-Ratings Breakdown:
ABC danced its way to another overnight Monday victory with a first-place finish in each of the six half-hours care of its combination of Dancing With the Stars (11.8 rating/18 from 8-10 p.m.) and Castle (7.9/13 at 10 p.m.). Head-to-head, Dancing With the Stars almost doubled The Voice on NBC (6.0/ 9 from 8-10 p.m.) in the overnights. But The Voice will hold a noticeable advantage among adults 18-49, and Dancing With the Stars dipped by 20 percent from one year earlier (versus a 14.8/22 on 5/02/11). The Voice, in contrast, built from year-ago occupants Chuck (2.9/ 4 on 5/02/11) and The Event (2.8/ 4) by 111 percent.

Here is the half-hour breakdown for both Dancing With the Stars and The Voice:

Dancing With the Stars (ABC)
8:00 p.m.: 10.9/17 (#1)
8:30 p.m.: 11.8/18 (#1)
9:00 p.m.: 12.2/18 (#1)
9:30 p.m.: 12.2/18 (#1)

The Voice (NBC)
8:00 p.m.: 5.8/ 9 (#2)
8:30 p.m.: 6.0/ 9 (#2)
9:00 p.m.: 6.1/ 9 (#3)
9:30 p.m.: 6.0/ 9 (#3)

As for who I predict will be exiting Dancing With the Stars tonight, it looks it will be the battle of Half Pink versus Urkel, with Melissa Gilbert the more vulnerable of the two. Personally speaking, I thought the judges were way too harsh on Melissa last night.

At 10 p.m., Smash on NBC finished third with a series-low 4.1/ 7 in the overnights. While that did outdeliver year-ago occupant Law & Order: Los Angeles (#3: 3.4/ 5) by 21 percent, retention out of the 9:30 p.m. portion of The Voice was lacking at 68 percent.

It was business as usual on CBS with its solid line-up of How I Met Your Mother (#3: 5.2/ 8), 2 Broke Girls (#3: 5.9/ 9), which really pushed the envelope, so to speak, last night, Two and a Half Men (#2: 7.3/11), Mike & Molly (#2: 6.5/10) and Hawaii Five-O (#2: 7.1/11), which featured a cross-over episode with NCIS: Los Angeles. All five CBS series built year-to-year (Two and a Half Men was a repeat one year earlier, however), with 2 Broke Girls, in particular, up by 51 percent from failed year-ago occupant Mad Love (3.9/ 6 on 5/02/11).

Elsewhere, Fox finished fourth with its pairing of Bones (#4: 4.9/ 7) and House (#4: 4.3/ 6), which officially concludes on May 21. And The CW was a distant fifth, as usual, with Gossip Girl (#5: 1.1/ 2), which really should be concluding at this point, and on-the-fence Hart of Dixie (#5: 1.2/ 2).

  1. I see GG and HOD rose a tenth to 0.6. Shame for Bones 1.9 is a season and probably series low. Great for Castle up from 2.1 to 2.4. CBS comedy as always wins the night.

  7. I hate the new Bones timeslot. Fox ruined everything. Being up against HIMYM, DWTS and The Voice is hard!

  12. I think Melissa and Maks has the fanbase to save them from elimination. Dance duel might be between Roshon and Jaleel. Just from the comments last night.
