Thanks to Doug for the heads up.
Both Ryan and Axel Foley himself Eddie Murphy are pitching the idea of an hour-long series to the big four networks (ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX) this week. Deadline is reporting that the show would serve as a sequel to movie franchise of sorts only it would center on Foley’s son who moves to Beverly Hills to escape the shadow of his legendary dad. (Hmm, that seems like the last place he would want to go considering his father’s past exploits.)
Murphy is set to reprise his role as Axel in occasional recurring guest appearances.

This is about a decade too late and it should have been a series adaptation starring the Axel Foley character instead of a spinoff where he's occasionally featured.
ReplyDeleteI am confused as to why someone with Shawn Ryan's talent is getting involved in something like this which seems like its DOA
ReplyDeleteWouldn't Shawn Ryan being the show-runner mean that there is a good chance it could be good and throw in Eddie Murphy in the role that made him a star on a recurring basis. Wouldn't cal it DOA.
ReplyDeleteman i loved Beverly Hills cop! But the 3rd one was my favorite...this might have potential
