Suits - Episode 2.02 - The Choice - Advance Review by Joshua

This is my review of the second episode of Suits Season Two entitled “The Choice”, which is an excellent continuation of the storylines set up in the season opener. As the title suggests, lots of decisions are made in the episode that will have a huge impact on the season going forward. In true Suits style, there is a fast paced case which is interlaced with lots of humour and relationship changes. We discover a little about Rachel’s past, and a hint of Donna’s which will make some fans go wild speculating! I’ve tried to keep the review as spoiler-free as possible, but I’ve given you a few hints about what you can enjoy in the next episode.

In the Season Two premiere, the firm was left reeling after founding partner Daniel Hardman returned to work at the company. Jessica discovered Mike’s secret, but Harvey forced her to let him stay by threatening to quit himself if Mike leaves. In the second episode of the season, the effects of Daniel Hardman’s return have become clear; with Jessica’s job in danger, people must choose where their loyalties lie. As Jessica tries to decide which sections of the company will support her in the event of a hostile takeover, she sets Harvey a task to ensure the bankruptcy department remains in her pocket. In the meantime, Mike has finally heard Rachel’s message regarding the kiss and makes a decision regarding whether to take their relationship to the next level. However, complications of trust arise as Rachel is aware only of him cheating on the LSATs and not the fact that he didn’t attend Harvard and is not actually a lawyer.

This episode is entitled “The Choice”, but there are in fact many choices to be made. Who will remain loyal to Jessica, and who will be wooed by Daniel Hardman’s incentives? Will Harvey be able to set his ego aside and do the job Jessica has requested without hurting their relationship? And will Mike tell Rachel about his fraud so that they can get together? The highlight of the episode for me personally is a less important but absolutely hilarious choice which Donna has to make; whether to go to the theatre with Lewis.

Don’t miss this excellent instalment of Suits, airing this Thursday on USA at 10/9C.

  1. Donna possibly going to the theatre with Louis? Hilarious. Especially after last season when he got to go out with Jessica. I really don't want the Harvey/Jessica relationship to get ruined further, so I'm hoping whatever happens it's not beyond repair (and fast, I don't want a whole season of Harvey ruining his friendships).

  5. Well... I don't like Jessica that much, something about her irritates me but I definitely think Harvey can't loose his friendships. Again, I don't know what happened... I think I like Rachel.
