  1. I don't like this schedule. Here's hoping it's just a rumor.

  2. It would be great move nikita out of friday!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  3. Weird. I'd love for Nikita to move out of Friday but this schedule's very odd lol

    ReplyDelete
  4.  If this comes to be true I will give the CW a piece of my mind.
If SPN has to stay on Friday why not Nikita.
    SPN/AMNT is a horrible fit.

    ReplyDelete
  5.  Probably because AMNTM goes away in midseason, and Cult (a much better fit) replaces it.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I hope not, Nikita would crash and Burn on Wed because it would go up against Modern Family and I really want the show to have a 4th season too.

    ReplyDelete
  7. wtf? nikita after the beauty and beast? still better than fridays i guess

    ReplyDelete
  8. I actually like this schedule. Nikita deserves better than Friday

    ReplyDelete
  9.  So the Cult and AMNTM to fill in.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Good. Nakita will flop and flop hard. On Wednesday. Haha I hope they pull it mid season cause the ratings are so bad. What a terrible show. Should of been cancelled.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Wednesday: Nikita/ANTM
    Thursday: Beauty & the Beast/TVD or TVD/SPN
    Friday: Arrow/SPN or Beauty & the Beast/Arrow

Cult could go with TVD or SPN if one of the others is only 1/2 Season

Keep ANTM AWAY from SPN; totally different fan bases!

    ReplyDelete
  12. I'd guess ANMTM just airs in September to December, and Cult takes it's place after the Christmas break.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Beauty and the Beast/Nikita and ANTM/Supernatural seem like really horrible pairings, although the rest of them make sense.  Honestly I'd stick Beauty and the Beast with ANTM.  It's not a great fit either but to be perfectly blunt I see B&B being the first flop for the CW next season anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  14. This schedule looks quite good but ANTM paired with Supernatural who thought of that brilliant idea .. ridiculous !!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Nooo I want Nikita on Fridays with SPN! And Arrow after TVD? Thats a bug nooo!!!!!

    It should be:
    Arrow
    HoD

    90210
    Carrie

    First cut
    ANTM

    TVD
    B&tB

    SPN
    Nikita

    ReplyDelete
  16. I don't like this schedule. Hope it's just a rumor.
Supernatural& America's Next Top Model together?!?

    ReplyDelete
  17. That schedule came from a Nikita Fan, because the only thing that is changed is ANTM and Nikita.

    ReplyDelete
  18. That won't work.  They moved Supernatural from Gossip Girl or One Tree Hill at the beginning.  Seriously.  Let's just cancel the show, right?  How stupid can you get.

    ReplyDelete
  19. With ANTM staring to struggle it is on its last legs and it is not really compatible with any of the new shows. Look at Friday as the retirement-home for old shows

    ReplyDelete
  20.  Honestly what has Nikita done to be moved from Fridays?
Supernatural got a slap in the face if this turns out to be true.
I don't like being stuck on Fridays and with Tyra.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Why on earth mess with if it isn't broken?

Nikita has already established an fan base on Fridays with Supernatural so leave it the heck alone.

At this point it would be sheer stupidity to even consider switching.

    ReplyDelete
  22. What the fuck? Excuse my French but Nikita (as much as I LIKE this show) gets moved from death watch? I understand The CW needs something to hold down their Friday nights but it's a consistent, solid performer and should be rewarded as such, just saying, this better not be true

    ReplyDelete
  23. This mock schedule is bull shit

  24. A lot of this Is as I suspected.

Monday-Those are shows I excepted although I thought they would keep hart of dixie In present time
    Tuesday-As I thought
wedsday-Shock moving America's next top model and moving nikita there.Although I had suspecion Beauty and the beast would end up on wedsday
    Thursday-No surprise
friday-Again surprise move of America's next top model.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Nikita has done nothing to prove it deserves a move off Friday. Supernatural does deserves the move off Friday but I don't see it happening for either show. My guess is they both stay as is on Friday.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I mean wouldn't the CW want to get Supernatural away from Grimm & Fringe next season and give it a good chance of actually getting over a 1.0 in 18-49 on a Wednesday instead of Nikita who has shown nothing that it would actually do well elsewhere.. Look at when they gave it the Thursday 9pm spot with a good lead-in, it was under 1.0 in 18-49 with 9 episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Surely TVD and Supernatural would be a good mix, just like they used to be.

    ReplyDelete
  28. How is NIKITA popular with affiliates? It airs before the higher rated SPN, generally affiliates like the higher rated show to air at 9 as it gives them a better lead in to what airs after. I cant imagine any affiliate wanting a show that does as crap as Nikita to be aired at 9pm.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Problem is timing as well. Certain shows can't be before 9pm. Arrow is probably after 9pm for that reason.

    ReplyDelete
  30. In all fairness ANTM was doing OK in the Fall, its numbers only sunk in the spring cycle.  It is possible it will do well in September to December in its regular time slot and then the CW will decide whether to bring it back for a second cycle or not.

    ReplyDelete
  31. BTW Nikita just got another 0.4 in 18-49 for last night's episode

    ReplyDelete
  32. which is why I think it will get the post TVD slot. We also have to take in to account what the advertisers want, they seem to have some sway when it comes to where a show is placed. Generally the most buzzed about show will get a Thursday slot as Thursdays is the night that generates the most add revenue, basically the premium for a Thursday show is likely to be higher where as on Friday it is lower.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I get what you are saying, I just hate having low rated shows as lead in's it makes no sense to me.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Why would you waste your best timeslot for launching a new show on something going into it's 8th season?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Because the 2 last new shows put in this timeslot have miserably failed.
It'll most likely be Arrow next season, I hope it can work this time.

    ReplyDelete
  36. This looks about right to me honestly.

The only surprise at all is Top Model moving to Fridays with SPN and  I can see some logic behind it. Both series are aged and have established fanbases that will not gather many new fans. Putting them on Friday allows other series that can grow a new fanbase the possibility to do so on other nights.

It makes no sense to start a show they have hopes for on a Friday night so Beauty and the Beast goes to Wednesday along with Nikita. Nikita is getting a last shot at saving itself being moved to a more friendly time slot. If its numbers do not improve it will be possibly moved to Friday to run out its episodes and then cancelled.

Arrow is the top new show so pairing it with their current top series is expected.
Carries Diaries being with 90210 was expected as was First Cut with Hart of Dixie.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Honestly I think Nikita being moved from Friday is the actual death watch. This is its last chance to grow its numbers on a more friendly night. If it does not it will be cancelled.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Yikes... America's Next Top Model and Supernatural? That just doesn't seem right... I wish they'd move SPN to Thursdays, following The Vampire Diaries. That seems like a pretty natural pairing.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Ha another 0.4 yet secret circle had 0.7. Someones doing a little suckie suckie on the side. Pathetic I tell ya. Horrible show.

    ReplyDelete
  40. looking how bad this schedule looks they will proberly put gossip girl with supernatural mid season

    ReplyDelete
  41. ANTM and Supernatural? LOL That's just sooo wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Beauty and the beast gett
ing a full order and not CULT???? CW
    is really CRAP!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  43. This schedule makes no sense but then again renewing Nikita makes no business sense either.  How can the lowest rated show be one of the most popular for affiliates?  Even if total viewers are not horrible, I thought TV stations also get advertising prices based on demo numbers and Nikita's demos suck badly.

As for ANTM and Supernatural, that is one weird pairing but it is better than pairing it with Gossip Girl.  Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday seem about right to me though.  It does put Carrie Diaries in the "cursed" slot but I'm good with that.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Both Nikita and The Secret Circle debuted to big numbers.Retaining the audience is another matter.

Plus, I don't think you want Supernatural off Friday's. Chances are it loses a few viewers (because most shows do season-to-season, especially late) and the lower standard on Friday night could get you a ninth season.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I think Arrow has the potential to be self-sufficient like Supernatural, where it can go anywhere in the schedule and people would follow it.  At least I hope that's the case given that the CW desperately needs a hit - something that gets higher demos than VD.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Unfortunately the opportunity cost for the CW would be far too high.  VD needs to be used as a launching pad for a new show.  If they cannot find a new show that realistically can get better demos than VD, then the entire netlet is at risk of being cancelled in the next couple of years.  They need at least 2 shows to make it big this upcoming season. I don't see SPN moving from Fridays but if it did, it would be used to help "save" another night.  Thursday is already the CW's biggest night no matter what the other show paired with VD does.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Doing this pretty much dooms Cult though in my opinion.  That show is going to need a whole lot of promotion and nurturing for such an interesting concept to float.  Not sure it would happen for a Friday show, although I intend to give it a shot no matter where it is placed.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I like Nikita and consider it, Missing, and Burn Notice to be the best action shows on TV.  However, the only thing Nikita "deserves" with its ratings is to be cancelled.  I think Nikita fans should be happy wherever it lands on the schedule.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Actually besides the Friday lineup the rest makes perfect sence... And I really don't think it's all that bad either.
SPN fans are stable. They'll follow that show wherever after or before whatever it's paired with.
When the first round of ANTM is done they can switch that up with Cult for it's 13 episode run and they'll be able to promote Cult during ANTM. Granted they might not have the most compatible audience but it could work. Or they can let GG die out on Friday where nobody will care because SPN fans will follow SPN as stated above and anyone who wants to catch the last stretch of GG can do so at their own leasure.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Supernatural was never paired with Gossip Girl or One Tree Hill.  It was paired with Gilmore Girls in its first season, largely because Jared Padalecki was best known for his role as Dean on the Gilmore Girls.  I don't think ANTM will be a good pairing either but it's better than Gossip Girl.  Really it's Cult crew and cast that should be screaming if this schedule is true.  SPN will be fine wherever it goes.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Cult producers requested NOT getting a full season they want to map the season out in 13 episodes or less

    ReplyDelete
  52. I agree.  I think in a world of making no sense and having all around bad choices, the CW has to put Arrow after VD.  Thursdays are huge for them so their most buzzed about show needs to go there.  They simply must have a hit new show this year and that is the best shot to get one.  Plus Thursday is flush with movie ads and Arrow's target audience should be similar to most movie audience targets.  It's a good fit all the way around.  The only way I see Arrow not being on Thursday is if they use it to build another night.  Since we all saw how successful that was for Ringer, I'm guessing they won't risk it this time.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Re HoD: it seems to have found a solid stable audience so I'm not too surprised they might use it to anchor the night. But personally I would have prefered if they'd kept it for later.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Grimm and Fringe are very strong competitors for SPN true, but there is a built in SPN fanbase that will watch SPN regradless of where or when it is.
And with Fringe having a limited order for next season, hoping to maybe get back some of the audience that might have left the live SPN watching and moved on to Fringe, thus keeping SPN put, is not a bad tactic.

    ReplyDelete
  55. The lineup for friday seems ... weird. A lot. But then again, I don't see how else they could do it.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Flip Monday and Tuesday and your dream schedule pretty much matches mine.  As for the real schedule, I think basically the same with the exception that the older shows are far more likely to start the night than the new shows with the exception of VD.  I could also see them moving 90210 back to its original slot and taking Carrie Diaries with it to keep that Gossip Girl feel.  If that is the case, HoD and First Cut would go to Tuesday.  Gossip Girl will likely take ANTM's place instead of Cult, leaving Cult as schedule spackle.

    ReplyDelete
  57. This.  The whole thing became even more suspect with that statement.  How any affiliate would want a show with a 0.4 ratings going right before their news segments makes absolutely no sense.  It sounds more like wishful thinking from a fan or a sign that Mark Pedowitz, who at least does have better taste than Dawn Ostroff, will be making her same mistakes but worse because Gossip Girl was never in as bad a situation as Nikita is right now in the ratings.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Supernatural's ratings have proven that neither Grimm nor Fringe effect it in the least.  SPN stays the same ratings wise whether there is a new Grimm or not.  It stays the same whether there is a new Fringe or not.  At this point the network more likely to change anything is NBC.  Grimm is somewhat a hit for them so they may choose to use it to launch another night.  Supernatural and Fringe will stay where they are.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Now THAT would be tragic.  I always watch the last 5-10 minutes of whatever airs before SPN so that I can set up my DVD recorder.  While I can maybe stomach Tyra Banks pontificating during that time, I'm not sure I can handle Serena before SPN even for 11 weeks.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Taking into account everything you have said I agree on some level. But while SPN didnt have great ratings this past season it was still the number 2 show on the network.

The whole idea of a new show is to refill the gap an old show has left behind, the problem the CW have is that they have been unable to produce hits in the past few years which can do that job and take the place of the older shows with bigger ratings. The older shows are getting better ratings than the new shows which makes it hard for the network to just get rid of the ageing shows.

As long as the CW continue to renew lower rated shows than SPN and continue to fail in producing adequate replacements ratings wise then the chances are SPN will continue to be one of the better performers and continue to be renewed.

As it is 90210, Nikita, HOD (ANTM and GG) all make the schedule next season and were all lower rated than SPN this season. With the way shows tend to shed viewers and ratings with each season it seems that SPN will  already have an advantage over half the line up. Not to mention the fact that it is unlikely that all 5 new shows will be hits.

    ReplyDelete
  61. True, ANTM did better than any other show except for VD and TSC last fall.  I think ti is more tied to the contestants than anything so if they have some interesting potential models it will likely be up again next year.  I don't watch but I've heard a lot of people complaining about the format for this particular cycle.  I'm not sure that moving it to Friday like the posted schedule says would do any good if they want it to rise though.  I foresee ANTM staying put on Wednesdays but likely moving to one hour earlier.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Nikita's total viewers haven't been all that good lately either.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Didn't think of it like that. Good points.

    ReplyDelete
  64. pinkphoenix198512 May 2012 at 18:48

Yeah, agreed. Personally, I think that S9-S10 of Supernatural are a done deal unless the J2s don't sign on for them or the ratings or more importantly the demos take a nosedive. I'm sure that at least the WB will want to get the most out of SPN and having it go on for a few more seasons is to their benefit.

    ReplyDelete
  65. True but they are still higher than everything but VD and SPN, while flip flopping with Hart of Dixie.

    ReplyDelete
  66. hahaha, thanks for the laugh, but you are right this would be atrocious!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Actually, "Nikita" was averaging a 1.1 in the demos on Thursdays at 9:00 - which is higher than most of the shows on the CW are pulling right now (excluding "Supernatural," because of the Friday effect). Moving "Nikita" could increase its ratings to the average CW level (because I doubt it'll get more than a 1.0) but I think they're better off leaving their Friday in tact since it's so stable.

    ReplyDelete
  68. "Gossip Girl" has also never aired on Fridays at 8:00. Every show is going to pull lower ratings on Fridays than they would on any other day of the week. "Nikita" averaged a 1.1 in the demos on Thursdays at 9:00 and then it moved to Fridays at 8:00 and started averaging a 0.5. That's a result of the move to Friday. So you can't compare the ratings of "Nikita" and "Supernatural" to the other shows on the network because all of the other shows are barely pulling higher demo numbers than "Nikita" and they're airing during the week, in prime TV real estate. Plus, "Nikita" is often pulling higher total viewers on Fridays than most shows on the CW and while I know that those numbers don't really mean as much to networks, I can't help but feel like it's being taken into consideration here (as well as the Friday Effect - which others have said means adding roughly 0.2 to Friday demos - and online/DVR/international viewing).

    ReplyDelete
  69. The schedule is actually nice.
MONDAYS: Medical dramas, and Dixie could anchor a night and wishing First Cut becomes a sleeper hit, which I believe it will.
TUESDAYS: Girl night, whatever. Carrie Diaries might crash and burn on the Tuesday deathslot, and after 90210. Pedowitz might care less about this shows. It's like Ostroff being hateful towards SPN and Smallvile.
WEDNESDAYS: It's actually interesting. Beauty and the Beast might be another hit, and Nikita needs to be moved from Fridays to survive. Both shows seem to be compatible, and don't share the same audiences as ABC's comedy block or FOX's Idol.
THURSDAYS: Arrow will receive the luckiest timeslot. Hopefully, it will survive.
FRIDAY: SPN is the strongest show of the network, besides TVD. That's why they'll keep the show on Fridays. ANTM will die soon, so the network doesn't really care about it. I don't know why SPN's fans are so worried about the change. Sure, it's an unlike pairing, but it doesn't hurt when you have two established shows on the same night.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Some of the new shows look interesting and I will give them a try. i am super pleased that Nikita is coming back on whatever night it shows up on but it looks like I will be having Tuesdays off as both shows have no interest to me at all. And Freeing up Friday with just Supernatural to watch will make Fridays less busy and mean my weekend will be less about playing DVR catch up! Of course this is before I start adding all the other shows from the other networks!

    ReplyDelete
  71. While it might be a good move for Nikita, a pairing of Supernatural and ANTM seems odd, besides old steady ratings.. the two demographics not seem to be matching at all...

    ReplyDelete
  72. Nikita on Wednesday... who was it that told me they wouldn't move Nikita?

    ReplyDelete
  73. I think they'd be much better off switching Arrow and BTB. Arrow is meant to attract male viewers, meaning it's probably best to pair it with either SPN or Nikita. SPN has it's own very dedicated following so it'd be wiser to pair it with Nikita (Arrow at 8, Nikita at 9). BTB seems like it would fit the best with TVD, seeing as it's a lighter show - something most TVD fans would appreciate as a follow-up. Either that or switch TVD to 9pm and BTB to 8pm.

    ReplyDelete
  74. dahne = brandy=Nikita hater

there is nothing worse then a hater saying they like a show but still want it cancelled. Its pathetic really because do they really believe we believe them. NO we dont because no matter how the ratings are we dont want our favorites cancelled. Also Nikita is getting same demo on a friday in springtime as GG and ANTM do on the weekdays and only 0.1  under almost all their other shows. How is that not good. Go take a hike haters. Everything isnt ratings. When a show like Nikita is HUGE overseas for warner and CW

    ReplyDelete
  75. Michael=Bondeal=delusional

    ReplyDelete
  76. or it could simply be the fact that the CW had gaps in the schedule and needed to fill it with something other than repeats? I'm sure they would have preferred to have cancelled Nikita and HOD and replace them with new shows but with budgetary restraints were unable to do so.

Nikita's advantage I agree was that it aired on Friday at 8pm, Which is where I expect it to remain. I cant imagine CW affiliates being happy with the show being aired on Wednesday at 8pm.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I'll be surprised if it does any better than it has done this season.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Is Nikita the new Gossip Girl?

    ReplyDelete
  79. Yup! NIKITA is the new GOSSIP GIRL; get used to it ;)

    ReplyDelete
  80.  how am i delusional if i was right all along. BOOOOYAAHHH!!!

in your face hater he he

    ReplyDelete
  81. Secret circle was renewed and its not in the rumored schedule so it is a rumor, nikita however hasn't been renewed as yet

    ReplyDelete

    1. They cancelled sc unfourtantly. And kept nakita. Nonsense right.

      Delete
  82. All you nakita fans know the show will do horrible on wednesdays that's why you don't want it moved. Its a really crappy show. Should of been cancelled last year, I can't wait to watch it fail. Aweful show terrible acting.. that lead actress is so bad. How does she even have a job in tv. Ughh it disgusts me.

    ReplyDelete
  83. um hello secret circle was canceled nikita renewed

    ReplyDelete
  84. i dont see them pairing spn with antm. that would be the mother of all boneheaded moves. now, i can see them pairing spn with arrow, or keeping nikita right where it is.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Whats your point? Supernatural isn't on death watch and doesn't need to be moved. It does fine where it is. You are getting angry over nothing.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Shaneice Richardson13 May 2012 at 01:47

    has secret circle been cancelled?

    ReplyDelete
  87. Yes, it is. At least Nikita is Emmy-worthy. GG is crap.

    ReplyDelete
  88. According to this site, Nikita averaged a 0.9 in demo last year which for some reason sounds more like what I remember from last year.  Unfortunately I only tracked Supernatural ratings last year so I don't have the episode by episode info that I have for this year.  I do remember that it's first half season average was much higher than the second half.  The second half may be a better way to judge how much of a Friday effect Nikita had because it does not take into account the bloated premiere numbers most shows have when they start.

    http://tvseriesfinale.com/tv-show/nikita-ratings-2011-2012/comment-page-3/

I agree that Gossip Girl has lousy ratings.  My point was more that Nikita may be the new Gossip Girl, a show that continues on despite what conventional wisdom would say about the ratings and is generally thought of as the netlet head's baby for better or worse.  I'm not sure that does the netlet as a whole any favors although I personally am glad that Nikita will continue.  To me it seems like the case was made that all the bubble shows sucked so why not save the one Pedowitz likes.  I agree with tvmonkey that if the CW had the budget, they would have axed Nikita and Hart of Dixie and gambled on finding something that could do better.

im fine with everything except i think that nikita and ANTM should switch as much as i would like to not be on friday's i dont know if it would work well on wednesday or any day after being move to friday already. but i could be wrong. And i really like Arrow being after VD thats a good fit.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Daniel de Oliveira13 May 2012 at 05:36

ANTM started losing numbers because the All-Stars (fall cycle) was not what the fans expected. Indeed, was very below our expectations. Then, to finish it, Tyra screws up with the winner again (it should've been Allison Harvard, the fan favorite, not Lisa, for the ratings' sake. Some people said if Allison lost it again they'd never watch the show again), and then we have the spring cycle (British Invasion) flopping hard. Tyra and the entire ANTM crew deserved it. They should do a plus size or a male cycle to attract viewers.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Yeah. A new show on Friday...that's going to be really tough to introduce on CW.

    ReplyDelete
  92. I'll definately take what I can get. Ratings meh. Nikita is an awesome show that was put on the 'reaper' night, as I like to call it, way too early.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Exactly. They're just not playing with what works. For a CW show in its 7th going on 8th season, Supernatural is doing great.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Well, at least it's steady. lol

    ReplyDelete
  95. Hah! I'd feel the same. Nikita and SPN on the same night worked for me because I watched both shows, and Vampire Diaries being at 8pm works for me because that's the only show I watch besides Nikita and SPN on the CW. Though if Secret Circle had been before VD I could stomach it cause it seems like a decent show, I just couldn't get into it when I saw it's first episode. Maybe I had too much high expectations after seeing VD. Don't know.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Exactly! Nikita is way more worthy than GG.

  97. I don't think it's a perfect fit, but the time slot is for Arrow. Thursdays are the best night for CW.

Nikita wasn't renewed because of its US ratings.  But because of the money that it brings from overseas rights.  US TV ratings is becoming less and less irrelevant these days when international money is involved.

    ReplyDelete
  99.  Very true. Like SPN, in my country it was shown on both cable TV & national TV.

    ReplyDelete
  100. I meant in that Nikita can hit rock bottom in ratings but still be renewed year after year because its a MP favourite much like GG was a DO fave.

GG was a actually a ratings hit for the CW for many years, made lots of money, had international success. Even this season GG had better ratings that Nikita.

  101. For CW, I think Nikita proves that international licensing is a viable, alternative income producer. Its the most obvious reason why it was renewed. Its international reach has been specifically developed. The show is licensed to 10+ European markets and 25+Latin, Middle and East Asian, African, media markets so I think it DESERVES a renewal nod for the CW sourcing out new ways to make the network viable internationally as opposed to only internally in the US market. Also, this was CW's stab at making an adult-oriented action show. Who knows, maybe it will be the 1st to WIN an Emmy, instead of just the 1st to earn one for the CW.

  102. Gossip Girl is shown in over 30 countries and Supernatural is shown in at least 53, some countries paying twice - once for whatever season that country is currently airing and also for previous seasons.  In fact, many CW shows are shown as part of a lump sum package with the WB.  If you get one show, you get several others too so in those countries no ONE show can get credit for international sales.  I hate that we lack the data to make credible assumptions about how well a show does overseas.  Ideally there would be comparable ratings in each country so we would know exactly how popular these shows were overseas.  It would also be interesting to see how many countries showed just certain WB-produced CW shows instead of a package deal.  That would tell us more accurately how well received a show is internationally.  Right now it's like comparing apples and oranges.

I applaud the CW for trying something new with Nikita and looking for a more diverse audience.  I enjoy the show myself.  But there is no way that Nikita is going to win an Emmy and it's not the only show to air on the CW to receive an Emmy nomination.  Supernatural was nominated twice.

  103. worst ever for a few. NIKITA WITH BEAUTY AND THE BEAST?!

    Why not ARROW AND NIKITA!
They're both the same show genres kind of.

America's Next Top Model and Supernatural what a laugh!

Supernatural and Cult maybe or Vampire Diaries and Cult.

    ReplyDelete
  104. I think that's a good move for Nikita actually, well any day but friday to tell the truth ;)

    ReplyDelete
  105. Smallville too I believe

    ReplyDelete
  106. Doesn't bother me. It's my favorite show so if he loves it, all the better for me. But I remember reading that he said that he's obsessed with TVD and SPN. If I had to guess his shows in preference, it would definitely be those three from TVD, SPN and then NIKITA.

I have to admit though that I'll be happy if they move NIKITA. It's obvious they won't switch SPN to an earlier time  to help launch a new show and it's doing just fine where it is.

They don't have to renew NIKITA for a fourth, but with it only being one season away from syndication after the third season, they might as well try to improve its ratings to at least keep it that long and frankly I don't see nothing wrong with that.

  107. Mondays - Hart of Dixie and The Final Cut on Mondays, perfect!

Tuesdays - 90210 and The Carrie Diaries, okay I guess, it's a high school drama right?

Sounds almost exactly like GG, I would have put Gossip Girl and The Carrie Diaries together until Gossip Girl finishes, then The Carrie Diaries can leach off it's audience and still have 90210.

Wednesdays - Nikita and...Beauty and The Beast. strange choices.

I would have done - ANTM  on Wednesday with Beauty and The Beast.

Thursdays - TVD and...Arrow. Hmmm makes sense I guess, TVD was hooked up to Smallville when it first started and Smallville helped it launch, so some of that audience is probably still there...

But really I would have put Arrow with Nikita - fast paced, action packed, kinda shades of grey heroes - they would've been perfect together.

Fridays - Supernatural with...America's Next Top Model...???! This is some kind of sick joke right?! PLEASE TELL ME THEY ARE NOT SERIOUS ABOUT THIS.

There is simply, NO WAY that Supernatural and ANTM will be good Friday night partners, it makes NO SENSE. The shows are not similar in any way, shape or form and cannot build off each other's audiences at all.

I would have put Supernatural with Cult - perfect, Cult can build off Supernatural audience, it's a detective, strange-things-are-happening kind of show.

Plus if there was ever any audience that could relate to "investigating the rabid fans of the series who might be re-creating crimes seen on the program, in real life." it would be Supernatural fans. And I say that with 100% love, I'm a Supernatural obsessed fan myself.

So some good picks and some are so WTF, it's crazy.

But then again, this is the CW, they have CRAZY in the office water cooler.

  108. I wanted to clarify that I was not including Supernatural as a part of this group since it was originally developed and aired on WB. Also, I think most people agree it wasn't in danger of cancellation, relative to other CW shows.

I was referring exclusively to scripted shows produced under the CW (after WB & UPN merger) like TVD,GG, 90210, The Secret Circle, HOD, Ringer, Nikita. Minus TVD, Supernatural, 90210, the remaining shows were more comparable to one another in terms of ratings this past season. As with the Emmy nod, I was also referring to this CW group of shows. Nikita is the first to receive one.My international licensing info is based on the current season rosters for Warner TVAsia which is currently showing Nikita, Gossip Girl, and The Secret Circle. Warner (LatinAmerica) did broadcast Nikita S1, Ringer, TSC and Supernatural. The subscription dl service at Sohu.com has a licensing deal with the WB. From the CW in Fall 2011, it only licensed Nikita and Gossip Girl, which happen to be their 2 most popular US series downloads. My point is since Nikita's US ratings would seem not to warrant a renewal by normal standards, it would be reasonable to assume its renewal might lie in other factors like licensing. As to package distribution deals, I don't know how they determine cost or if 1 show is valued over another but I just placed more importance on shows that are broadcast currently. Nikita was renewed for a third season. That's not chance. Since international distribution and production quality are often cited as positives outstanding with Nikita, why not consider these as reasons why it was renewed?

  109. Wed  Arrow/Nikita
    Thurs  TVD/Beauty & The Beast
Fri When Cult takes over for ANTM the pairing works.

I like Beauty better with TVD and they dont throw their new show with the best potential (Arrow) to the wolves.  Also Arrow and Nikita pair nicely as an adventure block that could help both shows.

Supernatural and Next Model the same day?

    ReplyDelete
  111. I honestly believe TVD and SPN should be paired together like they were before every Thursday night

    ReplyDelete
  112. vampire diaries should be fridays at 8 having it with supernatural is good in the first place

    ReplyDelete
  113. I would prefer they leave it at 9pm on Fridays. It's where it belongs now. And it damn well better not be moved to 8pm to be a lead-in. lol

    ReplyDelete
  114. I completely agree.  For as many people who hate that SPN is on a Friday, I think it is a good thing.  Also agree that 8 pm is too early for Supernatural.  First off, it's not even dark then in some months.  Also its content seems better suited for later and I would hate to have them tone things down to be more family friendly.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Interesting idea.  That might turn the ratings around.

    ReplyDelete
  116. PRECISELY why I have always vied for the 9pm slot. Don't water down my gory show.

    ReplyDelete
  117. I like this schedule and hope this is what the CW goes with.

    ReplyDelete
  118. I just read on Deadline Hollyood that B&TB is more likely to take the post - TVD timeslot being similarly female skewed like TVD and not Arrow. So that put's a potential snag in this theoretical line up that has B&TB on Wednesdays at 8 followed by Nikita at 9.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Just read that too.

Also Nikita wont be a 9pm show I dont think CW affiliates will be happy with that and its not near strong enough to be a lead in for a new show.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Thursday is the highest day for add revenue, TVD is the nets strongest show. It will not be moved to Friday and furthermore they will not be wasting their strongest lead in on an existing show especially not the second highest rated show on the network.

    ReplyDelete
  121. thanks for the update! wonder what the real schedule will be like
will they dare to launch Arrow on friday with supernatural or put arrow with Nikita on say Wednesday i cant image arrow with hart of dixie, 90210 or top model

    ReplyDelete
  122. I would love a an Arrow/SPN pairing on a non-Friday timeslot, too. The other logical pairing would be Nikita/Arrrow or Arrow/Nikita, also on a non-Friday timeslot except IDK how "dark" Arrow will be as opposed to more family friendly Smallville. Barring my dreamteam of Arrow/SPN I would leave the current Friday line-up as is (Nikita/SPN).

I consider ^^^^ "this schedule" (ANTM/SPN) an abomination - I wouldn't pair the current season #2 show with a "fading and now rapidly dying show". Just because SPN and ANTM are going to be The CW's oldest show's next season doesn't mean SPN still doesn't have plenty of gas in it's Impala :).

    ReplyDelete
  123. The only "reason" I can think of if this ^^^ is true is that Nikita *may have*  higher 25-54 demos than ANTM, and I'm not even positive that that's true.

I'm also somewhat sceptical that The CW can afford to promote a record 4 new shows and multiple returning show schedule (time/day) changes. Myself - I would leave ANTM on Wednesdays at either 8 or 9 and pair with the final season of GG. I would leave TCD to premiere in midseason in GG's place.Obviously Cult was always planned for midseason with only a 13 ep S1 order.

    ReplyDelete
  124. USA today just had report on possable CW schedule and much of this report appear to be BS.

    Here Is rumored schedule

Monday-Gossip Girl(The Carrie diaires takes over midseason) 90210
    Tuesday-Hart of Dixie,First Cut
    Wedsday-Arrow,Supernatural
Thursday-The Vampire Diaires,Beauty and the Beast
    Friday-America's next top model,Nikita

    Cult at midseason

If this Is schedule Nikita gets royally screwed.

    ReplyDelete
  125. In case anyone wants it, here's the link to "The CW" Schedule that Chris Roberts is referring to:

    http://www.usatoday.com/life/television/news/story/2012-05-16/CW-fall-lineup/55029662/1

I like this schedule much better. I do love Nikita, but not at the expense of SPN. Jared and Jensen are going to attend the CW upfronts for the first time (I think) since S2 and I hope that "this" (the Arrow.SPN pairing) is part of the reason they are attending.

Crosses fingers :). The USA schedule is radically different than the previous "rumored" one.

    ReplyDelete
  126.  That would be really cool and only fair to SPN which has done its dutuy for the network by keeping a steady rating, and it should be rewarded in some way.

Great news too about the boys going to the CW upfronts. It seems the new guy is giving them a little more attention. :)

    ReplyDelete
  127. That schedule is likely untrue.  There's talk that Nikita is actually now slotted as mid-season replacement instead of right off the bat screened.  In that case, they are not going to put Cult  on Friday whilst keeping Supernatural on Wednesday.

    ReplyDelete
  128.  How can Nikita be mid-season if it has 22 episodes? That makes no sense.

    ReplyDelete
  129.  Friday

    America's Next Top Model

    Supernatural

Lol, that's a great pairing right there... wtf ?

    ReplyDelete
  130.  If this comes to be true I will give the CW a piece of my mind.
If SPN has to stay on Friday why not Nikita.
    SPN/AMNT is a horrible fit.

    ReplyDelete
  131. I get what you are saying, I just hate having low rated shows as lead in's it makes no sense to me.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Honestly I think Nikita being moved from Friday is the actual death watch. This is its last chance to grow its numbers on a more friendly night. If it does not it will be cancelled.

    ReplyDelete

As surprising as the rumored schedule is I won't be surprised if they do put SPN with ANTM. they are the two shows remaining from the old WB/UPN days before the CW and if they do this move it indicates to me that they are trying to phase both of the shows out...they are the oldest on the network and aren't "original" CW material. I mean SPN performs okay on Fridays but it is showing some of its age unfortunately as is ANTM in its timeslot.

I mean there is S8 in the bag but as far as I know the Js haven't signed passed S8 so it is up in the air a little for S9-10. We will probably hear during S8 if they have signed on or not. I have no idea about ANTM so I can't say...

It does make sense especially since the CW is still struggling to make a footing in the ratings beyond fifth place and they would like new programming to do just that..
