Thanks to Bruce_F for the heads up.
1. Elena's dark side. When a person turns into a vampire, their strongest personality traits are heightened. Elena's strongest personality traits are compassion and selflessness -- but seeing vampire Elena wander around Mystic Falls helping old ladies with their groceries and nursing injured animals back to health would get old really quickly. We've seen a few flashes of just how tough and fierce Elena can be when someone messes with the people she loves. We're hoping that is the side of her that emerges when she finally vamps out. Does Elena have a little Ripper in her?
2. A little happiness for Damon. We don't care if it comes from Elena, Katherine, Stefan, or an elaborate cocktail of prescription medications. It takes the fun out of Damon's wise cracks and eyebrow acrobatics when we know that inside, he's curled up in the fetal position crying about his man-pain.
3. Some new love interests. If Elena and Stefan don't last -- and let's face it, since this is television, things are bound to unravel sooner or later -- we'd really love to see what Stefan is like with someone else, if only for the sake of curiosity. He had great chemistry with Caroline in Season 2 -- of course, she's quite taken now, but at least we know he's capable of some connection with a woman who doesn't look like Nina Dobrev.
4. More Rebekah, all the time! We're not exactly singing Rebekah's praises after the stunt she pulled in the season finale, nearly killing Matt and actually-kinda-sorta killing Elena, but we're willing to chalk it up to grief-induced madness if she's really, really sorry (and if she buys Matt a new truck). Rebekah was an excellent addition to the show last season, and we're still intrigued by how she'll fit into Mystic Falls and whether her history with Stefan will be explored further. While we're on the subject of new characters, we're also hoping to keep Meredith Fell around a while.

I agree with everything on this list (even hiring Phoebe Tonkin) except for number six. I've always disliked the idea of adding any type of character (old, young, black, white, gay, straight) out of some sort of artificial mandate or diversity quota.
ReplyDeleteThe only reason any character should be added to a TV show is because it's a good creative decision and the character is someone who will enhance the overall quality of the show. If that character happens to be gay, then it's fine by me.
My number 1 wish is that Elena does not become a vampire
ReplyDeleteYikes. Well, you have over four months to brace yourself for that eventuality.
ReplyDeleteI agree with everything listed, except maybe Meredith Fell. Much as I love Nanny Carrie, I can't say I care too much about her either way, although her part in Elena turning might bring out something interesting. Also, the Council story might be good to have her around for, especially if the Council knows about the Salvatores. She might be the group's only in. I guess I've talked myself into wanting her back, but only if she gets more involved. And interesting.
ReplyDeleteEverything else - yes, yes, and more yes. Especially the Salvatores getting interested (and by that, I don't mean make friends with or just have naughty times with) in someone that bears no resemblance to Nina Dobrev. Much as I love Elena and Katherine and their relationships with the boys, Elena has two possible love interests outside of the Salvatores (not that Matt or Elijah is going to happen, but they're there). Can't Stefan or Damon have real feelings for someone other than a doppelganger? And who lives for more than four episodes? So yes to all of it.
my wish is elena become a vampire because her being a human is getting old serious
ReplyDeletealso my next wish is i want stefan to be with someone else and damon be with elena
ReplyDeleteI think that would all be fine. So long at the end of the series Stefan and Elena end up together and Damon gets a girl who truly cares about him.
ReplyDeleteIf Stefan and Elena don't end up together I vote for the brotherhood! Both leave Elena. :P
Stefan and Elena Relationship is not that epic ( i don't feel anything)
ReplyDeletewhen i see damon and elena (i feel hot when i watch them)
so damon and elena meant to be (that all i going to said
Elena do love Damon alot (she just scare to said it)
ReplyDeleteI see it differently. *shrug* I've felt intense feelings between Stefan and Elena.
ReplyDeleteOf course it's hot to watch them for a Delena fan - Damon's your hottie. Stefan's mine (it's the hair and the intense looks and oh just him).
Erm. Maybe it's not best for either of us to judge. We need someone who likes both brothers and doesn't care who Elena goes with to analyze the facts. Anyone? lol
Still, I've really watched scenes and I believe everything Elena said in the finale.
Could it also be just because the actors playing Damon, Elena are dating? If so, doesn't mean the characters should end up together.
Stefan's the one Elena always goes back to. Usually, that's who the girl ends up with. All the shows I've watched it ended up that way.
I really don't want to use a Twilight reference. It's almost a sin to compare the two, in less you're a fan of both. Maybe even if. But I feel it's a similar situation. Jacob fans were not happy with who Bella chose, but hey. It happened, and I knew it would.
I also guessed right on the pairings on One Tree Hill, Wildfire, and others.
But wasn't her fear losing one of the brothers?
ReplyDeleteShe chose Stefan knowing she could lose Damon, but still chose Stefan because he was the one she couldn't live without.
What other fear could there be?
I think next season Elena may reconsider being with Damon not because of her memories, but because she is a vamp. Maybe her "dark side" will be lust. She did end up with Damon in the book series at this point. Though that doesn't say much with how different the show is from the books.
ReplyDeleteI still think when she calms down, gets used to being a vamp and settles, she'll be with Stefan.
My three biggest hopes:
ReplyDelete1) Embrace another side of Elena. Doesn't neccessarily have to be a "dark" side, just another layer. I would love it if she came to feel like she was meant to be a Vampire, and enjoyed and embraced it more than she would have thought in her human life. I think that would tie her nicely to Katherine and give Dobrev another layer to work with. The same "girl next door" morality and draw, with a sexier demoness vibe underneath.
2) Give the triangle a breather. If they're determined to put Stefan in the uninteresting position of "Elena's boyfriend" again, let them tell a different story. Let it be sexier. I don't want to see more of that cloying, reassuring sweetness from Season 1. Damon, meanwhile, needs to consciously move away from Elena. Maybe give him a more long term or more serious love interest than Andie or Rose (Meredith?), or let him have stories with Jeremy or Matt away from the Elena drama.
3) Let this new villain be fundamentally different than past villains. By that I mean: Not a witch, not a vampire, not after Elena. Tell a different story. The press release kind of hinted at the new villain being a threat to the town itself.
My nr 5 for season 4...
ReplyDelete1. Make Rebekah REGULAR! She deserves it!
2. More Katherine! I like Katherine more than Elena and I've missed her soooo much!
3. More Elijah!
4. More Kol!
5. Get the witches from Chance Harbor to Mystic Falls! All of them! :)
Elena has suicidal tendencies. I think she gonna go running into the sunlight at first chance.
ReplyDeleteThey should totally hire Phoebe Tonkin, hell they should let her come on as Faye Chamberlain
ReplyDeleteI agree that the triangle needs a breather. Elena made her choice so the show needs to explore that. Meanwhile, after three seasons, it's long overdue that TVD explores Damon on his own as a character without any of the Elena/Katherine baggage.
ReplyDeleteI TOTALLY agree with #4. Rebekah Forever!!!!
