Supernatural - Ultimate Episode Round 1I - Polls

12 Jun 2012

Round 1H saw the end of the first half of round 1, with another upset victory albeit not as exciting as the round before. Folsom Prison Blues (#76) knocked out It's the Great Pumpkin, Sam Winchester (#53). ItGP,SW received 41.51% of the vote. My predictions for the round were 100% as the following episodes advance to round 2: The End, Folsom Prison Blues, The Pilot, and My Bloody Valentine. Leaving the contest is Hollywood Babylon, It's the Great Pumpkin Sam Winchester, Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid, and Hammer of the Gods.

Today we start on the other half of the contest where at least one poll should be a major blow out and another one very, very close. We might have a nail biter win again. We are also closing out season 2 in our quotes nominations with All Hell Breaks Loose parts 1 and 2. Definitely powerful episodes. Don't forget to comment below and happy voting!

  1. 1.  A Very Supernatural Christmas - I really enjoyed Exile on Main St.  I thought it was a great story, I liked domestic Dean, and I enjoyed RoboSam.  However, A Very SPN Christmas is about as perfect a SPN episode as you can get.  This is the episode I use to introduce people to Supernatural because it has a little bit of everything that makes the show great.  No matter your reason for liking SPN, no matter what hooks you, this episode has it.

    2.  The Usual Suspects - honestly because I haven't watched Fresh Blood for awhile and it was my least favorite of the Gordon episodes.  Blame it on the vampires.  The Usual Suspects, blasé stunt casting aside, had a great case and loads of snark.  The special effects weren't bad either.

    3.  Something Wicked - I like The Mentalists a lot but Something Wicked has Michael and that play on big brothers and little brothers.  While I'm not so keen on the flash backs in this one, it does give a great sense of what life was like for the brothers growing up.  I love the monster of the week and I love, love, love watching Winchesters interact with kids.  I really want to see Michael again.  He seems like the kind of kid that would want to help so I could see them running across him as a junior hunter.

    4.  toss up - I'm one who liked The Curious Case of Dean Winchester.  I thought it was funny and I like the idea of poker for years.  Also I loved the Dean and Bobby scene where Dean lays it on the line.  Still I think Time After Time was one of the best balanced episodes of season 7.  It was fun and I loved the guest actors.  I particularly loved Sheriff Jodie breaking out her mom voice on Sam.  He could use some mothering every once and awhile.

  2. A Very Supernatural Christmas, loved the young flashbacks and Sam giving Dean the amulet.

Fresh Blood, what can I say, I loved Sam killing vamp Gordon

Something Wicked, I just melt when Dean is interacting with kids and the monster was great.

Time After Time, enjoyed seeing Dean in the old time suit and his "Sweet Merciful Awesome".  Sam and Jodie working together, hope to see more of her.

  3. Not the most exciting episodes for me this round.

    1. A Very Supernatural Christmas - Some great brotherly scenes in this one. Plus Exile On Mainstreet was meh for me. The best part was "Beautiful Loser". Reunion wasn't that great with Sam being soulless, and the Campbells were too shady for me. Best Campbell was Mark.

    2. Fresh Blood- love the brotherly scenes. This was the only episode that has gotten me teary-eyed over a non-death scene. Sam saying he wanted Dean to be his brother again was heartbreaking.

    3. Something Wicked- The Mentalists wasn't that great, and Something Wicked had some great brotherly scenes.

    4. Time After Time- Time Travel, some great guest actors, and Sam ad Jody working together. It was great. Loved CCODW as well, especially Bobby and old Dean at the cemetery lol, but TAT wins.

  4. First I voted for A Very Supernatural Christmas. I love this episode. It has some great brother moments and it has Sam giving Dean the amulet.  Second voted for Fresh Blood. I just love to hate Gordon. One of my favorite villains. Third voted for Something Wicked. It has some great brother scenes in this episode. Fourth I voted for The Curious Case of Dean Winchester.  Both episode are alright but I liked TCCODW a bit more so my vote goes there.

  5. Okay, today was a little hard for me; or at least two of the four polls were hard; or rather, I had to think for more than a minute about them...

    1. A Very SPN Christmas. This was a no-brainer. This is my fav season 3 episode, and in my Top 5 all-time (ranked 3rd, thank you). I adore this episode and every single last thing about. EVERYTHING. Every moment is wonderful, and earned, and just amazing. Only two episodes of Supernatural exist that would ever make me not vote for this. And I'm not telling just yet what those are. lol

2.Fresh Blood. This was the first hard choice I had to make! I really like The Usual Suspects, and having just watched it in the last week, I felt an even stronger fondness for it. BUT. Fresh Blood is pretty awesome. And Gordon. I'm bummed he ended up a vamp, and then dead, but man. Fresh Blood also contains one of my favorite Sam and Dean season 3 moments, when a teary-eyed Sam asks Dean to stop playing the tough guy and to just be his brother. Ugh. Love that scene. Also? Sam beheading Gordon with razor wire? Uh...badass much! Though it makes me wonder, all the times the guys have killed vampires without gloves and with blood splattering their faces how is it not possible that they don't accidentally ingest any? It's something that has nagged at me, especially when I watch s2 Bloodlust, or Fresh Blood. But I digress...

    3. Something Wicked. This choice was the other difficult one for me, because I LOVED THE MENTALISTS! It's my 2nd fav episode of season 7, and I really loved Melanie. It was hard for me to choose Something Wicked over it, but I did because it's just a stronger episode and it's our first glimpse at the Weechester's! But really, I tend to love all the flashback episodes and this one was no different. Plus, the shtriga was sufficiently creepy, and Michael was a great character too. That kid was good. But The Mentalists. :( I can resign myself that if it weren't for Melanie and the epic, epic, epic lines (You are virile manifestation of the divine, and He broke my spoon) it would have been a fairly forgettable episode. But...Melanie. Dean and Melanie - they had tons of chemistry! I have never actively shipped Dean with any of the women on this show before, but man do I want a Dean and Melanie hookup. lol. TMI?4. Easy choice was Time After Time. I like The Curious Case of Dean Winchester alright but it's nowhere near the top of my list of favorites. I thought the older actor (Chad Everett I believe?) did a great job of channeling Jensen while also putting his own spin on Dean; and his "old guy" arguments with Bobby were funny (but I missed Jensen!!!!). Time After Time though, was a very solid episode. And we got Sheriff Mills, and several Back to the Future jokes, and a Sean Connery reference (and attempted accent!), and Dean in 1940's suit....yeah. Ah, Time After Time is SUCH FUN!

    ReplyDelete
  6. The Winchesters interacting with kids? Yes, I totally agree. One of the reasons I love Wishful Thinking so much is because of the scene with Audrey and the Teddy. So damn cute.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Dean interacting with Lucas is what made me fall head over heels for this show.  Many times the kid episodes are my favorite.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I hope Jodie becomes an extended part of the Winchester clan.  Not someone who always has the answers and not someone who rescues them from impossible situations, but just a helping hand.  She's already been a resource for finding a new case and I hope we get more of that.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I agree the best Campbell was Mark, mostly because he handily died very early on.  The only thing I felt when Christian, Gwen, and Grandpa Creepy bit it was good riddance.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I really enjoyed Gordon too.  I was one of the few that wouldn't have minded seeing him around for longer.  His black and white world view made him very interesting as a villain.  He truly thought his way was right.

    ReplyDelete
  11. A Very Supernatural Christmas  I loved both episodes but AVSC is one of my all time favorites.  I learned a new curseword in the process.  Fudgin.
The Usual Suspects - I loved the storyline and Linda Blair was a plus
Something Wicked -  The story of Dean's mistake was good.  I hated the idea that John let a child live with that.
Time After Time - Both episodes were good, but I loved the Elliot Ness story and Dean in that suit was hot, but I also enjoyed the casting of the epiosde,  Jason Dohring is a favorite of mine.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I thought today was harder too because I like every single episode on here.  The only truly no-brainer was A Very SPN Christmas.  I ended up liking the Mentalists better on rewatch than the first airing which is unusual for me.  I love all the lines too.  There is such good humor in that one, but what really sells me is that it ended the dreaded Amy subplot until Slice Girls briefly resurrected it.  It definitely gets kudos for that.  My only problem with the episode was all the freaking anvils they dropped on my head about sibling relationships.  Other than that I liked it a lot.  I don't expect to see Melanie back but I wouldn't mind if she was.

    ReplyDelete
  13. yep, could not agree more. Dean and Lucas was one of the catalysts to my obsession as well. Great stuff. Both guys, but especially Jensen, work really well with children.

    ReplyDelete
  14. The Christmas episode is practically perfect in every way.

haha! Yeah, the subtext about siblings was pretty thick in The Mentalists. Sadly, I don't think we'll see Melanie again either but I'd love too. Dorian Brown is one of the best guest stars they've ever had! And maybe I have a girl-crush on her...lol. That's a poll idea - one-shot guest stars/characters (who aren't dead and who aren't "recurring") that we'd like to see return? Though, there are quite a few I'd hazard to guess...

    ReplyDelete
  15. For all that I love Buffy alum, Time After Time definitely had the superior guest casting for me.  Nicholas Lea, Jason Dohring, and Kim Rhodes - aces from the casting department.

    ReplyDelete
  16. That's a great idea.  We've done our favorite one-shot PiP before but not which one we'd like to see back the most.  I would have a hard time voting between Sarah from Provenance and Michael from Something Wicked.

    ReplyDelete
  17. haha, and I've actually never though about it, past wishing to see Melanie again so it'd be a really fun exercise. Michael is definitely a good choice...and maybe the sheriff from the Pilot, he was great (or the sheriff from the beginning of Bloodlust - he was great too, lol) .

  18. All Hell Breaks Loose 1 Quotes

    16.  Sam:  "You want to know the truth.  I've got this brother right.  And he's always telling me how he's going to watch out for me.  How everything's going to be okay.  You know kind of like I've been telling them."  Jake:  "Yeah."  Sam:  "I don't know if I believe it this time.  I mean the size of what's coming.  It's bigger than anyone's ever seen.  I mean it's going to get bad and I don't know if.."  Jake:  "If we're going to make it.  Doesn't matter if we believe it.  Only matters that they do."15.  Jake:  "Salt is a weapon."  Sam:  "It's a brave new world."  Andy:  "Well hopefully there's food in your world, because I'm freaking starving."14.  Jake:  "So we're soldiers in a demon war to bring on the Apocalypse?"  Sam:  "When you put it like that…"  13.  Jake:  "Bench pressed 800 pounds stone cold calm.  I never told anybody of course.  It…it was just too crazy. 20. Ava and Andy have the best lines in this episode, for the most part. I do love Dean's love me some pie line.

  21. I've decided that some of my favorite barely there characters in this show are the law enforcement types.  The pilot sheriff is one of course.  The Bloodlust sheriff is my favorite for sure ("could be Satan"), but I also liked okey dokey security guard from Nightshifter, doped up Ranger Rick from How to Win..., and the "Satan worshipping, Anne Rice- reading, gothic psycho vampire wannabe" sheriff from Monster Movie.  Of course you've also got Sheriff Jake from Dead in the Water and Officer Kathleen from The Benders with meatier parts.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Agreed.  They were both awesome in this episode.  I was shocked when Ava would up being evil.

  24. The two Bens are awesome. Too bad they aren't in the show anymore.

  25. I hope she becomes a hunter. One you know about monsters you can't be a normal person.

I like Garth and Charlie but i think they work better in small dosis.

  26. A Very Supernatural Christmas.
    X
While I loved Exile On Main Street, it has had the misfortune to come up against one of the "perfect episodes" and so it's with great reluctance, but I have to vote against it. :(
    X
    Fresh Blood gets my vote.
    X
I really like The Usual Suspects a lot and would normally vote for it but when a season three episode comes along I always want to give it some love  .
The vampire story was a bit meh but there were lots of moments I liked ; the scene between Bela and Gordon at the beginning; the scariness of Gordon as a vampire.; the warehouse scene ending with Sam decapitating Gordon ( wow, super Sammy!) and the bitter-sweet scene at the end when Dean shows Sam how to fix the car -engine; it was such a powerful moving little moment.
    X
    Something Wicked gets it.
Lots of brotherly love and some vengeance for the little Dean who had thought he had failed his brother.
Some good brother rmoments and a sweet end scene where Dean wishes Sam could have kept his innocence about the evil things out there two.
    X
Just thinking. I don't know if you have already done it, but a poll on the best last scene of an episode might be interesting. There are just so many sweet ones :)
    X
Time After Time gets it ; nothing goes against time-travel.:)
Then I love it when Sam gets some mothering. He has never known it, and even surrogate mother-love is better than nothing!

    ReplyDelete
  27. This poll was not a slam dunk.   I had to think on all and the last two were even matches for me.

A Very Supernatural Christmas -   I liked a lot about Exile, but there was an undercurrent with the characters that pushed Christmas on top

The Usual Suspects -  this was just a really good ghost story.  Really liked Fresh Blood...especially for the return of Gordon, but I just thought Suspects was a tad better.

The Mentalists  -  Honestly, for this poll it is a 50/50 absolute even match up.  I picked Mentalists just to be different.  :-)  For me The Mentalists was one of the better eps of season 7.  I liked the ghost, liked the guest characters.  Something Wicked was a great ep...we got another glimpse of Dean with kids and Dean and Sam *as* kids.

Time After Time -  Another 50/50 toss up

  28. AHBL 1
I liked both of these quotes bacause they demonstrate the incredulity of those who have not grown up in the Winchester world, towards the supernatural.

Sam: Andy, you still with me, or what?

Andy: Give me a minute, I'm still working through "Demons are real."
    X
    Jake: Salt is a weapon?

Sam: It's a brave new world.
    X
    X
    AHBL 2
    X
I loved Dean's line here in the fist quote about it being for his mom. Sigh!
    X
Then the second one although not precisely a quote, are my favourite lines probably in the whole show. At the cost of being monotonous, I'll just sigh again! Sigh! :)
    X
    X
Sam: I kinda can't believe it, Dean. I mean our whole lives,
everything has been prepping for this and now I... I kinda don't know
    what to say.

Dean: I do. That was for our mom, you son of a bitch.
    X
Sam: You've saved my life over and over. I mean, you sacrifice
everything for me. Don't you think I'd do the same for you? You're my
big brother. There's nothing I wouldn't do for you. And I don't care
what it takes, I'm gonna get you out of this. Guess I gotta save your
    ass for a change.

    ReplyDelete
  29. A Very Supernatural Christmas - an easy choice, but i need to mention that i loved to see Fredric Lehne back as Azazel in Exile on Main St., even though it was not a big part that he played this time;
The Usual Suspects - this one had an interesting story, and great quotes; Something Wicked - The Mentalists were good, but this time i will go with the SPN from old seasons; The Curious Case of Dean Winchester - because i like poker and it was an interesting way that it was used in this episode, also liked the "old Dean" :)

    ReplyDelete
  30. Robbie Thompson was the best new writer of them all.  He seems to have a better grip on the show and the characters than other writers who have been there for years.  I hope he has a chance to write far more next season than he did this season.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I've added best ending scene to the list of poll ideas.  Tomorrow we are going to take another short break from quotes and do poll ideas so keep your great ideas coming.  We postponed the podcast until this week and I didn't originally realize that I was going to be discussing Castle on the same day too so I'm really behind.  This will give me a bit more time to catch up and hopefully give some others time too.

My favorite scene in Fresh Blood is fixing the car.  Bittersweet to the extreme.  I wonder if Sam will be the one fixing the Impala at the beginning of season 8.  On one hand, I don't want her sidelined again but on the other, I don't want anyone but Dean to fix her.

    ReplyDelete
  32. This was one of the harder ones for me too.  In fact, I'm good if any of these episodes make it to the next round.

    ReplyDelete
  33. AHBL2 is definitely good for the speech-making.  While it was hard for me to pick which speech I liked best out of Bobby, Dean, Sam and YED, I ended up tossing it to Sam because his was the most hopeful and positive.  I like that we ended the episode with Sam affirming his love for his brother and acknowledging what Dean has done for him.  I think Dean really needed to hear it after YED and the crossroad demon's taunts.  Plus I love it when either brother takes an absolute stand that nothing matters more than helping their brother.  It's a great scene.

    ReplyDelete
  34. When I first saw Azaazel in the previews I was afraid they were going to resurrect him which would kill AHBL2 for me.  As the episode went along and it was apparent that this was just a nightmare, I loved the idea.  It was perfect to see how even though Dean knew he had ended it, he still feared the same thing would happen to him as happened to his dad and brother.  it was very powerful to me, especially when he has hold of Ben and Dean reacts.  Plus Frederic Lane is always good.  YED is still tied with Alastair for me in the most powerful villain they've faced.

    ReplyDelete
  35.  Agree with everything you said.
It was a great speech and Sam was so positive about being able to save his brother that when he didn't it was a sad moment.

Even if he had had to use his Demon powers, I would have loved to have seen him stride into Hell and yank Dean out. I wish the writers would do a "what if" episode like that.

    ReplyDelete
  36. The Impala is Dean's baby; there's no doubt about that but if anyone can be delegated to fix her that must be Sammy; Dean showed him the ropes for that very reason. :)

  37. Katarzyna Skop12 June 2012 at 10:48

A Very Supernatural Christmas in #1. I liked Exile on Main St. more than I thought I would, but in the Christmas episode we got wee!Winchesters. We got the origins of Dean's magical, God-finding amulet. We got jokes and we got angst and it was all perfectly balanced. We also got hilarious older couple of pagan gods. Plus, I'll be forever grateful to that episode for teaching me to say FUDGE! The swear jar in the house is now forever empty.

Fresh Blood. It wasn't easy as I'm not overly fond of any of those episodes, but Gordon Walker tipped the scales. Gordon Walker. And vampires. And vampire!Walker.

Something Wicked in #3. OF COURSE it's Something Wicked. Flashbacks! Papa Winchester (when Dean still hero-worshipped him)! The answer to the big question: why does Dean follow almost blindly every order John gives? That was an important question. And we got hell of an answer.

Time After Time is another episode that was no contest, really. It has TIME TRAVEL and if there's anything that I'm a sucker for, it's time travel. I'm i9mmediately sold and I;ll watch ANYTHING if it has time travel. And well, this episode does have time travel. It also has Greek gods (one) and 1940s. 1940s, people! Fascinating time! And Dean gets to meet hunters of old times. And he also gets to meet a legend - still living, at the time. Dean's a lucky guy, isn't he? If there's time travel, there's 90% chance that he'll end up travelling. God, I wish I were him.

    Quotes:

All Hell Breaks Loose (Part 1):
Sam: "Andy are you with me or what?" Andy: "Give me a minute. I'm still working through demons are real."

Jake: "So we're soldiers in a demon war to bring on the Apocalypse?" Sam: "When you put it like that…"

All Hell Breaks Loose (Part 2):

Dean: "Don't get mad at me. Don't you do that. You know I had to. I
had to look out for you. That's my job." Sam: "And what do you think
my job is?" Dean: "What?" Sam: "You save my life over and over. I
mean you sacrifice everything for me. Don't you think I'd do the same
for you. You're my big brother. There's nothing I wouldn't do for you. And I don't care what it takes, I'm going to get you out of this. I
guess I've got to save your ass for a change."

Dean: "You know when we were little, I mean you couldn't have been more
than 5, you just started asking questions. How come we didn't have a
mom? Why do we always have to move around? Where'd dad go? I mean
he'd take off for days at a time. I remember I begged you, "Quit asking
Sammy. Man you don't want to know." I just wanted you to be a kid
just for a little while longer. I was trying to protect you, keep you
safe. Dad didn't even have to tell me. It was just always my
responsibility you know. It's like I had one job…I had one job, and I
screwed it up. I blew it…and for that I'm sorry. I guess that's what I
do. I let down the people I love. I let dad down and now I guess I'm
just supposed to let you down too. How can I? How am I supposed to
live with that? What am I supposed to do? Sammy…gah, what am I
supposed to do? What am I supposed to do?"

  40. I don't need her to be a hunter - just hunter adjacent.  I completely agree about Garth and Charlie.  They are 1 episode per season kind of characters.

    ReplyDelete
  41. In all honesty, I would rather she just be magically fixed than see anyone but Dean working on her.

    ReplyDelete
  42. That fudgin' line is one of my all time favorites.  It might be fighting with a classic Pilot line for my ultimate in the quote contest.
After such a big thing was made about Dean being an obedient little soldier I am glad that they answered the question of why too.  Still the flashbacks weren't my favorite thing in that episode which is strange since I usually love them.  For me the parts with Michael were most powerful.  Also the scene where Dean is talking with Heidecker after he finds out he's the shtriga is awesome.  So much tension simmering in Dean and yet he can't show his cards.  It was a great acting moment followed up with a great brother scene.

  43. Ah, the two big brother speeches in AHBL2.  I have a feeling they will both be nominated frequently.  Good choices.  They nicely book ended the episode for me.

  44. A Very SPN Christmas, Fresh Bllod, Something Wicked, Curious Case

    Preety easy round for me

AVSC-top 5 favourite episodes ever for me
    V
EOMS-top 5 worst episodes ever for me

US V FB-I'll admit this one was difficult, Liked both episodes. FB wins thanks to Sam's big bro speach and for his bad assery when he killed Gordon and Dean's protectivness and badassery.

SW hands down agiast TM-no contest again, SW was awsome and I cant even remember anything about TM. It was a completely forgettable episode.

CC over TATAT-I liked Patrick, the old guy playing Dean was convincing, Sam saved the day by playing poker. The only thing I liked from TATAT was Sam working with Jody Mills.

    ReplyDelete
  45.  Remember all the time Dean was in hell, Sam took care of her and added an ipod deck that got thrown in the back seat. lol

  46. A Very Supernatural Christmas - Even though I did like Exile on Main St. this one has pretty much everything.Great moments between the brothers,a little horror, the origins of the amulet(feel free to bring it back anytime now, writers).Lots of good stuff!

The Usual Suspects - Truth be told,I haven't seen either in quite some time and out of the two I remember this one a lot better.Usually that says something.

Something Wicked - It's one of the best non-arc episodes,in my opinion.Loved how they connected Michael and his brother with the Winchesters.Great plot and great guest stars.

Time After Time - I'm a fan of time travel and this one was no exception. Also,Jason Dohring! And Jodie Mills. And a creepy ending.Doesn't take much to do an episode great.
At the same time, not the biggest fan of The Curious Case of Dean Winchester.

    Quotes
I've decided to forget about the snarky quotes for today and go with the awesome/epic/heartbreaking ones.

    All Hell Breaks Loose Pt.1:
    - Dean's panicked monologue as he holds a dying Sam,which I just wrote in the box and I really don't want to write again. We've all seen it a gazillion times anyway.Usually I go for the smaller quotes, but I just had to put this one.

    - Sam: "I mean,the size of what's coming.It's bigger than anyone's ever seen."

    All Hell Breaks Loose Pt.2:
    - Dean: "It's like I had one job.I had one job and I screwed it up.I blew it and for that I'm sorry.I guess that's what I do.Let down the people I love. You know,I let Dad down and I now I guess I'm just supposed to let you down too.How can I?How am I supposed to live with that? What am I supposed to do?Sammy? What am I supposed to do?WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?"

Gives me the chills...Every single time!
And something completely irrelevant. It just dawned on me that i can write the quotes here and copy/paste them.Don't have to write them twice. What in the world is wrong with me?!?

    - Bobby: "Something big is going down.End of the world big."
Dean: "Well then, just let it end!"
      Bobby: "You don't mean that."
Dean: "You don't think so?You don't think I've given enough? You don't think I've paid enough?I'm done with it.All of it.If you know what's good for you, you'll turn around and get the hell out of here."

  47. Totally remember.  That's one strike against him having the Impala.  :-P

  48. I was a fan of Patrick too.  I thought he was fascinating and I wouldn't mind learning more about what made him tick.  One of the more intriguing one-shot characters we've had.

  49. Ha!  Copy and paste is a wonderful tool.  I had to go with big emotional speeches too, especially in AHBL2.  I thought that opening speech was powerful.  Especially how he shoves Bobby and then immediately apologizes but still tells him to leave.  My heart aches during that scene.

  50. Yeah, Winchester interaction with kids is always good. But, I really understood the true sense of Supernatural, only when I watched this episode Something Wicked. Before this episode, I never really used to pay attention to dialogues . All I used to enjoy was action. It is with this episode, I truly fell in love with the show. Flash backs were awesome in this episode and I almost cried for the first time ever in my life reading or watching a piece of fiction.

But, I did notice the actors really act like real brothers from episode Scarecrow. Believe it or not after watching 'SW', I googled to check if they both are real brothers in real life too.

Talking about these amazing episodes, I just want to forget that I have watched Supernatural and start watching the show again and enjoy all these episodes.

..dahne..when ..will be the date that the final quote election will be posted for us began to vote

  52. It kind of depends on how long the Best Show and Character Cup competitions go and when they start.  We still have over 50days just for nominating if we are doing 2 episodes per day.  My best guess is that the quote competition will be the big event for the winter hiatus instead of summer.  We still have the best writers, best song, and best song-to-scene contests to do this summer, along with any short polls people nominate tomorrow.

I'm right there with you.  It is great rewatching all these episodes, but to see them for the first time - well there's nothing quite like it.

  54.  I have enjoyed the eps that I have seen more times than I can count, because I know what is coming and I can just get the tears started early. lol  Rewatching SPN just gets better and better.

..means I continue vote for other things like you advice....peeeerfect..this poll will be the longest I ever see waiting to came out.

  56. I believe your 10th quote is the first one on my list. Can't ever stop crying watching that scene.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Yeah, I usually prefer straight up snark so if a serious quote even gets on the list, it's pretty powerful.  In all honesty I toyed with putting it everywhere between #5 and #12.

  58. Big contests take us forever to do so we can get ample nominations in.  Almost every episode in this contest was voted on in December and January so we could get their rankings in.  Gives people something to look forward to I hope and means that we usually don't have to stall a contest to get nominations since we nominate for the next contest simultaneously.

  59. There are a surprising number of episodes that I think get better on the rewatch even if I've seen them 100 times.  That normally doesn't happen to me.

    ReplyDelete
  60. That happens to me a lot. I grow fonder of episodes I found only alright the first time. My best episodes though always stay awesome.

  61. I liked him cause he was quiet. lol

  62. Oh yeah. Me too. But I only know Josef character. :D

  63. You haven't seen Veronica Mars?  Oh you should.  I liked it a whole lot better than Moonlight.  Nothing Supernatural but a great show anyway.

..I understand your point but basic all the poll are about amount of episode, series things usually knows how many but quote that’s big is like to read all script and choose witch line is funny is hard work sometimes I read a view of the quotes and almost cover one page are very long is the first time this poll was created is the better way to know how faithful & good listener the fans are when saw one episode of supernatural Disqus Sent: Tuesday, June 12, 2012 5:09 PM

  65. Different tastes. I was never interested in that show. Saw a bit of an episode once. Nowadays I usually need supernatural stuff. lol No, I do have shows from other genres, but nearly all my shows have things that wouldn't happen in real life. I do have a few normal shows, but not much. XD

I absolutely loved Moonlight. One of my show losses that made me distraught.

  66. I'm not sure I understand what you are saying.  If you are saying that the quotes nominations are a lot of hard work for people and are taking too long, I agree with you.  However, we are through season 2 now so I don't want to quit partway through.  Also it is summer where I live and people tend to have more time to devote to a time-consuming project like this during summer than around Christmas which would be the only other time to do it.  We could stop doing it all together but it was by far the favorite poll idea over the winter break.  I think it will be a fun contest once we get away from the nomination process and actually start voting.  Just hang in there.

  67. Different tastes for sure.  I watched Moonlight last summer because it was the show most recommended to me.  I think I went in with far too high of expectations.  I thought it was okay - better at the beginning than the end.  My biggest thing is that I never cared one iota for the Mick-Beth relationship so huge sections were meh for me.  I did think that Josef was the best thing about the show.  He added the humor.

Moonlight was last summer's Firefly to me, another show whose hype far outweighed the reality to me.  Moonlight was decent - not the best but certainly not the worst show I watched last summer.  That honor went to The Mentalist and The Walking Dead.

..I am agree with you this poll is ..AWESOME...what I am try to said is don’t unite all the season at the same time, when finish season two,,began to tabulate or work all data receive,,like you did with nomination episodes when finish began create best quotes of season one & two .keep record of the winning quotes and do 3 and 4.then 5 and 6 ..divide and conquer is my advice

    ReplyDelete
  69. OK I understand.  I am currently tabulating the best song nominations.  Normally I would agree and start tabulating the quotes by season now.  However, these nominations are still open so until I close them, I won't be able to tabulate the nominations.  I want to give everyone a fair chance to nominate so they will be open for a couple of months instead of just one week like the other nominations.

  70. I love Jessica Steen - so I agree about Kathleen from The Benders!

  71. I agree. I liked their writing. :-\

  72.  I have watched Veronica Mars almost as often as SPN, loved Veronica and Logan, Jason was so much better in it than Moonlight and I LOVED him in Moonlight.  He was very snarky in VM and the writers were very good to him with great lines.

  73.  I think Alex was much better in ML than any of his other series, that is a case of a PCA show for best new drama getting the axe.

..yeee my friend you give them a fair chance right now you are in season two episode 1 and two of 20 episode left .you know how many repeat quotes will receive for those two season only..uuuy,uuuf RIGHT NOW I HAD A HEAD PAIN imagine all the people helping organize all those duplicate quotes

    ReplyDelete
  75.  I think the quotes are way to long, don't think they should be a whole scene, but a line or two.

    ReplyDelete
  76. When we actually do the vote, they will be very short.  If I have to I'll ask people to nominate their favorite line or two from a monologue.  I put whole sections up on the thread not because I am nominating that whole section, but because some people don't have time/access to rewatch the shows and are nominating from what I put up.  That's also why I have so many more quotes pulled now than I did at the beginning.  On the short take notes that I use to do the quotes from, I only have space for the top 5 quotes, not 15 or 16.

    ReplyDelete
  77. OK, got it and that makes sense.

Have we had a poll of favorite scene?

    ReplyDelete
  78. That looks to be the big contest for next summer with nominations during the winter hiatus if we do an all-around contest. If we do scenes by characters, we should be up and running by winter hiatus with nominations at the end of summer.
