Kyra knocked it out of the park on that last scene. It gave a beautiful example of how much they worked on her character throughout the years. Just compare the Brenda we saw on last night's episode (final scene) and Brenda from the first seasons.
I've just been collecting the episodes of this season (with the exception of the Provenza episode) because I'm so worried I'm going to hate the way the series ends. There've just been so many pieces like her father being sick, it looking like she's being drummed out of the LAPD and, the promos of Brenda and Pope fighting... that I haven't been able to watch. I started the first ep back and turned it off in the middle of the teaser.
You and I are of like mind, my dear. I saw a few minutes of that first episode, but got a little despondent, so I stopped watching. I'll be saving the ep's until the season is over too. I am really worried. The synopses for these last few ep's seem really dreary to me. The direction of these final ep's seem to indicate that Brenda Leigh Johnson's only endings on the show (and the Major Crimes job), is with either a resignation (to be with her family), or firing. Neither of which seem particularly respectful of the talent, time, dedication, and success Deputy Johnson seemed to bring to that job for all these years. I loved this show in its early seasons, and still value it as good TV. I really hope to see Brenda Lee finish out her run on top, as Chief of Police. If not in LA, then in Atlanta. Here's hoping.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
