Sony Pictures Television has pre-sold the new drama to more than 100 countries worldwide ahead of its debut on ABC Thursday night.
Deals include ones with ProSieben in Germany, FOX in Italy, Mediaset in Spain and Digiturk in Turkey. Sony Pictures’ pay TV network AXN Asia will broadcast Last Resort across 20 territories, including India, China and Hong Kong. Canadian broadcaster Shaw Global picked up the show earlier this year.

I like this! It gives me high hopes,so glad i didn't listen to the nay sayers!
ReplyDeleteI was afraid that this would tank going against The Big Bang Theory, American Idol and Vampire diaries. Now that this has been pre-sold to over 100 countries, I have high hopes. But, nothing in that slot which devoured Charlie's Angels and Missing last season is going to succeed for ABC. Shawn Ryan needs a chance after his recent shows like Terriers, Chicago Code got cancelled after 13 episodes.
ReplyDeleteAs did The Event & Flash Forward.
ReplyDeleteThat's interesting. Can anyone explain how historically that relates to a shows ratings and its chances of staying on the air?
ReplyDeleteI really hope its a big success but I am very nervous about the time slot.
ReplyDeleteI loved the pilot so if they can keep that level of story telling going then i am there!
ReplyDeleteIt does not really mean much for it's chances of staying on the air or ratings. As another commentor has already said, The Event and Flashforward were also pre sold to more than a hundred countries - but they ended up getting cancelled anyway. So, I can only assume it does not make financial sense bring back a brand new show for a second season even if it is sold worldwide, if it has bad ratings.
ReplyDeleteWow! I will definitely catch it on HDTV in India! :)
