Here's the first batch of "For Your Consideration" ads from various shows. I included Fringe's that has already been posted. I will update this post as more ads roll out. Feel free to post links for those I missed in my first web search.

***UPDATE (6/21)***
I added 2 more ads : Mad Men and The Killing.

***UPDATE (6/22)***
Added Person of Interest.

  1. Some of the ads are just screencaps of Flash ads or tiny side bar ads off websites and very low quality. If better quality versions turn up I will post them or feel free to ad to the post yourself. XD

  2. I love how 'grim' is supposed to be a selling point for The Killing.

  3. I bet other choices they decided against were "Repetitive" and "Leisurely"... XD

  4. This is where I wish they would create a dramedy category, I hate the word but some shows just don't fit firmly in the comedy section or the drama section.

Shows like Chuck, Yvonne was fantastic this year but even though Chuck is often a comic show her performance was more on a dramatic level. Ditto for shows like Nurse Jackie which blend the two styles..

I know it's never going to happen but I wish it would!

  5. Some of those posters are more "gripping, intense and riveting" than the show itself.

  6. I agree!
I always think of certain shows as hybrids.... Some are 30-minute comedies with drama and some are hour-long dramas with comedy. I know all shows have a mixture, but some shows really walk the line between the two genres they need to have a Dramedy category.

Some shows really have equal parts comedy and drama and need their own genre since they may not have enough drama to get nominated and likewise they may not be as funny as a typical sitcom. Hour long shows like Boston Legal, Desperate Housewives, and Veronica Mars in the past or Burn Notice, Hart of Dixie, and White Collar now.... . 30-minute shows like Nurse Cathy, Shameless,The Big C, and Weeds all come to mind off the top of my head.

The one thing that really plays against my theory is that many of the shows I mentioned have been nominated and won awards! XD
    Oh well....

  9. American Horror Story is submitted for mini series... so it's going to be a series of mini-series... makes sense cuz each season will have a different story... Hope it wins...

  12. All of these look good, and damn some are great looking! I wish USA had more, their photo shoot this year, especially for White Collar were outstanding, those alone could have won an award!

I wasn't impressed by AMC's ads,to me they are relying on the words about the show when the show itself should have been the focus..

Fringe-i don't know, its alright, but they look like mannequins all gussied up,there are better photos i wish they had used....oh well..

And as for Top Chef,Padma is such a beautiful women and that's the photo they use, ugh!

Game Of Thrones! Need i say more?

  15. Glad I'm not the only one! Showtime and USA shows are definitely ones that combine the two genres.

Whilst I am happy that the Showtime actors/actresses get awards recognition I sometimes feel its at the expense of 'proper' comedy shows so it would be nice to have added categories to reflect that. Not going to happen though.

  16. The AMC and the USA ads are captures of flash videos on a website. They move through a few quotes and videos of the show and end on the pictures i captured. So they are a bit better in the flash format...

  17. I was wondering why AMC would use that, that's good to know thanks!

  18. I love Sons of Anarchy and the posters are great. I hope they win some awards, it is truely original and the cast is just brilliant.
Game of Thrones is great too ofcourse. No need to say how awesome the cast is. :-)
