I kind of expected it already with all the fuss about the importance of one's true love in the enchanted world and Snow admitting that she took away Regina's one chance at happiness, but it's still something else to hear it from Lana herself. No wonder indeed.
I remember Regina was so desperate to get the curse to work and come to a different world in one of the first two episodes becauses she had to cling to the hope that the rules would be different there and she would get a new shot at something at least close to happiness there. I wonder how they'll deal with this. Will the people from the fairytale world get a new chance at finding happiness in Storybrooke? Even if it means they won't be living what would have been their happy ending in the enchanted world? And will people who lost their true love be able to find love again with someone else?
I'm surprised someone brought up her scar,it isn't that noticeable and it is apart of her.....
I really enjoyed listening to her,she plays the Evil Queen to perfection, and even as Regina she is still cold, and calculating, I wondered if she struggled with the EQ wanting to kill Snow, nice to know she did.She has made the most of Regina and the EQ,can't wait to see what she brings next season!
About the scar, I think it's just cause people are so curious and there doesn't seem to be any info about it anywhere, probably because she's never been in the public eye as much as she is now. Millions of people watch her every week (on high def tvs no less, lol) and enough of them are curious about the story that frankly I'm amazed she hasn't been asked before now. And yes, I agree with you that she plays these parts perfectly. Love hearing about The Stable Boy episode and how she worked all that out. Saw another interview with her and she said she finds that scene really hard to watch cause she doesn't see ANY of herself in Regina, and it definitely shows. Love her and can't wait to see more of her next season. And THANK YOU to whoever found this video, been scouring the internet for it since I saw the first pictures of her in those kicka** pants, lol.
Yes,The Stable Boy ep. i knew it had to be difficult, but i was happy to know just how hard it was for her. I mean i don't want to see her cry about it,but i was always curious how she felt playing that part..I still can't believe she isn't up for a nomination, but Jennifer and Ginnifer are? They are good, but Lana knocked it out of the park this season!
She is up for a nomination, as Best Supporting Actress. A lot of people are ticked that she was submitted as a supporting actress, but they could only submit two for the lead, and besides, this limits her competition a little more and she won't be competing against anyone from the show, so I'm happy with the decision. I really want her to at least be nominated for an Emmy - not gonna cry if she doesn't win in the first season, just want to see her performance acknowledged.
Anyone else notice she said 'In FTL'? Just because she could only have one love in FTL doesn't mean that rule applies to our world. You're right, though, maybe that occurred to her and she came to SB hoping the rules would be different. Or maybe she knows she can't love again and is just trying to get a fresh start somewhere. Or maybe she MISTAKENLY assumes she can't have love in this world when in fact she can. Lot of interesting possibilities there, even if she can never have love again in FTL. And I love that Lana is so adamant about Regina loving Henry. I really do feel like she loves him, even if it isn't in a healthy way. I want to see their relationship salvaged just as much as she does. I hope the writers don't screw that up. Ugh, can't wait for season 2!!
I know it's only a fan poll but did you see how well she is doing in the best supporting actress category thing on tvline. Last I checked a couple of hours ago she was second only to Maggie Smith against some pretty stiff competition. Compare that to Ginnifer/Jennifer on the best drama actress poll. They are way down. No I really believe that this was a great idea.
Like I said, I don't care if she doesn't win, to me that's just icing on the cake. Just seeing my fave actors/actresses nominated at the Emmys is enough for me. It's funny, I've been reading quite a few emmy predictions lately and a lot of reviewers seem to be ignoring OUaT for the most part, but fan polls are consistently putting it, if not first, at least a close second in just about every category. Makes me happy that the fans are so dedicated, but makes me worry that the officials at the emmys will ignore it. Alas, we'll just have to be patient and see. Side note: Saturn Awards coming up on the 20th and I think OUaT has a good shot at taking some of those categories. Excited :D
OUaT has nothing to do at the Emmy-table. It`s not Emmy material this year. There is alot of good shows to also dont get nominated for Emmy`s. Emmy`s not so important if youre a fan of a show. It`s just something extra.
Lana is adorable, I love watching her do interviews. She's funny and really pleasant to listen to.
I have to say it sort of speaks for her talent and dedication that apparently the writers trusted her to figure out an explanation to justify Regina's revenge against Snow. She had mentioned before that she often calls the writers/showrunners for clarification. The fact that they refused to give her any instruction on this one seems to suggest they trust her portrayal. Which is pretty damn amwesome considering the fact that this is only the show's first season.
As for the question about her scar, a lot of fans were wondering and there are eps where it is really noticable but a lot of times it isn't. But at least the record was set straight so people can focus on other things now.
Yeah, it's definitely amazing that they trusted her to figure that out. She mentioned in another interview that she doesn't get much direction at all when she's shooting, and mostly any direction she gets is from her going to the producers/directors/whoever to ask specific questions, so they really do trust her performance. Makes sense, though - why hire an actress if you can't trust them to do justice to the part? Obviously they're really happy with everything she's doing, which is awesome, cause I love her portrayal (of ALL her roles, lol). Can't wait to see more of here. I agree with Lily Sparks - someone needs to right this chick something big and HBO-y!
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
She is really a lovely woman. I could watch her interviews all day.
ReplyDeleteSo you really do only get one love in FTL. That is so fucked up. It's no wonder Regina went crazy, with no chance for happiness in her future.

ReplyDeleteThat's what I wonder. Because the show has a really high body count so there must be tons of people left utterly heartbroken.
ReplyDeleteReally love Lana as an actress and as an interviewee. It's fabulous hearing her perspective on how she deals with the dual roles on OUAT.
