Supernatural - Ultimate Episode Round 1H - Polls

11 Jun 2012

Round 1G included the closest poll of the contest so far. Flip flopping numerous times for the lead, in the end Monster Movie defeated Caged Heat by only 3 votes. It was also the first major upset of the tournament since Caged Heat came into the contest at #37 while Monster Movie came in at #92. Today may also see an upset vote as 4 episodes no one's really talking about are competing against each other. I of course am rooting for the underdogs. Proceeding to round 2 are All Hell Breaks Loose 2 (with a whopping 92% of the vote - largest so far), Sympathy for the Devil, Dark Side of the Moon, and Monster Movie. Leaving the competition are Jump the Shark, Party On Garth, Phantom Traveler, and Caged Heat.

After rallying after a miss with My Heart Will Go On, Monster Movie is the second episode I called wrong in my predictions so far. (Not that I mind in this case.) That puts me at 26 out of 28 right in predictions. Of course only 15 of the episodes I've voted for have won, so not near as good of a record there. In today's quote nominations we have Folsom Prison Blues, which coincidentally is also in today's poll, and What is and What Should Never Be, my favorite episode. WiaWSNB is also one of the few that I have completely transcribed every word so I'm good on quotes today. Happy voting and nominating! And don't forget, comments are like a last minute win over evil. They get everyone stoked and cheering.

  1. 1.  The End - I thoroughly enjoy Hollywood Babylon but The End is in another class of episodes.  A chilling portrayal of the world under attack by Croats, it gave us a hardened Dean, Lucifer Sam, hippy Cas, and surprise of all surprises, a Chuck I enjoyed for the first and last time.  Culminating in the brothers reuniting, this episode had the perfect balance of straight up action, drama, and snark for me.  One of my favorite episodes.2.  Folsom Prison Blues - I find It's a Great Pumpkin, Sam Winchester forgettable for the most part.  However, Folsom Prison Blues has fantastic guest stars, loads of snark, and a very cool twist on a typical ghost story.  The brothers have to be clever the whole way since they have limited resources.  All in all tightly crafted with a superb performance by Charles Malik Whitfield as Henriksen. 3.  no vote yet - mostly because I like both episodes and will probably vote for whichever one is losing tomorrow.4.    Hammer of the Gods - only for Gabriel because I tend to be meh about both episodes.

  2. Poll #1: The End - probably the best season five episode. Who can forget Dean reuniting with Sam?.

Poll #2: No vote yet. Normally I'd go with folsom prison blues, but ITGPSW is very underated.

Poll #3: Pilot - Come on, its the pilot!

Poll #5: My bloody Valentine - For such a gory episode, its got alot of heart. Maybe thats what pumps all the blood through it.

  4. Folsom Prison Blues Quotes:

    16.  Dean:  " This place has all the signs of a haunting - innocent people are dead.  4 so far."  Sam:  "Yeah, innocent."  Dean:  "Are you from Texas all of a sudden?  Just because these people are in jail doesn't mean they deserved to die."  - great meta line15.  Dean:  "Don't worry Sam.  I promise I won't trade you for smokes."14.  Dean:  "It doesn't matter.  We may not be saints but we're loyal and we pay our debts.  Now that means something to me and it ought to to you.  Look I'm not thrilled about this either man, but Deacon asked us to hunt this thing down.  That's exactly what we're going to do."13.  Dean:  "Heh, heh, would you look at that?  I am freaking velvety smooth."  Sam:  "You want to maybe open it up after you know you're done patting yourself on the back."12.  Sam:  "You sure it's him?"  Dean:  "Pretty sure."  Sam:  "Dean, considering our circumstances, I'm going to need a little bit better than pretty sure."  Dean:  "Really pretty sure." (Sam also says this line later.)11.  Dean:  "I call this one the Blue Steel."  Camera Guy:  "Yeah that's great.  To the right…Okay back to the lineup."  Dean:  "Wait, who looks better - me or Nick Nolte?"  Camera Guy:  "Shut up."10.  Lucas:  "You talking to me?  Are you talking to me?"  Dean:  "Oh great, another guy who's seen Taxi Driver one too many times.  Yeah I'm talking to you.  Trust me.  Let it go."9.  Sam:  "How you doing?"  Randall:  "I'm 54 years old mopping the floor of a cr** with bars on the windows.  How do you think I'm doing."  Sam:  "Alright bad ice breaker."8.  Dean:  "This way."  Sam:  "I hate this plan Dean."  Dean:  "Yeah I got that the first 10 times I heard it."  7.  Henriksen:  "And after Milwaukee, your brother is now a suspect in a murder case himself.  I'd say for you two, screwed to hell is a major understatement."  Dean:  "Well where there's life, there's hope.  Huh?"6.  Dean:  "Clock stopped.  Flickering lights.  Cold spot.  I mean he did everything but yell Boo."5.  Sam:  "I thought we were screwed before."  Dean:  "Yeah, yeah I know.  We've got to go deep this time."  Sam:  "Deep Dean?  We should go to Yemen."  Dean:  "Oh, I'm not sure I'm ready to go that deep."4.  Randall:  "Why are you inside kid?"  Sam:  "Because I got an idiot for a brother."  Randall:  "That'll do it."3.  Sam:  "You heard in the yard?"  Dean:  "Yeah."  Sam:  "Dean, does it bother you at all how easily you seem to fit in here?"  Dean:  "No not really."  2.  Sam:  "Dean, this is without a doubt the dumbest, craziest thing we've ever done and that's in a long, storied career of dumb and crazy. "  1.  Henriksen:  "You think you're funny."  Dean:  "I think I'm adorable."

  5. The End is one of my favorite eps, hoard toilet paper. ;)

Folsom Prison Blues, it was better then the other choice, not big on either one.

Pilot, because it is only one of 3 first eps that hooked me, Veronica Mars and Roswell being the other two.  J2 seemed like they had been doing their characters much longer and I loved them from the start.

Hammer of the Gods wins for me as I loved Gab and his porn movie to tell the boys what they needed to do.

  6. 1. The End - I really liked Hollywood Babylon and PA Dean but...The End had Future Dean, Samifer,  and the Winchesters reunited at the end.
    2.  Folsom Prison Blues - had some great lines, Henrikson, and the brothers working together to solve a case while incarcerated.
    3. Pilot - thanks to TNT it's probably the episode I've seen the most.  It was the first episode plus the first episode I ever watched, so it holds a special place.
    4. Hammer of the Gods because I really dislike My Bloody Valentine.... to Ewww for me.

  7. What is and What Should Never Be Quotes:  Sometimes I'm surprised that this is my favorite episode.  It is relatively snark-free and that's generally a deal breaker for me.  However seeing the brothers both happy, even if it's in a dream world, is such a relief that I find this episode uplifting.

    16.  Dean:  "This isn't going to make a lick of sense to you, but I kind of feel like I've been given a second chance and I don't want to waste it."  15.  Dean:  "My God, Barbara Eden was hot, wasn't she?  She's way hotter than that Bewitched chick."  Sam:  "Are you even listening to me?"  14.  Dean:  "Dad's dead.  And the thing that killed him was…uh.."  Mary:  "A stroke.  He died in his sleep.  You know that."  Dean:  "That's great."  Mary:  "Excuse me."  Dean:  "That's great…that he went peacefully.  I mean it…it sure beats the alternative."13.  Mary:  "You want to mow the lawn?"  Dean:  "Are you kidding me?  I'd love to mow the lawn."  Mary:  "Knock yourself out.  You'd think you never mowed a lawn in your life."12.  Dean:  "That was so easy I'm embarrassed for you."  11.  Dean:  "I don't believe it….Jessica."  Jessica:  "Good to see you too Dean.  Can't breathe."  10.  Sam:  "Yeah, being fugitives is a freaking dance party."  Dean:  "Hey man, chicks dig the danger vibe."  9.  Mary:  "You sure you're alright?"  Dean:  "I think so."  Mary:  "Get some rest.  I love you."  Dean:  "Me too."8.  Dean:  "Huh, well who'd have thought Baby?  We're civilians."  7.  Professor:  "You been drinking?"  Dean:  "Everybody keeps asking me that, but uh no."6.  Sam:  "You're going to kill yourself okay."  Dean:  "Or I'm going to wake up.  One or the other."  Sam:  "Look, this isn't a dream alright.  I'm here with you now and you are about to kill yourself Dean."  Dean:  "No I'm pretty sure.  Like 90% sure.  But I'm sure enough."  5.  Dean:  "Oh Auntie Em.  There's no place like home."  Sam:  "Thank God.  I thought I lost you for a second."  Dean:  "You almost did."  4.  Sam:  "What?  What happened?"  Dean:  "Well the uh…the djinn, it uh attacked me."  Sam:  "The gin?  You're drinking gin?"  Dean:  "No a**hat, the djinn.  The scary creature remember.  It put its hand on me and then I woke up next to some hot chick."3.  Dean:  "You works nights at the uh…hospital.  I'm dating a nurse.  That is so…respectable."2.  Dean:  "Get out of the car."  Sam:  "I'm going with you."  Dean:  "You're just going to slow me down."  Sam:  "Tough."  Dean:  "This is dangerous and you could get hurt."  Sam:  "Yeah and so could you Dean."  Dean:  "Sam."  Sam:   "Look whatever stupid thing you're about to do, you're not doing it alone and that's that."  1.  Dean:  "B**." Sam:  "Wha…what  are you calling me a b** for?"  Dean:  "You're supposed to say jerk."  Sam:  "What?"  Dean:  "Never mind."

  8. I was a huge fan of Veronica Mars and Roswell too.  For a pilot, I agree that Jensen and Jared had a pretty good grip on who these characters were, which of course only got better over time.

Chuck's hoarding toilet paper line was the first time I thoroughly enjoyed Chuck.  I thought it was a shame that we didn't see more of him.  That says a lot about an episode.

  9. I may have voted for Caged Heat last round, but I'm really excited Monster Movie won! Both were good episodes and I would have been happy with either.

    This round-
The End - Prefer this over Hollywood Babylon for a few reasons. It's what we got for the Apocalypse, and future Dean was scarily devoid of emotion. Plus, Lucifer Sam.
Folsom Prison Blues - Seeing Sam and Dean in prison...haha! I enjoy this episode. Also - they slip the grasp of Henrickson...again! lol. No wonder he was so gleeful at capturing them in Jus In Bello. lol

Pilot - it's the pilot, and even though I do like Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid; I'm also not a big fan of zombies. However, the pilot was sufficiently scary and also did a great job of bringing me right into the story. It's a good one.

My Bloody Valentine - Hammer of the Gods had Gabriel. But then he died. :( BUT-My Bloody Valentine had Cupid and Castiel eating meat - that constant chomping on burgers made me laugh so hard. So, I really have nothing else to say.

  10. I agree with all your choices.  I really wish that Hollywood Babylon were going against any other episode today, but it can't hold a candle to The End.  The End and Changing Channels were the only two episodes from season 5 to make it into my top 25.  As for Folsom Prison Blues, any episode with Henriksen in it is on the win side for me.

  13. There are only a handful of episodes that can beat The End for me.  While I know everyone loves orgy Cas, my favorite Cas moment in this one is when he is standing on the side of the street looking forlorn because "the voice says I'm almost out of minutes."  That is one of my favorite Cas moments of all.

  14. I was campaigning hard for Monster Movie.  Not sure why I really wanted that one to win since so many of my other favorites are already out and I actually like Caged Heat.  I'm even okay that MM will be beat in round 2 by one of my least favorite episodes of them all.  The pilot had the advantage of actually being scary which was the first thing that attracted me to the series.  But more importantly, it is hands down the snarkiest episode of them all.  There are more quotables and classic lines in the pilot than some whole seasons.  Kripke did an awesome job writing it.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Well-maybe MM will come from behind again? :)

yeah, the Pilot is one of the strongest I've ever seen, and definitely scary. Scared the crap out of me! Plus, the tone set in the pilot was maintained through season one, which in some (or most) shows doesn't happen.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I chose The End, Folsum Prison Blues, The Pilot, and Hammer of the Gods.  I know My  Bloody Valentine was a good story, but I do not enjoy vomiting part of the time and testing my gag reflex the remainder of the time for any show, even my boys.  The quote forms were not available on this page so I went to the forms site to do this.

  17. When the bird flies out of the creepy house I still jump.  Every Single Time!  It's not like I don't know its coming.

  18. Hmmm, is the nomination page not showing up at all for you or will it not let you submit your nomination?  I can see the form but I haven't tried to nominate yet.

Your description of My Bloody Valentine made me laugh as I was nodding my head in agreement.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Do you mind my asking why you voted for Hollywood Babylon?  I agree it's a good episode, but I doubt we'll see it get many votes today so you've peaked my curiosity.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Me too! lol! My mom came to visit me awhile back and I "forced" her to watch the Pilot with me (I'm desperate to get people to watch the show!) and she jumped sky high when the bird flew out...I wanted to warn her, but it was too much fun to see. I think that's the only time I've ever not jumped myself. :D

Oh. Well...yeah. MM might not win, then. Though, seems Dark Side is an episode people either love or hate, so it may split the votes! We'll see...

  21.  It usually takes me several eps to like a show, took 5 eps for TVD, and I always compare a pilot with those 3 series.

    ReplyDelete
  22.  I was a Chuck fan and would have loved to see more of him in this ep, funny how I agree with you on most things, just not Castiel and Chuck. lol

    ReplyDelete
  23. My time is a precious commodity, so if the pilot of a show doesn't grab me right off, I'm done with the show - and to SPN and Roswell, I'd add LOST as a pilot to live up to. I hope Arrow is good - as a lead in to SPN it'd be nice to watch it (as I did Nikita this past season). ha, sorry, that was a big digression... :)

  24. The End - Didn't care for Hollywood Babylon. Also, I absolutely LOVE this episode; one of my all time favorites. Time traveling to a future verse seeing what would happen if Sam and Dean stayed apart. Croats, Future Dean, Future Cas (who was hilarious and tragic at the same time), Chuck, and Lucifer!Sam was perfect. Loved Dean's talk over the phone with Cas, and Cas getting Dean away from Zachariah. And of course, Winchester reunion- Dean finally realizing he and Sam were better off working together than apart. <3

It's The Great Pumpkin Sam Winchester - Folsom Prison Blues was great (loved Deacon and Tiny character, among other things) but I don't know, my gut says ITGPSW, even if it's not winning.

Pilot- Loved DMDWP, but ah, for the sakes I chose Pilot. It was a fun episode. Also sad with seeing Mary's and Jessica's deaths. Yeah, I'm probably one of the few people who didn't find it super exciting, but it was good. A good start.

My Bloody Valentine - Cupid. Do I need to say more? I will anyways. XD I loved Sam, Dean, and Castiel's reactions to the bear hugs. And then Sam and Dean making Cas comfort Cupid; Cas was so awkward. lol And the Cupid was just so clueless and innocent for an angel. I couldn't help but like the guy. As for the rest of the episode it was better compared to Hammer of the Gods, where the only parts I liked were Gabriel's scenes.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I also love that scene. Other fav Cas scenes of mine are the last scene when he teleports Dean from Zach, the scene in the truck with Future Cas and the scene in the Future where they're all in a room planning to go after Lucifer.

Non Cas scenes are the Lucifer!Sam scene and the brothers reuniting.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Haha. Yeah My Bloody Valentine was gross at times. That's what the fast forward button is for. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  27. I voted for that episode too. I like because Dean is just so awesome at being a PA when at the beginning he didn't even know what a PA was. He was in awe of the craft services and he got to bang his favorite actress. So many great moments from beginning to end. There's the one part at the very start where the tour is coming through and they are talking about Gilmore Girls and the guide says if you look to your left you can see one of the stars of Gilmore Girls as they pass by the guys. It's just a funny episode to me and really enjoy it every time.

  28. I thought Mara was a great character and if Henriksen didn't get her disbarred I would love for her to come back sometime.  The ending of Folsom Prison Blues had me on the edge of my seat the first time, sure that the brothers had just barely made it out before Henriksen arrived.  How awesome was it that she sent him to the wrong cemetery!  Loved it.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I given shows I'm interested in a 3-6 episode chance, depending how interested I am.  However, there aren't a whole lot that I care to try out.  Usually I let people start talking about which ones they've been liking and catch up with new shows during the midseason hiatus.

I actually liked Nikita.  I didn't start watching until this spring but I thought it was a fun action-filled series.   Not appointment TV but definitely worth my time.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Everyone comes at Supernatural from their own angle.  That's one of the best things about it.  I'm sure there are characters I adore that you can't stand.  Or don't remember.  One of my favorite guest characters was in for only about 3 minutes.  The sheriff in Bloodlust cracks me up.  I wish he would come back again.  "Cuz that's what gravity does."  BWAH!!!  Cracks me up just thinking about it.  As for Cas, I think you will be far happier with what Carver does with the character than I will but you can't love everything about a show.  I'll adjust.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I liked Cas better in this episode than most of seasons 5 and 7 and all of season 6.  A couple of the scenes you mention are in my top 10 Cas moments.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Thanks for sharing.  I adored Dean as a PA too.  Mostly because Dean seems genuinely happy on that job and those times are rare and far between, especially when you get to the latter seasons.  I find Hollywood Babylon to be that breathe of fresh air I needed before their lives all went to hell again (figuratively and literally).  It is simply fun.  My favorite meta moment in the show is when Sam says, "Does this seem like swimming pool weather to you Dean?  It's practically Canadian."

    ReplyDelete
  33. The End - even though i like Hollywood Babylon;
    Folsom Prison Blues - a good, tense episode;
Pilot - scary, funny, interesting and got me hooked completely;Hammer of the Gods - a hard choice for me, because both episodes are equally good to me, so the winning factor is Gabriel and his porn movie :)

    ReplyDelete
  34. The End -  Loved Hollywood Babylon but if I think of my reaction on a story level...I have to pick The End

Folsum Prison Blues -  I re-watch Great Pumpkin for one line...but Folsum Prison Blues had lots and lots that I really loved.

    Pilot  --  just well...it's why I'm here.

My Bloody Valentine --  this ep was awesome for me...on a lot of levels.  Not the least of which was the Horseman

    ReplyDelete
  35. The End gets my vote, A great epsode with my favourite time travel option.

However I can't say it was a happy episode. I hated how at the beginning Dean wanted to keep Sam away from him, and in so doing playing right into Zachariah and his friends' hands.
    X
The future part was well done, and apocaliptic enough for SPN' s budget.
Dean on Dean was really interesting and Sam as Lucifer so sympathetically evil.
I loved the bitter sweet ending when the brothers came together, but I nearly cried at the look on Sam's face when Dean pulled out the knife, thinking that his big brother was maybe going too use it on him.
It was an episode that gave me some hope after the horrible "Free To Be You and Me"
    X
Hollywood Babylon was already too meta for me and I honestly thought the ghost story weak too.
    X
    X
    I went for ITGPSW
I was going to vote for Folsom Prison Blues, a great episode but I'm torn, as ITGPSW introduces many details for the future plot-lines.
Castiel reluctantly meets Sam; we get to see that angels are uncaring dicks ready to smite whole towns without pity, and it's the first time Dean gets to witness Sam using  his powers to exorcise a demon.
Then I loved how Sam used his quick wits to protect them both from being seen by the demon, by spreading blood on his and Dean's face.
Winchesters are savvy. They don't need secondary characters to do their job for them!
Uriel then threatens to obliterare Sam if he keeps on using his powers. Bad Uriel!
There were a lot of little details and I have revalutated it as an episode.:)
    X
    X
No doubts here. The pilot is probably the episode I have watched the most. I just love it. It drew me  into the story instantly. The two brothers conquered my heart right there and then. :)
    X
DMDWP is in no way near my favourite eps. I found it boring. I don't like zombies and I didn't like Bobby much  in this story. Only good thing was the introduction of Jodie Mills.
    X
    X
    I voted for MBV.
This ep too had a lot of details in it.
The Winchesters were destined to be born. Mary and John forced to fall in love. The naked Cherub. The curious lack of hunger in Dean. Sam's hunger for demon blood and his humility in acknowledging  his weakness, and asking his brother to restrain him in some way.
The horseman was so well played, and I cheered when Sam took him out at the end.
All in all a very exciting episode.
    X
While I like Hammer of the Gods well enough, the Winchesters were playing the roles of wallpaper.
I hated that poor Gabriel got killed. I would have liked him to appear again.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Gabriel was the deciding factor for me in Hammer of the Gods too.  hate that he died but using a porn movie to pass vital information was awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  37. "
Pilot  --  just well...it's why I'm here."  Probably the best reason of them all.

    ReplyDelete
  38. There was plenty about Uriel that made me not like him but threatening to obliterate Sam if he kept using his demon blood addiction powers was not one of them.  I wanted Sam to take the warning to heart.  Then we could have stopped that whole horrible plot line in the 7th episode and I might have enjoyed season 4.

    ReplyDelete
  39.  We would have had to obliterate the writers to stop the on-going plot line in season four; not Sam. :)

    ReplyDelete
  40. Egads no, no obliterating Sam at all.  Then we wouldn't have a show.  Let's just say when I think of my dream Supernatural world demon blood addiction was never on the table.  In fact my SPN world looks an awful lot like mid season 2.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I get it, and I'm with you on your dream, but one has to go with the cards we have been dealt, and when I manage to get satisfying moments out of episodes that I would rather had never been written, I count it a win. :)
    .
I'm sure that Sam himself would have been the first to have wished that the Demon blood was never dripped into his mouth, and that he could have  been the one to save his brother at the end of season three, thus avoiding the angel story-line and all the rest!

    ReplyDelete
  42.  I am retired and the most important activity for me now is taking care of my orphan baby squirrels, so have time to give a show a little time.  There are several series that I watch, but if they get cancelled no big loss, but some like SPN, TVD, Hart of Dixie, Person of Interest and Revenge that I would miss a lot.  I am also hoping for good things out of Arrow, have liked the previews....a lot.

    ReplyDelete
  43.  LOL, yeah the sheriff and his bloated cows, he was so deadpan with the delivery, that was a good one.  I think the only characters I hope to never see again are the Ghostfacers, there are a few I did not care for, but if they show up it will not ruin the ep for me, Becky and Adam come to mind.  I always go back to Chris and his Alastair, loved him, so scary, and for me the best demon they have had.  I like Crowley, but scary, not so much.

    ReplyDelete
  44. The End - 149 episodes and The End is at the very, very top(well, sharing the spot with Lazarus Rising)!
There are a lot of awesome episodes, but for me,this one is in a whole other level.
The Croatoan universe,Dean vs Dean, future Cas,Chuck,Lucifer in Sam's body.Top notch acting by everyone.

It's the Great Pumpkin,Sam Winchester - I really liked this one.It showed how far the angels are willing to go and it introduced Uriel, the creepy angel.
A lot of great scenes.Sam meeting Cas,Dean seeing Sam using his powers for the first time,Dean and Cas scenes in the park,Cas starting to doubt his orders,a lot of good stuff.

    Pilot - Well,it began everything.It holds a special spot in everyone's heart.  : )

Hammer of the Gods - I liked both episodes but this one gets my vote for Gabriel's last shining moment.

    Quotes

    Folsom Prison Blues:
    - Randall: "Why are you inside, kid?"
Sam: "Cause I got an idiot for a brother."

    - Sam: "Dean,this is without a doubt the dumbest,craziest thing we've ever done.And that's in a long,storied career of dumb and crazy.

What Is and What Should Never Be:
    - Sam: "Look,this isn't a dream,all right?I'm here,with you,now,and you're about to kill yourself,Dean."
      Dean: "No,I'm pretty sure.Okay,like 90 percent sure.But I'm sure enough.

    - Sam: "Look, whatever stupid thing you're about to do,you're not doing it alone and that's that."

    ReplyDelete
  45. I love that line too! This episode took awhile to grow on me but after a few seasons, I really began to love it because it was indeed a breath of fresh air for us the audience and the boys and it really is one of the most under rated episodes of the series IMHO, but then again I love meta episodes and a lot of people do not.

  46. The End, Folsom Prison Blues, Pilot, Hammer of the Gods.

wake up. One or the other." Sam: "Look, this isn't a dream alright.
I'm here with you now and you are about to kill yourself Dean." Dean:
"No I'm pretty sure. Like 90% sure. But I'm sure enough."

Dean: "Oh Auntie Em. There's no place like home." Sam: "Thank God. I thought I lost you for a second." Dean: "You almost did."

    All easy choices today.
The end. I love Hollywood babylon but its the end. It is an unbelievable episode, I lie every minute of it. Cas as a human hippy was hilarious. Dean and future dean were awesome and Sam as lucifer was brilliant. Loved the whole thing.

Folsom prison blues. Ya the great pumpkin is ok but nothing special. On te other hand, I really enjoyed FPB. It's te boys getting themselves Ito difficult situations to do the job an being smart enough to get out of it. And under hendricksons nose as well (who was an awesome part of the episode as well). This is what I mIsses about the early seasons.

Pilot. For one, I was never such a fan of dead men don't wear plaid. But I love the pilot so only a few episodes would have stood a chance against it for me. Everything about the pilot is just brilliant. The brothers starting to work together, the witty one liners, "bitch, jerk", the classic rock music. The pilot is everything I loved about this show.

Hammer of the gods. Again, it was an episode I love against one that's not in my top list. Although my bloody valentine is a pretty good episode and does have its moments. And whenever someone asks me about supernatural, I describe the scene where the couple eat each other to death. But I could never ore against the trickster. As I've said, he's my favourite non Winchester character and I love every episode he's in. And it was a very sad but epic death. And I loved how he faked his death. And the video he left Sam and dean of cads erotica was amazing. I just loved this episode.

I would also like to say that I watched something wicked and nightshifter this weekend. I love those episodes. I miss those seasons so much. When their biggest problems were the FBI. And thy were so young and innocent. I miss those seasons. Deffinately going again from the start when I get home

  49. Crowley is my favorite demon but Alastair and YED were definitely the scariest.  Cruel, taunting, snarky - they lived up to the demon persona.  Plus they were both personally invested in the Winchesters which amped up the tension.

  50. Arrow and Revolution are at the top of my most anticipated list.  There are a whole more shows coming next season that sound interesting to me than last season.  I'm hoping at least a couple turn out very well.

  51. I loved how even dream world Sam wasn't about to leave Dean to face evil alone.  It was one of the strongest moments in WiaWSNB for me.

  52. Voted the same way!  :-)

The crazy and dumb line from Folsom Prison Blues is a classic.  I've used that line once or twice since it aired.  It always makes me laugh.

  53. "I think I'm adorable" is one of my favorite Dean lines and there are a whole lot to choose from. I'm thinking about doing a list of favorite quotes by character after all the quotes nominations are in.  I think it would be fun to see what people choose.

  54. There certainly is a lot to be nostalgic about from the first couple of seasons.  Smart brothers are one of the things I miss most.  In the beginning seasons, it was more about logic, research, cleverness, and luck.  I'd like to see things go more that way again.

  55.  Agree, there are a lot more shows that sound good to me for the fall, also hoping Cult will be good.

  56. I'm actually one of the few people who seem to like Adam. I didn't care for the half brother storyline but wanted it seen though when it came to Adam's storyline. I'm still hoping on end to find out he somehow got out of the cage, and at the very least in Heaven. At this point, I don't care if it even makes sense. I just want him out of the cage. He wasn't a bad kid, does not deserve to be forgotten.

  57. This year and last year are about equal in shows that peaked my interest and I started watching.

  58. I wonder if that's why I'm not so attached to the pilot- My first episode was Devil's Trap.

  59.  I guess thinking about it, it was the half brother storyline I did not like either.  I see why they had to have it, would not have liked the brothers killing each other, when they get into the huge bloody fights it hurts me.

  60. Hurts me too. I hated the fight in 4x21 "When the Levee Breaks".

  61. I tried that with Alcatraz (watching more than just the pilot) and was continually disappointed. I guess I should say I usually watch the Pilot and then one additional episode to see if my interest holds. Usually it doesn't. I'm super picky about my TV!

I love Nikita! I'm heartbroken it's been paired with America's Next Top Model for the fall, it worked well with SPN I thought. But - I look forward to really enjoying season 3. Also - Arrow could be good for SPN. That's my sincerest hope!

  62. I have super high standards for TV - and I'm super picky about what I watch. Also - my life is insanely busy so I tend to be very judgmental about shows...mainly so I don't have a super long "to-watch" list. The only show I'd lament the loss of is SPN. Without that my life would be tragic indeed! ;)

    Arrow...I hope it's awesome.

  63. Alcatraz I dropped after the second hour.  I knew then it wasn't going to be for me since I kept checking when it was going to end.  Ringer was probably the one I hung into the longest because of SMG and the fact that the story moved very, very quickly.  But when they came to a hinted teacher-student possible relationship I was done with that one too.  The three new-to-me shows that I ended up liking enough to finish this year were Missing, Nikita, and Person of Interest - in that order.

  64. I'm sorry Missing is gone but not bitter or inconsolable.  I would be upset if Leverage or White Collar weren't renewed.  But yes, Supernatural is the only show I'd grieve for.  I've invested so much time and energy into the Winchester saga that I would feel a hole in my life without it.  Plus I'd miss chatting about it with all of you guys.

  65. You came in on one great episode!  Doesn't get much better than that.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I recently watched White Collar on Netflix streaming...and am anxiously waiting for season 3 to be put up. :) Great show!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Yeah, I didn't watch Alcatraz again after the second episode. I never watched Ringer - but I'm not a SMG fan so I didn't have an interest in it.

Nikita is great! I Wish more people were watching it!

  68. First I voted for The End. There was no way I wasn't going to vote for that. What's better than two Dean's? Also it was interesting to see a version of the future. Second I voted for Folsom Prison Blues. I love how Dean wanted to go to prison to help one of John's friends for a case. I like how Sam thought it was a bad plan from the start and didn't want to do that but did anyways for Dean. Can't forget that Clif made a guest appearance too! Third I voted for Pilot. Come on! It's the Pilot! The episode that started everything! That episode will always have a special place in my heart.  ♥ Fourth I voted for My Bloody Valentine. Neither episode choices are any of my favorites but I like My Bloody Valentine more than Hammer of the Gods.

  69. White Collar is currently my second favorite show with Leverage a very close third.  I love Mozzie.  Someone just posted that season 3 is On Demand.  Not sure which media that is Hulu, DirectTV, something.  If you have it you could see it that way.

  70.  the scene when the couple eat each other in "my bloody valentine" was one of the most gruesome on the entire show :-)

    ReplyDelete
  71. ah, all of season 3 is on hulu (15 eps?)! sweet, that'll do for now. Though I could do without the commercials, ha. You're right, Mozzie is great! I enjoy White Collar - it's pretty fun and easy to watch.
