Once Upon A Time - Season 2 - Will they travel to Oz?

"What's interesting is if you go back and look at the pilot, there's a page of flying monkeys in Henry's book," executive producer Edward Kitsis says. "If I would go back and re-watch it — or buy the DVD coming out in August — and you pause on the book, you might see it."

The scene in question is when Emma crashes her car and the book goes flying. "The book flips through a number of pages. There are glimpses of images, one of which are the flying monkeys from Oz," executive producer Adam Horowitz adds.

There are no current plans to venture to Oz in Season 2, but the producers are leaving the door open, an ABC rep said.

  1. I hope not,if they keep on expanding we'll never get to know the characters backstory.We'll never have a story,it will become so diluted it won't be worth watching.

  2. I hope, so they bring Adebisi back to life.

  3. I'm not adverse to it, but they really need to get a handle on their own mythology first. Things slid around a lot in Season 1

  4. Sounds great, as long as they don't make it painfully obvious CGI like Wonderland.

  5. They already set up that there's at least as many as 20 different worlds in Hat Trick :)

  6. Well if they have many more i will just have to see how it goes,and if i don't like it i will just stop watching......

  7. I hope we do see Oz at some point...I think Ruby/Red should triple as Dorothy...

  8. I would love it too but they really need to stay on track right now and focus on the established characters and the characters they are introducing this season.Its a pretty heavy load they are carrying.

  9. I agree. I think it would be great for a middle of season 3 storyline, but I do think it would be wiser to get a little more into these dynamics of an unaged Olivia dealing with her closly aged daughter Etta, errrrr I mean Snow/Mary Margaret and Emma (;

    And I am hopeful that Cora, Blue Fairy, Dr. Whale, and Belle will be a little more explored as well, let alone I am with J.M. in that I would like to look at Emma's upbringing in the Land Without Magic and see how magicless it really was (;

  10. Red as Dorothy? I hadn't thought of that. Great idea! I'm up for it. But, like others have said, I would prefer to settle some of the current storylines, including Wonderland, before opening more portals/'lands'. Also, crappy CGI is just not tolerable. I hope they hire a new CGI dept./team (like the Fringe one).

  11. Sounds like a good idea for a third season. :)

    They have enough places to go already with all the new characters.

  12. Yes that's its exactly,if they don't explore Belles,Cora,Dr.Whale,and the Blue Fairy first,before they intro the new characters that is where they are going to dilute the story..There will be just too many characters....I imagine the new characters will be treated like the guest characters were before they became regulars...or at least i would like it that way If they want more characters fine just make sure everyone who was there before is well established! whew!

    There is one character we forgot,Pinocchio! They said we would fined out what happened to him!

  13. Really, there CGI sucks big time! Considering Disney is involved you would think they would have if not the best CGI dept,pretty damn close!

  14. I think the producers put the nod to Oz in there in the hopes that they could eventually find a way to fit those characters in. I don't believe they had a plan in place at the time.

  15. Yeah even this Captain Hook thing brings "Neverland" into it, doesn't it (wonder if it will be apart of fairy tale land or it's own reality)?!??? Ah-ha! I see a potential mermaid crossover....

  16. I'd be interested in seeing what flying monkeys look like in the Once Upon a Time universe...

  17. Oh, so that's what the flying monkeys were all about!!! That's been bugging me for ages, but I just assumed it was a tongue-in-cheek reference to the expression.

  18. Ha! Under the sea,just you and me......i took one look at the pictures and the song starts playing in my head.going round and round,oh no,it won't stop! It has the potential to be a never ending show! The possibilities are endless,between FTL,Storybrook,the other realities its mind boggling if you think about it..If they keep going they will need to start making more episodes per year in order to keep up!
