Yay, for Homeland!
ReplyDeleteWell done to Homeland, for me it was that show or Breaking Bad for best drama.
ReplyDeleteI am pleasantly surprised Damian got best Actor but he was excellent especially in the finale.
Never going to knock Aaron Paul getting an award but you can tell he really wanted Giancarlo to get it bless.
The dominance of Modern Family in the comedy awards continues to be a joke.
I kind of knew Amy had no chance at actress so I am glad it went to Julia, Veep is great.
YAY for HOMELAND, Aaron Paul, Maggie Smith and I'm so disappointed for Sherlock *grrrrr*.
ReplyDeleteGlad Game Change cleaned up and Hatfields & McCoys got some Emmy love!
ReplyDeleteBoth series deserved the wins they got.... especially Game Change.
Hopefully next year only mini-series or movies will not be eligible in the Movie/ Mini-Series categories! Ongoing series (no matter how short their season or faulty logic of their press team) need to go into the regular Drama category or not be nominated at all.
*Yeah I'm looking at you Luther, Sherlock and American Horror Story*
I can't even with the Emmys. Whatever. I mean, I wasn't happy with so many of the noms in the first place so....
ReplyDeleteWTF, Jon Cryer???? Are they insane?
ReplyDeleteYeah for Homeland! Their success is legitimate. However I'm not happy with Jon Cryer winner. It's no sense!
ReplyDeleteCan't believe John cryer won. He would have been my last pick
ReplyDeleteThere's a reason I never care about/watch Emmys. And it's right above!
ReplyDeleteGiancarlo Esposito > Aaron Paul
ReplyDeleteBryan Cranston > Damian Lewis
It seems like they forgot about season FOUR of Breaking Bad and looked at season five only (which they obviously shouldn't do).
Very happy to see Louis CK win two awards!
ReplyDeleteOther than that, there's a lot better shows than Modern Family and Two and a Half Men.
So disappointed.
ReplyDeleteHomeland over Game of Thrones?Modern Family over TBBT? Damian Lewis over Bryan Cranston?Kevin Costner (?!?!?!?) over Idris Elba?I seem to have bad taste.
If we keep it this way, they should separate the cable shows from the network's...
ReplyDeleteHowever, i pretty much can't stand these Emmys, c'mon! Nominating things like Girls? Really? It's a nice show, but compared with Loui, Community, Parks & Rec, Modern Family, Episodes, etc, it's just mindless...
Supporting actor in comedy series should have been to Danny Pudi(Community) who wasn't even nominated. Stana Katic should be nominated for her portrayal of PTSD cops on the show Castle(I have an uncle who is a cop and had PTSD, and she was just perfect). John Hamm should WON the best actor in drama series, they must give him one at least!. Amy should won for best acctress in comedy(Veep? WTF?). Where was John Noble in the Supporting actor in drama series, that man must won one... AND OH MY GOD! BREAKING BAD SHOULD WON THE BEST DRAMA!!! HOMELAND MY ASS!!!
The only thing i'm ok is with Louis CK winning, that man is awesome and his show is stake sauce!
I'm so mad right now!!!!
Yay!!For Amazing Race and Homeland too!!
ReplyDeleteSo very happy for Danes,Lewis and Homeland i knew they had to be recognized for there work, this show is incredible!
ReplyDeleteI was surprised The Hatfield & McCoys didn't win for best mini series but am glad Kevin Costner won!
Couldn't care less about the sitcoms.
I was so happy about Homeland, they won all the awards and it was well deserved (just a little personal pleasure when I've seen that my OTP matching emmys last night... just saying)
ReplyDeleteI am so so happy for Homeland. I may not agree with the nominees in its entirely and the way they snub genre shows (The Walking Dead, Fringe) and some other performances (Jennifer Carpenter) but nevertheless, this is the show I wanted to see winning big big time in its categories and it did. I never thought Claire Danes would loose, but I didnt see Damien or the show itself winning it. I was super excited about it. It's stuff like this that makes me coming back to the Emmys, even when I don't agree with most of what they do.
ReplyDeleteThe comedy cateogy is another story. I am a big Modern Family fan and I think they deserve all the recognition they get, but even I think there was some stuff overrated. I could not agree with the Eric Stonestreet win (even the nomination I think was a strecht, given the caliber of the other potential nominees). And this is not because I am just hating Modern Family, I simply think Ty Burell or even Ed O Neil this year would be much better suited to win, or even Max Greenfield. My pick would be Ty Burell, who I think never never fails to be amazing, I thought Eric was just wrong. Julie Bowen winning was fine, but I would have preferred Sofia, even though is just a personal preference here. The lead actors were a big mess. John Cryer is one of the biggest wtf moments in the Emmys history. That Joel McHale was not nominated is a travesty of epic proportions, but that John Cryer beats Jim Parsons is just ridiculous and there is no way I can see it as a personal preference. Objectively, it just makes no sense. I don't like Veep at all, so I don't understand how that show was nominated, neither how it managed to get her leading lady a nomination. I don't understand why some performances are shut out because they are not in "cool" shows but then some shows are brough in just because they have this "cool" performer, it's insane. The biggest issue with the comedy category in the end (apart from the ridiculous John Cryer win) are the nominations itself. Rewarding those cable comedies which, IMO, are much more dramatic than funny, is attrocious. Anyway, I prefer to focus on how happy I was for Homeland than getting into the comedy category, it just feels dumb this year.
It's ridiculous to me how Homeland beat Breakign Bad to Outstanding Drama Series. They're both great, but Breaking Bad is just so much better. Massively shocked and disappointed to wake up to that.
ReplyDeleteEven more so, Damian Lewis winning over Bryan Cranston. I cannot fathom their thoguht process with this one.
AARON PAUL = INCREDIBLE. So stoked for this one.
I thought Claire Danes should win, so congrats to her.
Modern Family deserved everything it got. Fantastic show with fantastic actors. I was disappointed for Max Greenfield since he was brilliant in New Girl.
Jessica Lange thoroughly deserved her award.
Oh, and gutted Vince Gilligan didn't win for his directing in 'Face Off' too.
P.S. Jon Cryer, seriously? He's good but come on...
Hey I agree with you! Awesome.
ReplyDelete#boycotttheemmys
ReplyDeleteI could see you being outraged if he had never received an Emmy for his work, but he has won 3 times for Breaking Bad..What annoys me is when the same person keeps winning year after year and others who are just as deserving never receive the recognition. To me i see it as spread the cheer, especially if the same person wins 3 or 4 years in a row..
ReplyDeleteAgreed on both of your first counts.
ReplyDeleteWell, if they base it off each season performance, what's the issue? Bryan Cranston has, imo, been better than anyone these last few years, every season. Just because he won 3 times before, doesn't mean he shouldn't win it again this year, especially since season 4 had been his strongest.
ReplyDeleteI never said there was an issue! All i said is at least he has already won, three times. We all have opinions, even the people who are voting, they decided Damian had what it took this year.
