Thanks to Sue for the heads up.

Grimm has promoted Claire Coffee (a.k.a. Nick’s Hexenbiest nemesis) to a full-fledged series regular, effective immediately.

  1. Depending where they take her character, this could be cool. I can't really see her as a full on antagonist, if she's a regular- but someone who can help but also go against Team Grimm? Knows more about Renard than them? Could be cool.

  2. I agree. I am happy with the news but I would like her to be sort of an ambiguous character, not the main big bad for the whole season. I hope they turn her around to someone good throghout the season, without loosing the ambiguous part. But then again, I hope to be surprised so I wouldn't like if they did exactly this :p I trust the writers though, it should be okay ;)

  3. This is wonderful! Adalind can reverse Juliet's curse and also Renard's. She could also provide a Juliette-Nick-Adalind triangle, which could be good or bad. I don't know where they'll find Adalind, but I'm really looking forward to it.

  4. Really? She's already been declawed, and she wasn't a very good bad guy before. Why bring back a bleh character and then decide to keep her? Find someone new, she's been played out.

Disagree wholeheartedly. Adalind is amongst the BEST characters in this show :P

    well this is great.

Adalind can add a certain level of unpredictability to the show, as someone who has a reason to go against both nick and renard, as well as to help either of them if it benefits her.

Also she is fascinating and quirky and perfect foil for Rosalee.

This is very VERY good decision on the showrunners part.

  7. I've been asking for this for months, best decision ever.

  8. We have our "Anya" ladies and gentlemen now let's just hope Nick doesn't get a little sister. Great news. Really like her character.

YESSS...just was thinking about that and how this reminds me of the whole "demon made human" story of Anya.

  10. Me too. It's funny, we all were thinking of Anya. Scooby-doo-be-doo, the gang just grew!

  11. Yes, finally! I love her character and I've missed her a lot.

  12. I'm glad that i'm not the only that likes her character :)

  13. F YEAHHHH! I missed her the few episodes, but I knew she would be back, her presence was felt in the aftermath of her actions. Will Magique return as well?

  14. Didn't the cat get run over?

  15. But that doesn't mean it can't come back.

    DUN DUN DUN

  16. Oh, okay, I didn't think that was what you meant.

Anything is possible, but I hope not--Pet Cemetery scared the crap out of me when I was little. Oh, who am I kidding it still does.

  17. Why? Is she going to get much more screentime for some reason? Or will she be a regular in name only?

  18. I like her character and I'm sure I won't mind the status upgrade but I'm not sure I understand this move. Adalind has been MIA for the entire season, she's been de-witched, and she got her revenge.

I don't know where the character, as a regular, could go from here unless the sort of reboot her and put her on a completely different track.

  19. Hey, now I know how you feel about Klaus!

  20. Ha! Yeah, I guess it is quite the similar situation. Nice catch.

  21. Yeshh! I love Adalind! I like her better than Juliette. although she lost her power as a Hexenbiest she's a witch who can brew.. stuff O_o she probably teams up with Sean's brother?

  22. Should be interesting. I'm sure they have a plan.

    not even similar.

With Klaus you had this promising but ruthless villain.....and then suddenly he is series regular, painting ponies, and show is even worse than it was.

Adalind since the very start was quite morally ambiguous character who was focused around making her mother and Renard happy, living her life FOR them, but not beyond humanizing and sympathetic traits alongside villainous ones.

Add to that that Adalind has unknown amounts of knowledge about Renard and you have unlimited potential of storylines with her.

  24. First, Adalind was never morally ambiguous. The why of what she was doing doesn't change that. She never, not even for a second, hesitated to pull the string on any of her schemes or stopped to question the ethics of what she was doing. She was unquestionably a straight-up villain.

Second, you're nitpicking character specifics when that's not the point. It's the situation we're talking about:

Two villains with two specific purposes, both with well-defined story arcs (complete with beginnings, middles, & ends) are both retained as series regulars past the point of their specific purposes.

    It's the same basic situation.

  25. If we're going for Buffy analogies, I think Adalind would be more like chip Spike! All bark and not much bite left :D Anya changed sides too easily, I think Adalind would be a lot more conflicted/reluctant about helping team Grimm!
