and Third Watch alum Brad Beyer has booked a two-episode arc on NCIS during November sweeps, TVGuide.com has learned.

Beyer will play Marine Capt. Joe Westcott, an upstanding unit leader who returns from a tour in Afghanistan after his best friend and many more of his men lose their lives. As Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and other federal investigators question him, he begins to unravel and perhaps shows signs of post-traumatic stress disorder.

Some of Westcott's issues may stem from his tense relationship with his gruff father, himself also a former Marine. As such, executive producer Gary Glasberg tells us Gibbs and Westcott will make a "real connection" over the course of these two episodes.

  1. I've been missing Jericho lately. Can't wait for this episode!

  2. This seems more like a case-of-the-week type of story, not a November Sweeps episode.

  3. I wish Glasberg would focus more on telling really good stories(circa seasons1-6) and less on who he can get to guest star.

  4. I think Glasberg is focused on story telling,i don't see him making something more of Brad than what he is,a guest star.

  5. I had forgotten Brad was in Third Watch, but he was good in Jericho...man that show could have been great if it wasn't for that damn strike....

  6. I'm talking over all, not just this incidence. Since Glasberg took the reins it's far more disjointed than it ever was under the previous showrunners. We have story threads that are just dropped, anti-climatic story arcs and/or resolutions, wildly uneven characterization, and guest stars(talented as they may be) that appear painfully wedged into arcs that didn't need them. Don't get me wrong there have been some great episodes, but these IMHO have not been great seasons. NCIS is one of my favorite shows because of the characters/cast and that's why this bothers me. I want the stories to be worthy of them again.

  7. I agree with you completely. The stories overall just really lack the impact that the earlier seasons had and I find myself very disappointed with the show most of the time even though I adore the cast.
