Just keep the excitement in control, you never know what could happen next week. O_O It did premiere a full 1.3 points higher than I expected, and that's fantastic news.
Yeah I rarely go there, and when I do I read the numbers, no interpretations or comments...just the numbers. Because anything more is usually writhing with negativity.
Optimally, I hope it stays in the high 2.0s or even low 3.0s. Even if it ends up being annoying or not what I expected, I want NBC, Abrams, and Kripke all to have a hit... it's overdue. Not all shows have to be Breaking Bad or Lost/Fringe... (Although, I was REALLY hoping Revolution would be more like those shows than Terra Nova...)
What's worse is when they talk about other sites (like STV!) and say that they're the misguided and naive sites when it comes to ratings, when in reality it's just because TVBTN is just incredibly jaded when it comes to anything.
I do what @facebook-526023641:disqus does, just look at the #'s. I don't really want interpretations or predictions. TVbyTN isn't any more accurate with their predictions than most other sites and any sane person who follows ratings trends. Since finding SpoilerTV, I have only stopped by that other site once. I agree that their comments are full of really negative posters.
I like this site better than any other site for tv show info., since this site mostly just reports the facts, and has all the info. that I usually look for regarding any show (i.e., promos, news, interviews, etc.). Plus, I usually check out the comments here because there is mostly polite, good posts.
Yep, we don't try too much to put our own spin on things. We just like to post the info.. that is apart from our reviewers who post their thoughts/opinions etc :)
EXACTLY! Even if the show does not improve much and I stop watching I want it to succeed. It may not be something I enjoy much, and not near on the level of the series you mentioned, but more Sci-Fi and serialized TV is a good thing.
Yes, I think even consistent mid 2.0s would be sufficient for NBC, but that low 3.0s was more of a personal hope than what I would expect NBC to approve of.
I appreciate you moderators a lot, here. You are all doing a great job. :)
TVbyTN has articles that are almost always negative, with negative headlines to incite page clicks (so, I agree with you there). I think negativity breeds negativity. If your content is negative, your posters will likely take your lead and make negative comments too. This is almost always what drives me away from one site to find another. A major reason I like SpoilerTV is that this site seems much more positive, or at least neutral. ;)
Totally agree. We do out best to stay neutral where possible, although with some shows like Whitney and The Neighbors we have to try hard as they are such bad shows lol
great start for Revolution. It will probably reduce next week... but if the show can keep the ratings even in the low 3s consistently, which it seems like this show may not have any problem doing considering the premiere audience, then it is definitely going to get renewed...
Yeah very true. I went on that site once during Chuck season 3 and damn. It's like a Niagara Falls of negativity over there. Of course, at that time Chuck deserved to be complained about because it was a disaster, but still. I haven't gone back to that site since. I greatly prefer this one.
Your 2nd paragraph is also exactly why I love coming here more than anywhere else. It has everything I want and like to see, read, and watch for all my shows, all in one place. Oh, and there's not so much negativity in the comments either lol. :)
Right now, NBC would probably kill for an hour-long drama that gets a 2.5 or better. They need all the ratings they can get. They've been in the cellar for a while now.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
If confirmed, that would be really big for Revolution, I was predicting something along the lines of 3.5, one full point less than that.
ReplyDeleteYES REVOLUTION!!! Finally a show that appears to be a hit for NBC!
ReplyDelete4.5! Wow! Great! :D
ReplyDeleteGood for Revolution!
ReplyDeleteWow, 4.5? TVbyTheNumbers only predicted a 3.0.
ReplyDeleteA very promising start for revolution, but I would expect a big drop next week when it faces non-repeat competition from established & popular shows.
ReplyDeleteRevolution could turn out to be this years Once Upon A Time, one that everyone thinks will flop turns out to be a hit. Mob Doctor flopped big time!
ReplyDeleteExactly! Can't wait to read their commenters reactions, this place is much nicer when it comes to shows like Fringe, Revolution, Nikita etc.
ReplyDeleteWhat a surprise! Great for Revolution. But not such a surprise for a Mob Doc.
ReplyDeleteYep, the comments over at TVBYTN is pretty much a cesspool. No moderation and no respect for other people
ReplyDeleteI think they said the pilot would do big (well not like 4.5 big) but it would dwindle down to like low 2's....which I guess is ok for NBC.
ReplyDeleteOh my god, 4.5? How accurate are these ratings? That would be insane, way beyond my expectations (I would be thrilled about it though)
ReplyDeleteThey did get the flopping of The Mob Doctor right if you go by these numbers, lol!
ReplyDeleteGreat number for Revolution :)
ReplyDeleteSo officially, Revolution got a 4.1 and The Mob Doctor get's a 1.5. Ouch
ReplyDeleteWhere did you see that?
ReplyDeleteDitto that! XD

ReplyDeleteTotally. The site owners are just interested in page hits and generate hate filled post titles to rile people up.
ReplyDeleteWhat's worse is when they talk about other sites (like STV!) and say that they're the misguided and naive sites when it comes to ratings, when in reality it's just because TVBTN is just incredibly jaded when it comes to anything.
ReplyDeleteAnything between low 3's and high 2's is good enough for NBC!
ReplyDeleteHa yes, they don't like it when anyone steps on their "turf".
ReplyDeleteThey slated our Cancellation Index and seemed most put out when I said "it was just for fun ... remember that".
;)

ReplyDeleteI had/have no plans to watch Mob Doctor.

ReplyDeleteAgreed. Last night was an easy win for NBC because nothing else has premiered yet. Next Monday, oh man, that's when the real test will start.

ReplyDeleteYep, I bet there were some relieved folks at NBC this morning :)
ReplyDeleteIt will be interesting to see how Revolutions ratings hold up over the next couple of weeks, especially with the fierce competition of H50 and Castle.
It's a great start but I guess the number will decline next week with the return of Castle and Hawaii 5-0 (I think..?)
ReplyDelete@facebook-100002214578526:disqus Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Glad to have another like-minded individual around. :)
