  1. Oscar bait alert, great cast as well.

  2. I really like DD Lewis and the film is probably going to be great, but I found the trailer to be a bit underwhelming.

  3. Hmm, the book talks about Lincoln's genius of assembling cabinet members, who mostly all were opponents and critics of Abe, fought and set aside their differences on politically and self's view on "saving this nation or preserving the union," whereas I see from this trailer a montage of Lincoln soulfully believing that slavery abolishment was the right thing to do, but not as slavery abolishment was the right action or course to take to preserve the union.

But it's a trailer, so I or we'll see if the movie portrays Abe as the man, who saved the union or the man ,who freed the slaves, more or less.

  4. Felt the same way, there was nothing that really sparked for me. The trailer kinda felt like any other oscar contender movie before it, so much so that it felt like a parody of itself.

Daniel Day Lewis is an incredible actor, so I'm definitely gonna see this movie.

  5. Hopefully they won't go overboard with the idea that Lincoln was insistent on preserving the union and abolishing slavery. I've heard that a lot and it simply isn't true. He wanted to do both, but ask any Lincoln historian and they'll tell you, he would have settled for simply preserving the Union. Looks like a good movie.

  6. I see this trailer and instead of Abraham Lincoln, I see two things: Emmy nominations and Daniel Day-Lewis giving his acceptance speech. I'll wait until it's on Netflix.

  7. The thing about the upcoming videos is really distracting. It just bugs me because it blocks a big chunk of the screen!
