Hugh Laurie is in negotiations to play the villain in Robocop, MGM and Sony’s remake of the classic 1987 sci-fi action movie.
Jose Padilha is directing the film, which sees Joel Kinnaman (The Killing) as the title hero, a cop named Alex Murphy who is brought back from the brink of death and turned into a cyborg police officer.
Gary Oldman already has been cast as his scientist-creator and Samuel L. Jackson is playing a media mogul. Laurie will play the evil and ultra-rich CEO of Omnicorp, the company that makes Robocop.

Nice. I will be in Toronto while this is filming... maybe I will finally meet Hugh (tried last year at Film Fest & failed).
ReplyDeleteCool, good luck and don't forgot to send us a set photo if you do ;)
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I think he'd be great as a villain.
ReplyDelete..HUGH....a..VILLAIN ....has to be very dark develop character he would pull it of
ReplyDeleteNice casting.
ReplyDeleteAnother remake? Come on Hollywood, this is getting ridiculous, I mean I know it has indeed all been done before but at least TRY to come up with something new. But at least Gary Oldman and Samuel L. Jackson are getting work.
ReplyDeleteI hope if doesn't play the sterotypical Brit villain and plays American instead.
ReplyDeleteGood to know he hasn't stopped acting, but a another remake, enough already!
