  1. Subtle - it's what this promo isn't.

  2. Awful promo. And all the previous promos for this show were good. The CW always finds a way to f*ck up.

  3. Raising hell is the Winchesters job Mr. Queen.

  4. ahhh, the CW method to sell the "bad boy" angle with a brick....

  5. Yeah. It damn near borders on pandering.

  6. Am I the only person who really hated this promo? Ah...I see I'm not. Wonder if it's just that I'm not in the target demographic. What is it 13-22 year old females?

  7. ya. He totally stole Deans line...Son of a Bitch!

  8. Got to sell the show to the female crowd somehow :)

  9. More like underestimating it? I don't think all the girls watching the show will be doing it for the abs. No offense to those who do, though. But I think this is about The CW underestimating their female audience.

  10. Not even his hotness can save this awful, awful promo. It would have been better if they had just filmed him shirtless and said: "Arrow, blabla, on CW".

    Bad. Just bad.

  11. I agree with all of the comments, awful promo! I kind of understand why they did it though and I can overlook it if it brings the ratings to the show, so whatever, I am still very much looking forward to it!

  12. Arrow is a dark superhero show. Most women won't tune in to see something like that. It's not about undersetimating the audience. I'm sure they have data to back up such campaigns. Sure, if the show is good then people will stick, but displaying handsome hunk in the adds will convince many other viewers to tune in. Of course, it won't guarantee success for the show, but it will give the show runners a chance to convince viewers to stick for more episodes

  13. Do not like the promo. Like everyone saying this is a way to demean the female audience, and also the character of Green Arrow/Oliver Queen. Why are they glorifying doing bad things, are women supposed to fall for it and be like wow I so want to watch this show to see this guy treating women like crap. This isn't good for Green Arrow either, he doesnt do bad things because he thinks its cool and hipppie, he is a changed man trying to do whats right. Thats what CW should be promoting.
There is so much that is wrong with this promo, not surprising looking at how Pedowitz think that women only watch to see hot men, and like bad boys. He has a stereotypical view of the network's audience.

Stop this rubbish CW you are tainting the show with misogyny.

  16. I get your point, but this promo still rubs me off the wrong way.

  17. Um, yuck. Aren't promos supposed to make you like a show?

  18. Agree. They would have been better off just selling the abs. Selling "I'm a d-bag but I'm cute, so hero worship me" is harder to accomplish and mildly insulting.
