Thanks to Bruce

Even though Matt Davis is starring in the new CW midseason thriller "Cult," all signs point to yes for his return next season to "The Vampire Diaries."

The actor, who played staked vampire Alaric on the fangbanger hit, confirmed today (July 13) at Comic-Con that he has talked to "The Vampire Diaries" producers about his coming back.

"I think there are plans to come back, the capacity of which I'm not sure," he said.

  1. He is dead. What is he comin back as? A Ghost? Flashbacks? Hopefully they'll not revive him. The dead should stay dead.

  2. Agree. Otherwise the whole thing becomes pointless.

  3. the only way has to be a ghost period like a messenger to communicate with both realms succesfuly

  4. yayy! i know it won't be for a lot of time because of his new show but I'm still glad well see him!

  5. No surprise there. Death is utterly pointless in TVD.

  6. The Dead have not been staying dead as of lately in TVD, In fact they have not had capability to STAY DEAD since the end of S1.

Thats one of biggest flaws of this show.

Oh god this is turning into the third season of Heroes.

  7. I sort of agree with you, except TVD tends to go the route of ghosts (which normally only Jeremy can see), rather than Heroes Clair Blood (which was a large part of what ruined Heroes IMO). If Matt Davis only comes back as a ghost to Jeremy, I could possibly tolerate it, but if he returns for good it ruins not only the goodbye he got, but basically the show (for the reasons you provided).

  8. Well, Jeremy is going to need some dead people to see. I'm sure Alaric will be just one of many.

  9. If he returns
it's just form time to time as ghost (like Anna or Vicky). Even if it is
possible to bring someone back from the dead, it can't be him. He is in a new
show. So, if they don't clone him …

  10. Serious question:

    If you hate
the show so much (since the one thing you can do is complaining), why you keep
    on watching it?

    Wanna see
dead people stay dead? Watch Dexter. S7 is gonna be a killer.

    And what's wrong
with heroes now? Except Sylar being like a NY rat. No matter what you do he
still comes back (but he was hot).

  12. What's wrong with Heroes?!!! Are you sure you're serious?

  13. God. Julid Plec and her hard-on for hot guys. Can she focus on making her storytelling more coherent soon, instead of being such a damn one trick pony?

  14. Hey, I liked the show (Heroes). You didn't?

Everyone has his own genres. If you're not into syfy, you're probably more a CSI/Bones type. Or maybe a Big bang theory/How I met your mother type. We all have our favorites.

  15. That's my point. I can see it only being as a ghost. The only problem I had with the ghost storylines was how Matt was able to see them after drowning.

  16. Seriously? What's wrong with Heroes? Are you sure you want to ask that?

Heroes is textbook example on what NOT to do with the show. its a
Miracle Tim Kring was even allowed to work on The Touch now after what
    he did in that show.

Heroes started as a good show in the first season and quickly ended up a
sa pile of fundamental writing mistakes, character revivals,
logic-defying actions, crackship romances and retcons.

Heroes embodies EVERYTHING on what one should NOT do in writing.

It has NOTHING to do with the genre the show is set in.

The show is scheduled for midseason (and only with 10 episodes), so Davis should have some time when they're shooting TVD. Possibly a multi episode arc or something, I think.

  18. Well, I agree, that the show had mistakes. It wasn't perfect. What is? There is no such thing as perfection.

Some things were complicated and made no sense. But hey it's a syfy show. You can't expect it to be logical. It's just entertainment, honey. Not real life.

You want something easy and logical, nothing supernatural that sometimes makes no sense (cause sometimes it's explained later)? Watch reality shows or sitcoms.

I liked it. You didn't? Fine. No one is forcing you to watch. Watch what you want. It's a (relatively) free world.

And didn't you say that TVD is the perfect sample or how to not do a show? Now it's Heroes?

You really should start writing own books and shows. Seriously. It's not a joke or sarcasm. You seem to have a clear idea of character design and storytelling. Give it a try. Start with a short story. Maybe you can find someone to publish it.

  19. This may be news to you, but not liking Heroes is not equal to not liking syfy. But thanks for jumping to conclusions and stereotyping!

I didn't like Heroes because past season 1, the show was shit and I have standards. But that's just mine and many others' opinions considering its rating slide, and how much it was panned by critics and the audience. Borednow did a pretty good recap of what ~we believe went wrong, so I won't repeat him/her since you've already rebuffed it quite eloquently with logics, pffffttt... paraphrased of course.

  20. I didn't jump into conclusions. I just said, that everyone has his genres and his favorites.

We are 7 billion people. That means 7 billion individuals. I like horror and syfy. That doesn’t mean that I watch (or like) every show or movie with that genre. Not even close!

"Rebuffed it quite eloquently with logics" I just meant, that (of course) in a syfy show some thinks don't make sense and are hard to understand. Some people have their problems with that, cause they want to understand how things work and they don't understand why the thinks are as they are (in the show). That's all. That is why I stopped watching Lost. I just didn't get what it was all about. Sometime I had my problems with Heroes too.

  21. I don't know where GuinevereDeRaymaeker got their info from but the Vampire Diaries Season 4 is not going to be only 10 episodes,
CW and the producers have confirmed that they have been green lit for
an extra episode this season which will make a total of 23 episodes this
fourth Season. You can find out more on Zapit.
