Robocop - Casting News - Hugh Laurie in negotiations to play villain

13 Jun 2012

Hugh Laurie is in negotiations to play the villain in Robocop, MGM and Sony’s remake of the classic 1987 sci-fi action movie.
Jose Padilha is directing the film, which sees Joel Kinnaman (The Killing) as the title hero, a cop named Alex Murphy who is brought back from the brink of death and turned into a cyborg police officer.

Gary Oldman already has been cast as his scientist-creator and Samuel L. Jackson is playing a media mogul. Laurie will play the evil and ultra-rich CEO of Omnicorp, the company that makes Robocop.

  1. Nice. I will be in Toronto while this is filming... maybe I will finally meet Hugh (tried last year at Film Fest & failed).

  5. Another remake? Come on Hollywood, this is getting ridiculous, I mean I know it has indeed all been done before but at least TRY to come up with something new. But at least Gary Oldman and Samuel L. Jackson are getting work.
