In week three Continuum was down 20% from week two to 531,000 in its 9 PM airing(previously 670,000 and 900,000 in it's premiere) but still the #1 Showcase series by far.

Down 20%? That's not even close to leveling off. After three episodes, Continuum only has 60% of its original audience. It's a good thing that Continuum started off with such a large viewing because this kind of sharp tumble in the ratings would have any other Showcase freshman series on life support.
I'm sure Showcase would be more than happy if Continuum were to level off at anywhere near a half million viewers but I think were going to see a few more significant declines.
I originally thought it may level off at 450,000 or so, but after the last two episodes I'm thinking it could drop to 350,000 or even below 300,000. Hopefully it will turn things around since I'm losing interest and I want to like it!
I like the show well enough but it's struggling to find a groove and it's looking a little bipolar. One week we get nothing but action and snark and kick-ass, the next we get nothing but emotion and melodrama. It hasn't found a balance yet.
i dont know wat you ppl want from them. blood? if it was action packed for 3 eps straight u wud complain that their is no character development. I love the show. its great. appreciate it for what it is
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Down and down it goes... where it stops... nobody knows...... EEEk!
ReplyDeleteAfter the huge premiere it was bound to drop for a few weeks.... Let's see if it has leveled off now or one more drop....
Still pretty good for Showcase! Renew it already!
ReplyDeleteAlthough a drop after the premiere is common, a 40% drop seems pretty steep. Will it stabilize?

ReplyDeleteDidn't I just say that I liked the show? That doesn't mean that there isn't room for improvement.
ReplyDeletethere is always room for improvement. but its only been 3 eps
ReplyDeleteHhhhmm.... losing steam huh? Hope it manages to stabilise by the end of the season.
ReplyDeleteThree completed episodes is enough material for producers to analyze, adjust, and course-correct if necessary.
ReplyDeleteSurprised it dropped that far. As Bruce said - it doesn't matter what the relative numbers are in terms of network, it's still a 40% loss in 3 weeks.
ReplyDeleteThat's overnight ratings:
ReplyDeletefinals are:
897 000 for 1x02
828 000 for 1x03
I hope it won't fall much further...
