Continuum and maybe Teen Wolf. I'm hoping Continuum levels out.
I have tried soooo many times to enjoy True Blood. People keep telling me it's excellent but I can't get more than a few episodes in before I start hating it, and the lovely Anna is not enough of a pull to keep me interested when the story isn't my cup of tea.
Yes, I can indeed enjoy the attractiveness of the female lead and NOT watch the show if I can't stand the story. I haven't watched NCIS in like three seasons, despite the fact that Cote de Pablo owns whatever is left of my soul after Sarah Shahi, Lyndsy Fonseca, and Ginnifer Goodwin are finished with it. ;)
Aaaah this is like the official start of the summer television season. True Blood! I watched the S4 finale yesterday to get back up to speed and man I do hope they don't give all twenty-frickin-thousand storylines equal screentime or we're gonna get nowhere.
I'll also be watching the finales of The Killing and Veep.
Yep, I agree. I hope they came up with a better storyline for TB this year. I have a hard time looking forward to it, because I was so disappointed last season. Hopefully I´ll be more excited after the premiere tonight.
True Blood, Veep, Girls, The Big C, The Borgias, The Killing and Mad Men.
But right now I'm going to watch the Euro 2012 football game Spain/Italy.
Sadly the Roland Garros final was interrupted (damn you, rain), the game just resumed, so I think I'm going to switch channels between tennis and soccer.
Spain/Italy sounds like a great game, however I'm mostly excited about the big game tomorrow, France / England ! We'll try and do better than at the Euro 2008 and the 2010 World Cup, which doesn't seem so hard (0 win, 2 draws, 4 losses / 2 goals scored, 10 goals conceded).
But it's a new era now, we're on an excellent streak, Laurent "le Président" Blanc put les Bleus back on track : we didn't lose any of our last 21 games (15 wins, 6 draws, 0 loss / 36 goals scored, 9 conceded) and that includes wins against Brazil (at home), England (in England) and Germany (in Germany). Overall, with all due respect, given the 23 players in our team and our status for the past 21 months (undefeated since Sept 4, 2010), it's not being cocky to say that we must finish 1st or at least 2nd of the stage group.
Since September 2010, no team has scored more than one goal when facing l'équipe de France… except Iceland 2 weeks ago, leading 0-2 at half time O_o (two mistakes by Évra, two opportunities, two goals) — ultimately we won 3-2, but that was a close one. The other two recent friendlies against Serbia and Estonia went much smoother (2-0 & 4-0). As for our upcoming opponents, we beat England 2-1 in London (Nov 2010) and Ukraine 4-1 in Donetsk (June 2011), where we'll be playing against them on Friday. We haven't played against Sweden recently, I don't know many of their players except two fairly important ones, Källström (midfielder at Rennes (2004-2006) and Lyon (2006- ?)) and Ibrahimovic, a striker our defense ought to look out for.
I want new Euro memories, and good ones, like in our first game of Euro 2004 against (once again) England, when Zidane scored two goals in the last two minutes (direct free kick and penalty) and won the game (1-2) : http://www.wat.tv/video/fin-match-rebondissement-portugal-jwbb_2gqr5_.html Or in the Euro 2000 final against Italy when Wiltord scored at the 92nd minute (there were only 45'' left to play !) and then at the 103' when Trezeguet scored the golden goal (that was the rule back then, whichever team scored in the 30-minute extra time won the game) : http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xrf59n_resume-france-2-1-italie-finale-euro-2000_sport I can't say I remember much of the 1998 World Cup but I do remember that :).
So, how about a third Euro win ? Well, after 1984 & 2000, technically we should win the 2016 Euro (taking place… in France) but I wouldn't mind if we won this year. Yep, that's reaching, but when I see the players we have, the clubs they play in and what they can do together when they put their minds to it, I say we're capable of something in this Euro. But we do not and cannot call ourselves clear frontrunners, which is a good thing, we're best in the role of the underestimated underdog, like in 2006. The brilliant 2006 World Cup marked the final exploit of the golden 1996-1998-2000 generation led by Zidane, the same way Platani led another golden generation (1982-1984-1986). Let's hope 2012 is the beginning of a new one, but led by whom ? The logical answer, based on Platini and Zidane's position on the field as playmakers, would be Nasri (or Martin), but he doesn't really live up to the expectations yet (Nasri's quite good but he doesn't have as much influence as one would hope), so tomorrow's game would be a good moment to start.
I miss the good old French team when players like Zidane and Henry played. I used to be a huge fan, but even tough they're not my favorite team anymore, I'm gonna be rooting for them tomorrow.
Mad Men finale. I don't know how, but each season seems to get better and better. We may not have had "The Suitcase" this season, but I've only been enamored with everything that's happened this season!
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
