Awww, Cas finally got his hug... too bad he had to go crazy first. Also, beating on the crazy guy? Not cool, though I'm sure creatures from above and below might be jumping at the chance to get a little vengeance now that he's weakened.
"I love you guys" awwww insane Cas is so cute, he does really seem like a baby now lol, I really want to know what was going through his head while he was cathatonic though, even if it's just a glimpse. Also, I so love the WTF? faces of Sam and Dean hahaha.
Maybe..Actually,the stills kind of confuse me. And yes, they have the right to be pissed. But acting against someone who can't defend himself and is probably really confused about why he's getting beat up is kind of pointless.
To be fair, it's not like Cas killed angels who could defend himself against his powers at the time, you know? I absolutely love Cas and I hate seeing this angel kick him like that when he's so weak and crazy and seemingly confused, and I may change my mind when I see the complete scene play out, but I can understand this angel's rage and why she doesn't seem to be showing any compassion, IDK, she just wants him dead apparently or suffering, so why would she wait until he feels better... it would make no sense.
Yeah well, they're not really supposed to feel emotions... but some of them did show compassion though, but anyway you get the point XD
Off course, I want her dead regardless of if I understand her action though, don't take me wrong haha. And she'll probably be since she's on female vessel for starters lol.
Want to know too. How did he go from catatonic-Cas to kid-Cas? Are the angels there because of him, because of the artefact or because of the new prophet? How is the prophet going to fit in the leviathans storyline? How is Cas going to survive from that meeting with the angry female angel? And how I'm going to survive untill Friday night?
And she'll probably be since she's on female vessel for starters lol. XD she isn't a love interest for the boys so she may have a slight chance to survive.
I was having some doubts since seeing Cas crazy, but actually this looks like it'll be a great episode! Love this promo. Squee at Cas hugging both the boys! Hahaha 'I love you guys!' ahaha
Looks like a lot of fan service in the clips. And seems rather soap opera-like. Edlund is usually great, but lately he can be hit and miss, for me at least.
last question is truly important hehe I want this episode like NOW!
According to the description the angels are there because of the prophet not Cas, and it seems like they find him while they're there and I guess that's exactly what Dean was trying to avoid by leaving him in the mental hospital.
Well, they say what goes around comes around. How many defenseless humans did Castiel murder? How many Angels? And then he attacked Sam and taunted his suffering.
She isn't lugging around an angel sword in the promo photos for nothing: http://www.spoilertv.co.uk/images/cache/supernatural/season-7/promotional-episode-photos/Episode%207.21%20-%20Reading%20Is%20Fundamental/SN721-0009_FULL.jpg
The blond angel is pretty pissed. Maybe she was a great pal of the Rachel that Cas killed in season six, she's got the same blond hair!
Anyway I am not a great fan of the angels in general as they are usually real douche-bags.
While it's perfectly logical and normal for the demons to be bad and commit atrocities as per their nature, one would expect if not compassion, at least that the angels would know the difference between good and evil, supposedly living in the light of God.
The fact is that both angels and demons commit the same vile acts, one in the name of good and one in the name of evil, and the said angels include Castiel who has had no problem in committing murderous acts against his own kind, let alone humans!
That is probably the main reason that I really don't like him and prefer any of the "evil" demons over him.
As for Sam and Dean having committed bad actions too; well they are human and will be judged when they die but their actions can in no way be compared to Castiel's who being an angel and having been born in Heaven, is subject to a whole different set of rules.
As for Castiel's hug, I put it alongside the ridiculous hoarding of the trench-coat, transfering it from car to car as if it were made of gold! I'm sure they had more essential things to store in there than that.
you're assuming angels arent subject to judgement as humans are? How do you know they arent punished for doing bad things, or made to redeem themselves?
What if God wanted Cas to pay for what he did by allowing him to live, loose his memory, then help Sam to redeem himself for the crime he committed against him, then stick around to help the boys fix the mess he made? It seems to me angels why lacking in a moral concious are punished in some way or aother for their evils either they seem to die or go to hell.
As for Cas he pretty much has been getting the same treatment as Sam and Dean when it comes to fixing his meses. He also has incresingly been subjected to having to feel moraly responsible for his actions as he has become more sympatetic towards humans/become more human himself. I agree angels are self righteous dicks and yes Cas has been one too but I think he is actually now having to pay for his wrong doing. Perhaps in the worst way an angel can too by having to feel pain and guilt over it.
I dont think Cas will get a free pass, come the end of the season I think he will have been punished one way or another. I'm not a fan of Cas or the angels but I do think Cas should go back to heaven a better angel at the end of the season, having learnt a hell of a lot from humans like Sam and Dean who make monumental mistakes but also take moral responsibility for them.
Oh Castiel! You poor baby <3 A freaking hug. ;__; And on your knees, bloody with those puppy dog eyes. This episode may just put ME in a catatonic state.
Actually, odds are that Cas will be in the next season, one way or the other...
And I wouldn't call him an idiot. We don't know what he went through..I'm actually very curious about that and I hope we get an explanation as for why he ended in this mental state. His experience has to be different from Sam's.For Sam the main problem was the lack of sleep or food.Since Cas doesn't need any of that, something else caused him to lose it like that and I really wanna know what it was!
He took Sam's crazy the only difference is he doesnt need sleep but what he has experienced is just the crazy part.Sam's wall coming down has become about Cas and his experience .
And I agree I believe he will be in season 8 the show cant let this character go so he will be there one way or another .
I know he took Sam's crazy, but it's kind of weird that he would be affected so heavily, cause like I said before, the lack of sleep isn't a problem for him and also,Sam was hallucinating and being reminded of thinks that happened to him in the cage.I can understand Cas being affected by the same things at some extent, but not so much as to leave him in a coma and later crazy.
Plus, during the Con in Rome Misha said that Cas was seeing Lucifer and later some other things. So I'm thinking maybe there's more to it... I guess we'll know by tomorrow!
As far as we know angels don't have a soul and therefore can't be judged as humans are. They don't get sent to Hell and are already in Heaven, so it's an impossibility.
In any case. I remember one of them, perhaps it was Anna saying that the only crime they could be punished for was disobedience and I'm not sure if that meant falling to Earth as she did, or if there was some other punishment for that.
As for God's will, we have been told by Joshua himself that God was out of his office and that he didn't want to be bothered with the Apocalypse etc.
I would think that God's still missing, for logic dictates that he would have intervened in some way by now, and if he hasn't, I find it hard to believe that he would be bothered with giving Castiel any kind of mission.
Castiel, however we want to view him, is still an Angel and unless we're told otherwise his nature is still angelic and therefore not emotional. If he has picked up any sort of human feelings they can't run very deep, as he can't be an angel and human at the same time. He's either one or the other.
We saw so well with Soulless Sam that without a soul there are no emotions or caring, and just as Sam needed his soul back to feel them and to have a conscience, how can we expect a soulless Angel like Castiel to truly care about the Winchesters.
I don't like Cas' story-line for it just feels plastered on to keep him in the show. If they really want to hold onto him then they should write a believable arc for him and if they don't, then they should just send him off back to Heaven.
This pull and shove blocks the stories because of having to find a reason to insert Cas into the episodes every now and then.
Well, you're injecting your own personal religious interpretations. Nothing wrong with adding to the canon, but that's not how I generally view angels, and that's not the impression I get of the angels of Supernatural. I get that the angels don't match and live up to your personal expectations. But that doesn't mean angels can't have flaws, nor that Castiel can't have emotions (he seems pretty emotive to me) or care for the Winchesters, or be punished by God (God is presumably the one bringing him back), nor even that killing is considered a huge sin by God on Supernatural, etc. etc. Angels can grow to have free will on Supernatural, they are living beings unlike, for example, Islamic angels which have no free will and are literally extensions of god; obviously Supernatural angels are not really Islamic, and likewise they don't have to be your particular interpretation either. That doesn't automatically make them bad characters or necessarily poor representations of angels.
The way I see it is that Cas had enough before Sam's visions to drive him crazy. In fact, you could make the case that he cracked at the end of last season when he decided he was God. With Sam, he had redeemed himself by falling into Hell, so he doesn't now have a guilty conscience to deal with.
Pre-apocalypse, the biggest crime an angel could commit was disobeying God's orders (which they believed they were hearing from their superiors), but with God missing in action, we don't know what type of rules they function by now, or who enforces them. I'm pretty certain that deciding you are the new God, starting a civil war, and killing thousands of angels would still be considered crimes in the new angel community. And angels have their way of punishing other angels. They can kill other angels, they torture (as we learned from Anna), and they can banish an angel as they did with Lucifer.
Cas wasn't supposed to care about the Winchesters, but he obvious does, which is what makes his story so unique and interesting. I'm a little scared for Cas, but maybe when the angels learn that (apparently) God brought him back yet again, they'll be hesitant to act against him.
No way I am putting any of my own beliefs into my post!
I'm going only by what's been said on the show. I have never had the pleasure of meeting an angel so I have no idea what they're like
Angels have no souls on the show. Neither do they have free will. It's the human soul that gives free will and moral ethics and conscience, so if angels don't have a soul they can't do things the way humans do unless they fall from heaven and become mortals.
If Castiel shows a smattering of emotions they are only superficial, for I repeat, the show says no souls=no humanity.
Sam being soulless showed us how it is to be without a soul and according to the show Angels are like soulless Sam
All I'm saying is that if God wasn't interested in The Apocalypse, I find it hard to believe he would be interested in Castiel as he has done nothing particulary of merit that could get God's approval.
That's a very good point! His eggs probably are prescrambled judging from the god thing. Putting it like that, I guess it's really not so odd to see him like this now.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Awww at Cas hugging the boys!
ReplyDeleteThey're not gonna let lady kill Cas. Hell, even Meg would stop her if it came to that.
ReplyDeleteAaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!Cas hugs them!!!!!!!!!!:D
ReplyDeleteMy faint hope that the new archangels wouldn't be total douchebags just died a painful death...
ReplyDeleteAwww, Cas finally got his hug... too bad he had to go crazy first. Also, beating on the crazy guy? Not cool, though I'm sure creatures from above and below might be jumping at the chance to get a little vengeance now that he's weakened.
ReplyDelete"I love you guys" awwww insane Cas is so cute, he does really seem like a baby now lol, I really want to know what was going through his head while he was cathatonic though, even if it's just a glimpse. Also, I so love the WTF? faces of Sam and Dean hahaha.
ReplyDeleteA pretty unexciting promo.
ReplyDeleteI still think there's hope for the male angel judging by the stills hehe. That said, the blonde angel totally has the right to be pissed though.
ReplyDeleteShe can wait until Cas is in his right mind again. There's no use being mad at a crazy person.
ReplyDeleteMaybe..Actually,the stills kind of confuse me.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, they have the right to be pissed. But acting against someone who can't defend himself and is probably really confused about why he's getting beat up is kind of pointless.

"but I can understand this angel's rage and why she doesn't seem to be showing any compassion"
ReplyDeleteAngels on this show aren't really known for their compassion anyway.
Yeah well, they're not really supposed to feel emotions... but some of them did show compassion though, but anyway you get the point XD
ReplyDeleteOff course, I want her dead regardless of if I understand her action though, don't take me wrong haha. And she'll probably be since she's on female vessel for starters lol.
Cas grins like he is still possessed by the Leviathan....not good. And hugging Sam and Dean.....something is wrong here...dead wrong.
ReplyDeleteLooks like Cas is still possed by Sams memories.
Understand but do not like. Look how harmless he is now. It's like hitting a puppy :-/
ReplyDeleteBe warned lady, I'm making an archangel blond voodoo doll for friday. I have pins and I'm not afraid to use them!
;-D
Hug with "I love you guys" Do I really need to say something??? *-*
ReplyDeleteCas is a nut can't wait till friday
ReplyDeleteWant to know too. How did he go from catatonic-Cas to kid-Cas?
ReplyDeleteAre the angels there because of him, because of the artefact or because of the new prophet?

ReplyDeleteKarma...she is a beetch
Aww Crazy Cas just melted my heart. :(
ReplyDeleteAnd it took him going crazy to get a group hug? lol
I seriously cannot wait for this episode. :DDD
ReplyDeleteHe also healed a community of leapers and a blind man, whose lives were probably changed forever thanks to him.
ReplyDeleteSam and Dean have a bunch of innocent murders on their hands too.
But even so, he is gonna suffer for his crimes and despite how much I love Castiel, I can't wait to see how this plays out.
I'd be seriously surprised if Meg was still in that room if she had a choice if there was an archangel in the same vicinity.
ReplyDeleteShe isn't lugging around an angel sword in the promo photos for nothing:

Yeah, she knows when to bolt and save her own tail.
ReplyDeleteTrue, but probably to save her own bacon. I very much doubt she'll risk her live to save anyone other than herself.
ReplyDeleteYes. I like this. GIVE ME ALL THE CAS!WHUMP!
ReplyDeleteOMG his puppy-dog eyes...
When Dean GROWLED "Back off!", I swear I got chills. Hopefully, he's defending Cas, but I get a feeling it has something to do with that prophet kid.
ReplyDeleteLol! Crazy!Cas is kinda adorable...
The blond angel is pretty pissed. Maybe she was a great pal of the Rachel that Cas killed in season six, she's got the same blond hair!
