According to HBO, the Aaron Sorkin drama set behind the scenes of a cable news network is replacing about half of its writing staff, though one source close to the show tells The Hollywood Reporter that everyone on the show's writing staff except for Corinne Kinsbury has been let go. News of the shakeup was first reported by The Daily.

Not sure what to think about this. I like the writing on the show so far. As long as Aaron Sorkin is still actively involved in the show, and writing some (most) of the episodes.
ReplyDeleteIs Aaron Sorkin a writer? 'Cause I have no or very little faith that this show will keep up its pace without the Sorkin-blend.
ReplyDeleteYes, Aaron Sorkin is a writer. He won the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay for "The Social Network."
ReplyDeleteOh damn it, this just reminded me that I forgot to watch Sunday's episode OnDemand. Have to do stuff today, so it may have to wait awhile.
ReplyDeleteYes he is,Aaron is an outstanding writer! If you have never seen The West Wing watch it,you will see just how good he is! I don't know one person who hasn't liked that show, one of the best to come along in awhile.
ReplyDeleteThe saying "never change a winning team" comes to mind. I like (actually, love) Newsroom just the way it is.
ReplyDeleteI think this is a good thing, the balance in the episodes is off and I feel like they treat me as if I'm dumb. It's not Sorkin I think, but the other writers that bog down his style. I like it, but not as much as I thought I would since the balance in almost every episode seems off.
ReplyDeleteWith the West Wing I couldn't wait for the next episode, here I easily can. Also, to make my point, one of the writers is a former Mtv writer I believe. No good can come of that.
I'm not surprised at all that this has happened on an Aaron Sorkin show.
