Burbank, CA (June 8, 2012) - When Mel comes to Ryder's defense, she becomes a citywide sensation on an all new episode of "Melissa and Joey," premiering on June 13 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) on ABC Family

In the episode, "The Knockout," Mel punches a man when she sees him hassling Ryder, leading her to become known as "Battling Burke," which delights Mel's campaign manager (Mazar) and helps her image. But Mel's new persona has unintended effect on Ryder. And Lennox attempts to befriend a new girl at school, but the girl takes advantage of Lennox's kindness, which dismays Joe.

The series cast includes Melissa Joan Hart, Joey Lawrence, Taylor Spreitler, and Nick Robinson. Guest stars include Debi Mazar, Lucy DeVito, Hayley Erin, and Kylie Sparks.
