Gorgeous! First time seeing it, so thank you very much for sharing. Personally I think it's the best one yet... And can't wait for the season premiere, followed by the return of "Damages" the next day and "Breaking Bad" on the 15th! Gotta love summer.
explain to me a show about con man and fbi agent partnership but we only get neal on the posters? every year same thing. show is about partnership they should show it also on poster. JMO
I think it's because in the end, the show is about Neal. He could leave the FBI and be a con man for the entire next season and I wouldn't bat an eye. It's more about a "reformed" con man than about partners--I don't think that Peter is all the good of a "partner" to Neal, he doesn't trust him, he doesn't always have his back, he treats him more like a friend who is a potential liability than equal. They are evolving though.
Nice! (though some Peter would have been nice too!!)
Question: Was I the only one who was expecting they'd use the exotic local and focus the "being on the run" thing with the posters? Not that I'm disappointed with this, but I just thought it would have been a cool angle to work with for the promotion of this season.
Not so for me. Oh, I know Matt Bomer is the show's big selling point, and of course they feature him on the posters: the man is gorgeous! But if the show were just about Neal, wonderful as he is, it would be a whole different show, and one not nearly so close to my heart.
Of course Peter doesn't always trust Neal: Neal has lied to him since day one, pulled all manner of cons behind Peter's back, slipped his anklet multiple times, stolen evidence, planted evidence, gotten involved in a scheme that got Elizabeth kidnapped and nearly got her killed... Of course Peter struggles with trusting him. But I disagree strongly that Peter isn't a good partner, or doesn't have Neal's back: How many times now has he covered for Neal, or allowed (or ignored) rule-bending (and breaking) other agents would have sent Neal back to jail over? Peter may not trust Neal at all times, but he does have faith that Neal /can/ reform, has already become a better person than he was a few years ago, and is a valuable human being well worth all the trouble and worry and frustration it takes to keep working with him! Compare Kramer, who can never see Neal as anything more than a con, to be used and controlled. This last season finale, we saw Peter put his whole career on the line (again), because he recognized Neal is much, much more.
It goes both ways. Peter's helping Neal reform his life, and Neal is helping Peter learn to bend a little. For me, that relationship is absolutely the heart of the show, and what makes it so special.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteI like it i'm just a little surprised that Neal is by himself, where is his other half?
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing we could get a Peter poster soon with a similar, but opposite tagline....
ReplyDeleteSomething like "To be Good, Sometimes You Need to Be a Little Bad" or along those lines.
Or not... XD
He is just so handsome.
ReplyDeleteLove NYC in the background. Can't wait until the 10th.
ReplyDeleteThat would be perfect! Guess we'll just have to wait and see what comes out?

ReplyDeleteBut Neal is so so pretty. He is so gorgeous that the background could be white. Could have tacky unicorns flying over NYC that I wouldn't care :)
ReplyDeleteI am usually totally against using the looks only to promote a show, but I just can't help it in this case to be pro Matt Bomer.
Matt Bomer is what sells. He's got the killer good looks and charm.

Ooh, I like it!
ReplyDeletewooooo
ReplyDelete"Sometimes it's bad to be too good" would be my suggestion
ReplyDeleteHe could sell ice to eskimos.
ReplyDeleteNeal/Matt is always a fine pic to look at... :D
