Is Donna really leaving? It was a weird ending because Donna really did make A LOT of bad decisions in this ep. So I'm left wondering if that was a trick ending meant for effect and we can expect to see Donna in the future, or it the woman that plays Donna really is leaving the show??? Any input?
Do you think she's really leaving? I just read a Q&A with the creator that alludes to her maybe still being in the series around episode 9. Though, I almost wish she was leaving because I don;t think I could bear them having any type of romantic relationship between Harvey and Donna...
wow, I did NOT see that ending happening, but given the circumstances, I'm not sure what resolution could be reached. Wonderful work by Sarah R, but you just have to figure that Donna will be back somehow/someway as she has definitely become a huge fan fave, but kudos to the writers for having the stones to cook up and execute this twist in the storyline....
How is Harvey a jerk? History or not, Donna made a lot of stupid decisions in this episode. What made her think she couldn't trust Harvey and just TELL him that she had missed the memo four years ago?
She has to come back gulp! I think that with Harvey going off the deep end and being reckless, and not in control this will lead to Donna being rehired again,or at least i think she will, hope she will!
I'm not talking about hiding that memo, I admit she in wrong to do that, but srsly for someone who worked with him for 6 years, you'd really kick her out that easily???? not even daring to look even sorry about it.. they could have handled that way better than this.. that's what my comment was about..
It wasn't his decision. It was Jessica's. You and Mike, what was Harvey supposed to do? Harvey doesn't run the firm or the legal system. He was devestated to see her go, wanted to tell her himself. But it wasn't his call. Right from the beginning Donna knew, Harvey knew, if someone missed that memo, then someone was getting fired. "Tell me who to fire." If she hadn't destroyed it, maybe he could have saved her job, but probably not, she broke the law and got the firm embroiled in a huge lawsuit.
That is not to say that I don't love love love Donna. That I didn't feel so bad for her, and that I'm not holding my breath waiting for her to come back somehow. Just that you can't blame Harvey.
Still thought what I thought before. I don't like self-righteous Mike. He burned bridges with the agent all for something silly because he didn't do any investigation of his own before he accused the dad of child abuse. Of course they could emancipate the kid to go play pro (he looked like 27 anyway), and arguing to not do what a client came to them to do because he knows better? He met the kid for like five minutes. He knew so little about the relationship he jumped right on the abuse thing without even questioning. Mike lives in "he's always right" lala land, but it's not like he's willing to address the injustices of the world, he took one look at poor guy taking care of Lois's cat and walked away. Blaming Harvey for Donna getting fired? What did he think would happen?
okay! I just read ur comment after I watched the episode again (twice) & I admit, my protectiveness of Donna got the best of me (I was def. freaking out about her leaving).. Apologies Harvey fans!
To talk about the whole matter I have to rewatch this episode with a little help from my friendly subs (English is not my mother language and I have to say that some dialogues are really too brilliant to understand them :D). But I have to say a couple of things: 1) I love when a tv-show shows unknown traits of a character to its audience: the story is always dynamic and moves much more fluently (the emotional, less arrogant Harvey of Break Point is a clear example: the scene where he excuses himself is great); 2) they take us away Donna Paulsen (who doesn't love her? She HAS to come back) and they gave us a dramatic end: the moment where Jessica confronts her is chilling and powerful. Kudos to Sarah Rafferty. Anticipation, realization and sorrow in just one look. Surprising and so tender, instead, the scene between Rachel and Louis. The promo doesn't look good but I love drama and angst.
i can't believe they actually fired her!!! i didn't really like how they did it i feel like harvey should have been the one to actually fire her but i hope she comes back!
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteMike has another ability, reading micro-expressions!?! Wow, I didn't know that having eidetic memory can also give you that kind of ability as well.
Well, can wait for the Rampaging Harvey Specter. Should be fun :)
