  5. Last year was an amazing year for me, I find that some of my current favorite shows come from last year's crop. I am really looking forward to Homeland, Once Upon a Time, Revenge, Person of Interest, Scandal and New Girl. These really are among my favorite shows, looking forward to all of these! I've voted for Homeland, Once Upon a Time and Revenge, even though it killed me to leave New Girl out, but as much as love it, drama usually trumphs comedy in my book, as good as the comedy is. Also excited about the return of Don't Trust the Bitch in Apartment 23, but it was so short the season that even though I loved it, it doesnt feel like a past year show.

    WHere is Fringe??

  7. It wasn't a new show last year. This is only for the shows entering their second season.

  8. I have also seen the entire first season of Hart of Dixie. While I have done it mostly for Bilson, I find it a cute show, even though it really isn't the type of show I normally like. I think I am too busy during season though, it's a good show to catch up on marathons during holidays; I think I prefer it that way ;)

  11. I'm so glad OUAT is doing so well... At first before it even aired last year and all that was shown of it was the wedding scene from the pilot I was worried because that one scene did look a bit corny and had the potential of turning alot of people off from watching the show.

  12. Fringe was not a new show last year :)

    ReplyDelete
  13. Once upon a Time, Revenge, Scandal rounds my top 3 but I'm also really looking forward to 2 Broke Girls.

  14. Homeland, Hart of Dixie and American Horror Story ;)

  15. OUAT, Homeland, New Girl, Scandal, Grey's, Castle and AHS that's for sure =)

  16. 1. American Horror Story
    2. Homeland
    3. It's a tie between Once Upon A Time and Person Of Interest. (vote goes to Person Of Interest).

Sunday and Tuesday are pretty crowded for me. Monday night very, very nostalgic (*sighs*). Staying up by night in the middle of the week for Supernatural is a change. I just hope that Elementary is a good show. I just need a Holmesian creature in my weekly routine. That's all :)

  17. Hart of Dixie, New Girl, Scandal

Hart of Dixie, because it is a show without all the intense and difficult plots, which is a nice change from some of the other shows I watch

New Girl, do I need to explain? Can't wait to see more Schmidt, because while that guy is an absolute douche, he is refreshingly sure about himself. + I wanna see Jess and Nick spend more time together and realize that they are more than just friends.

Scandal, because I hate cliffhangers and this one has me guessing since I have no clue where they are going with the "who's Quinn" story line.

Once upon a Time was my fourth option, but bringing the magic back at the end of season two does not make me wonder what is going to happen because it is too obvious.

Ok I could go on, I have like 20 other shows (although not returning new shows) on my list which had jaw dropping final moments last season... I know that if I had to choose three of all the shows I watch including the returning new shows, these four would not make it into my top 3. 1: TVD; 2: Grey's; and 3: BBT and Modern Family (last two are tied on the third place).

Just New Girl and Suburgatory for me, never really got into anything else last year, not sure why.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Homeland - which was by far the best new show of 2011

Up All Night - I think if it gets the chance it can make the leap from good to great comedy like Parks and Rec did.

Revenge - Yeah I am a late comer to this show but damn I am an addict now

  34. Voted for Revenge, Homeland and OUAT.
Homeland is a terrific show, very well-written with two complex, multilayered protagonists. Claire Danes and Damian Lewis gave fantastic performances and their various award nominations are well-deserved. Plus, the plot is suspenseful and tense and it touches on real themes of paranoia and terrorism that are all-too-relevant post 9/11.
Revenge is a daytime soap, but it's a damn good one. It's slick, smart and well-made, with a fast-paced plot and endless twists and turns. When done right, it's fun to watch the various schemes and manipulations of rich people trying to destroy each other.
I wasn't sure whether to vote for OUAT, because I'm unsure about my opinion on that show. It was wildly uneven during Season 1, with some great episodes and some really weak, boring ones. The plot was way too slow-moving for me. However, I guess I was still entertained enough to stick with it so I'll check out Season 2. The double game-changer of magic being unleashed and everyone getting their memories back has potential, and I'm excited to see all the new fairytale characters like Hook, Mulan and Sleeping Beauty. This show still has the fun, light-hearted appeal of being about fairy tales, and I like seeing new twists on the familiar stories.
Person of Interest is a good show, but I got bored pretty quickly because I don't like procedurals. Maybe I'll give it another go and see if an interesting serialized storyline develops.

  45. A number of shows on this list. But my top three are (we're not counting early returns like Grimm?)

    1) Person of Interest
    2) The Lying Game
    3) Revenge

The Lying Game is the shocker. I didn't expect to ever be eager to see an ep of this show. Heck I didn't expect to watch more than 2 eps.

Also on my list (in terms of 'looking forward to')

    4) Once Upon a Time
    5) Scandal

    6) 2 Broke Grils

    ReplyDelete
  46. I went with AHS, Revenge and The Lying Game, but I'm also looking forward to OUAT, New Girl, 2 Broke Girls, Hart of Dixie, Scandal, Smash, Apartment 23 and Suburgatory!

  53. Revenge, Suburgatory and DTTBIA23.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Its like you read my mind with your comments concerning OUAT, that's exactly what I think.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I listed Unforgettable because it is a cop show with a difference, also being Australian I like to see Aussie actors.

  63. Once Upon a Time, Revenge and Smash

    ReplyDelete
  64. If i have to pick three (and they are ALL very different) it's American Horror Story, Once Upon A Time and Up All Night.

American Horror Story - The teasers have me excited, really, that's the only reason.

OUAT - Love this show - it's one of the few "must watch" shows left for me these days.

Up All Night - Sounds odd perhaps - but I love this show. I think it has something to do with my wife and I connecting with the characters (though we lack the child story-line in our lives, but I'm pretty sure we'd do a lot of the silly things they do).

    ReplyDelete
  65. I loved that scene when they released it. When the show you are interested is based on fairy-tales a little cheesiness is to be expected.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Revenge, 2 broke girls and scandal
If I could fvote for another 3 it would also be POI, OUAT and New Girl

    ReplyDelete
  67. Revenge
    Homeland
    Up all night
    Apartment 23
    Once Upon a time
    Suburgatory
    AHS
    New Girl

  68. "Person of Interest", "Once Upon A Time" and "Homeland".
They are the best new shows of the 2011-2012 season!

  69. 1) Revenge
    2) Homeland
    3) Scandal

Once Upon A Time,2 Broke Girls and Don't Trust the Bitch.

  71. Once Upon a Time, Revenge and American Horror Story.

Once Upon a Time - I can't wait until the Charming family reunion, that is my main focus for this show when it comes back. Uber looking forward to the mother daughter bonding time that they shall have, also how Emma will feel about the whole thing, after all both actresses are only 1 year apart in age (Morrison being the younger).

Revenge - Arghhh! I hate Fauxmanda, she needs to GET OFF JACK! Also what happened to Emily's mother? Shall be a good topic for the season. And I have to say, I never thought I would like Nolan as much as I do now, he is truly awesome, and I love his relationship with "Ems".

American Horror Story - Just a simple "WOAH". I enjoyed last season a great deal. And the sneak peeks for this latest season have got me revved up a whole month in advance. Jessica Lange as a Nun and Chloe Sevigny as a nymphomaniac, only good things can happen.

What with this show? It has the best marketing ever (maybe not actual ads) and no one bloody knows about it.
