thanks god luna and sam are ok ,the baby wolf stay with her grandparents for protection, alcide got a future female mate, erick try to glamour alcide fail thank to sookie intervention, roman deathl .uh.uh i want to see more meloni acting, russel the new chief .//NO WAY IN HELL.// .i vote for erick or bill, because the rest of the counselor .// SUCKS.//
So I think that Salome is behind everything, she was mighty fidgety in the celebration, but I could be wrong. Nora just strikes me as a pawn, not mastermind; someone inside the Authority is bringing it all down for sure (Was Kibwe the one that killed the bus full of humans? I wasn't paying attention; if he was, he definitely is sanguinista but I don't think he's working alone (Salome?) Either way, they brought Russel to kill roman and behead the Authority, nice move!.
I'm really liking this plot, it has a big room for speculation!
Eric knew Sookie would find out about the glamouring of Alcide, that was the point, it's his sense of humor. He knew she would see him acting weird and would look into his head and unglamour him, she just did it in the previous episode with Doug remember? He knows she can do this. As we can see, without copious amounts of alcohol, Sookie has no interest in Alcide.
Yeah, he really did do a good job. Amazing actor. I'm also very impressed with the actresses that play both Salome and Nora. They are both amazing. This episode was great I thought. The only boring part was Terry's s/l. So much hinted at about all these characters in the episode.
Bummer about Meloni's character, and that we only got to see one scene with Roman/Russell, but again the obvious "mystery vamp woman" is most likely Salome, but I'm still thinking that she might be Lilith herself. I recall reading that Russell was supposed to be a "changed vamp", but so far he seems pretty much the same. Looks like they've given the Alcide/Sookie shippers a taste, but it seems that they're sizing Alcide up to take over the pack with the she wolf as a possible romantic interest... Not sure where the human vs supes conflict is gonna go, but at least it's more interesting than the Terry plot. Liked the little bit of Lafayette's mother as well.
Yep, Eric was just being cute, and I would really like to see more interaction between him and Alcide in the future. Their hot-blooded vs. cool confidence, with a side of fraught history/fresh hostility and a dash of grudging complicity-almost-respect, and hey look! we're a couple of giant physical specimens who happen to be as Alpha male as they come! was just chemistry overload. And I don't even mean that in a sexual way (although, why not - Eric has sexual chemistry with all carbon-based life-forms... he should have more scenes with Jason...), just pure charisma.
Contrast the frenemy thing he has going with the relentlessly dorky and obsequious Bill (whose constant prissiness even when attempting to be a hardass is just one of the many reasons I love him) - less intensity but more humor, and I honestly can't decide which I enjoy more.
Fun Stuff!
PS. I do think your assertion that Sookie has no interest in Alcide without the help of alcohol is canonically untrue. She may not be in love with him, but the show has illustrated a definite attraction on her part more than once. Enough to tease the idea that she's had him on the backburner for awhile. (In fact, correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to recall Sookie heading over to Alcide all pretty and ready to flirt at the start of last season before getting blindsided by Debbie... and then picking up that horrific pod version of Eric for the rest of S4).
Favorite scene...Lafayette's visit with his mother.
The Authority story has been fairly boring the last couple of eps. I'm dubious about having Russell back on the scene because I'm just not sure they can top the havoc he raised when we first met him.
I doubt that Eric or Bill will become the guardian and I disagree with you on what you feel about the council. I have a feeling that they will do more now that Roman is dead. My other feeling is Russell will not be guardian for very long. He's insane.
I do believe my favorite quote of the episode goes to Russell as he was being taken away by the Authority... "You might as well be praying to leprechauns, or unicorns, or the mother f-ing Kardashians..." I also enjoyed Eric's moment of indulgence when he glamored Alcide to be disgusted by Sookie romantically... I laughed aloud at both of those moments. I also enjoyed the scene with Lafayette and his mother... that was great.
And wow, I definitely wasn't expecting them to end Chris Meloni's guest spot this quickly! I enjoyed his stint, however short-lived, though.
There's so many people who think Roman isn't dead. HBO commentary on this episodes states that he is. Plus people need to realize that IMDB isn't accurate at all, fans list actors in episodes they aren't even in. Just because we didn't see Roman dead, doesn't mean he's alive. He's also was the head of the vampire authority so he has a much different death than the ordinary vampires, including Chanceller Drew for that matter.
Except for a few minor highlights, I didn't much care for this episode.
- As I feared, the Terry storyline is a complete bore. - The Fairy storyline continues to move slower than molasses and isn't very interesting so far. - There was hardly any Pam in this episode. - Hoyt is still alive so that's disappointing. - I like the idea of Sam helping Andy with his investigation. It's definitely working in Andy's favor so far. - Layfayette's scene with his mother was a lot of fun. - I thought the "morning after" scene at Sookie's place with Alcide was amusing. - I'm glad Luna is okay but I wish her grandmother would just go away. - Since when does the Authority's tech girl get to hang out with all of the Chancellors? I count myself as a Tina Majorino fan but her lingering presence after removing Eric and Bill's iStakes didn't make much sense, especially for an organization with such a strict hierarchy as The Authority. - I've been very suspicious for a few episodes but now I'm convinced that Salome is pulling the Sanguinista strings. - I'm getting the distinct impression that everyone is going to end up declaring war on everyone else by the end of the season. So far, the list goes:
*humans vs. supes *vampires vs. humans *vampires vs. vampires *werewolves vs. vampires *fairies vs. vampires
I'm actually sad that they already killed roman! he was actually a very interesting character and i think sookie this season has been so much better then the past seasons! especially these last 2 episodes and i wish they had just killed tara she is just so annoying!
I think it depends on how many of them are Sangunistas...If Nora and/or Salome have planned this for their cause, then they may want Russell to be their poster boy...But clearly, despite that Russell enjoys and believes in killing humans, he surely doesn't like the Biblical-Theological aspect of connecting it with something bigger than theirselves...He seems like a rebel with out a cause.
But if the Council doesn't completely fall apart (or their isn't mass bloodshed) I could see Bill pitch in to be the next "Authority"/Gardien, as Bill often seems to be interested in political gain...and to say to what end, since I think Salome was right in telling Roman that Bill is still looking for something, is hard to know. On one hand Bill seems to like having authority, but I can't decide if it's to be able to protect the one's he cares about or not. -But it could be that this is going to play out further for some unkown reason pertaining to Lilith and/or a prophecy, and Salome might just take over...
The episode synopsis for the next episode surely suggest that Roman is no longer there... There's always FB's, and since Eddie was able to transcend from beyond the grave last season, who knows maybe Roman's ghost/spirit will come back to haunt someone, or take someone over, but I think the saddest part was not seeing any scenes with him and Sookie ):
i dont think salome will turn out to be lilith it would be prodictable i think shes been played to make us thing its her, if i had to guess i would say it was her that sticks the istakes on people as we really didont need to have her intoract with them as much as she and then russell's istake was set off to kill him it didont work
Did not expect Roman to go so quickly. Well played HBO, you really caught me out and that is not something that happens too often! Kind of thought with all the hype surrounding him on the show he'd be there until episode 11 at least.
So far this season is way better than last season, but they still need to trim the dull adn pointelss storylines. I love Terry, but as a supporting character. Giving him a story line of his own is unecessary and taking time away from the other stories and characters that are working so much better.
Effing fairies! Can we just get on with it already, is it just me or is that story line moving painfully slow. It has potential and I actually like it better than the Authority story line (especially since Chris Meloni has met the true death). Sookie actually shouldn't want to be human, she'll be way more vulnerable (and I think she would still be able to hear other people's thoughts as a kicker) and there's no way she'll ever be able to have a normal life at any rate unless she moved away and never came back.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
WOW!! I was right about Russell killing Roman!! Sad to see Meloni's character come to to end but he did an outstanding job. Way to go Meloni!!

Claude's sisters names were a hoot.
