I watched it based on one single recommendation from a Canadian TV commentator. You see enough commercials with Sigourney Weaver because it airs on Bravo Canada, so I had no expectations going in. So enjoyable was the pilot. I love how the episode flowed from beginning to end. I finally got Elaine's fascination with elephants in the end. :) The rest of cast of characters were interesting. Looking forward to watching further.
I just got around to watching this and... well... I'm glad it's a limited series. It's interesting enough for me to stick around for six installments but that's as far as I'd be willing to go with something like this anyway.
Political Animals doesn't seem like anything special and the whole first episode was held up by the performances of Burstyn, Gugino, and Weaver. The material they're given isn't "A" material but they do a good job with it.
The show is engaging enough to follow-up on but for anyone wondering, it's not "must see."
Random speculation: Somehow I get the feeling that Susan Berg is going to end up being Barrish's secret daughter she gave up for adoption as a teenager or some schlock like that because that woman is WAY too invested in Elaine Barrish.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
It was a really great show! Although the sex scenes were awkward to watch because my grandma's next to me. Sigourney Weaver is a HBIC.
ReplyDeleteWill definitely keep watching.

I think the acting definitely makes it worth the watch. Nothing groundbreaking but quite fun.
