Thanks to tvmonkey for the heads up.

After garnering interest from several networks, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci‘s Sleepy Hollow drama pitch has landed at Fox with a put pilot commitment. Underworld helmer Len Wiseman is on board to direct the the project, from 20th Century Fox TV and Kurtzman and Orci’s studio-based K/O Paper Products. Described as a modern–day supernatural thriller based on The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, it follows Ichabod Crane as he partners with Sleepy Hollow’s local female sheriff to solve the mysteries of a town ravaged by the battle between good and evil.

  1. What a put pilot means. Not everybody understands it.

A put pilot is a pilot that the network has agreed to air. If the network does not air the pilot episode, the network will owe substantial monetary penalties to the studio. Generally, this guarantees that the pilot will be picked up by the network.

  2. Thanks for explaining, I wasn't entirely sure, I thought it meant that they had to make the pilot rather than just ordering a script.

  6. Please read the line a second time. Chris Pine is top of his prime in Hollywood. Going from big blockbusters and so on to tv-work is a step back, for most actors.

  7. Think it depends on the lead really, Seeing how sci-fi seems all but dead on the main networks at least fantasy/supernatural shows are still getting picked up, I need the fix!

  8. Amazingly enough CW were chasing this project hard last I heard.

  9. In a way, the plot made me think of this being Fox's version of Grimm (just without the mention of fairy tale characters)....

  12. So is this the same pilot that was rumored to be picked up by the CW last week or are the CW and Fox both looking at Sleepy Hollow projects, a la Beauty and the Beast last time?

  13. I heard that there were 2 Sleepy Hollow projects that were getting attention so I'm not sure if this is the project the CW was rumored to have picked up last week or if this is the second project.

  14. Might be good. Creators of Fringe haven't disappointed me... yet :)

  16. Ugh, being put on FOX means the show will be more procedural than serial. Not a fan of that.
