Game of Thrones - Season 3 - Iwan Rheon is Cast

Early fan favorite to play Ramsay, Iwan Rheon has been cast in Game of thrones.
Iwan Rheon is an Olivier Award-winning Welsh stage and television actor and singer, and a graduate of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.

His agency CV says he will play the role of "Boy", which does make some sense considering how the character is introduced. Although I hope his rhyming moniker makes its way into the series as well!

No offical word from HBO on the casting or the specific role, but he was spotted with cast members at a Belfast pub. Personally I think if his CV says he is cast - he is cast.

  1. Another one the fans got right!
I had others I preferred in the role, but Rheon was one if the early favorites and rightfully so it appears!
His eyes certainly make him the perfect candidate for the Bastard of Bolton.

  4. Wow, if the Ramsay Bolton fangirls were cray cray before, now it will reach earth-shattering levels. I'm actually afraid.

  6. Awesome Awesome Awesome! If he's Ramsay he's perfect. Many a time he creeped me out/was too badass in Misfits.

  9. I don't know him or the character he will be playing but geez, those eyes! The more i look at him the creepier he gets! And having the flash/lights reflect in his pupils adds to the overall affect!

  11. hmmm i think considering his acting style so far and the reference to boy as well its more likely he is
    Edric Storm

  12. That is another possibility for sure. The other role mentioned is the boy at the inn that has a crossbow, but that role is obscenely small and I ruled it out.

Edric is not a big enough role either in my mind for Rheon. They could certainly expand the role though I guess.

Guess we wait and see until HBO lets us know or until some filming details slip out...

    What character is "boy" ?

  14. No one knows for sure yet.

There is a "boy" that Brienne and Jaime meet on the road or at the inn (I forget), but it is a tiny tiny part and Rheon would not be that small a role. Of course as Renne mentions below it could be the boy, Edric Storm. Many people think it is Ramsay and they will not reveal his identity right away, much like he was called Reek in the books.
I think he fits Edric Storm fairly well, but I would be shocked if Rheon took that small of a role. So I think he will be Ramsay like the majority I guess.

  16. From the sound of a witness on the set who saw some Theon scenes being filmed Iwan Rheon will be Ramsay. His name may not be revealed at first though, much like he was Reek in the books at first, he may be "boy" at first in the series.... Who knows.

Here is the report from the set visitor.... it is very SPOILERY!
