  1. I loved it so much. And I shipped Cas/Meg before, but I ship it hardcore now.

And I'm glad Dean didn't forgive Cas yet. He shouldn't.

  2. I created a quick poll and thread you you Supernatural fans... Apologies if the poll is a bit different than usual etc...

    ReplyDelete
  3. And Cas went out like a hero. Another thing Dean will have to live with. At least Meg won't be able to trade him to Crowley now.

  4. This was actually pretty interesting.

  5. :) I love it (..well, it wasn't ''awesome'', it was more 'fine'), it reminded me, like I said in the promo comments, of The Devil you know; a nice and easy episode to catch our breath before the storm

I have to say I LOVED having:
    -A Sam/Cass scene...FINALLY!!
-Cass not having a ''magic forgivness'', he did everything he could to repair, for me he's slowly on his way to redemption (And I know he can..), but he still have work to do. I'm happy Dean thinks the same

  6. I laughed so hard with Cas telling the cat story, but from start to finish this was a gem.  Have only watched it once, but it will not be the last.  Moved the story ahead and I liked Kevin a lot.  So glad to have Angels back and looking forward to Alpha Vamp and Crowley.  This ep will be going right up in my top 5 eps.

  7. Really awesome episode. I have to say I liked that angel dude. Forgot his name. :P He and Castiel must have been good friends for him to still like Cas after everything that went on in Heaven. I guess the fact that there are fewer angels may have an affect too. I wonder how many exactly died and how many are left since the Apocalypse stuff began and then the Civil War in Heaven?

  8. Thanks I was chomping at the bit, loved this ep.

  9. I adored this episode. Lots of plot. The asian prophet wasn't a gimmick character that had a joke coming out of his ass every other scene. They fixed the Castiel problem in a way I didn't expect, but did so perfectly. Lots of drama coming from the boys. All in all, one of the best this season.

  10. Who is the righteous man that they have to get a bone from?

    ReplyDelete
  11. I agree. The conflict between Dean and Cas is nice. I hope to see it continue into the next season.

    ReplyDelete
  12. No clue. My guess? Either someone we don't know, a new character, or I'd say Bobby's if they hadn't burned him.

    They need someone dead.

  13. Ben Edlund should write more episodes. I think my favorite part of this ep was the contrast between the Wnchesters' reactions to what was happening and Kevin's. He. Was. Freaked. It was quite a contrast to Dean and Sam who have come to accept their weird world as normal for them. Dean's patience with Kevin when the kid started to freak out in the basement was very well played. The boys know they are freaks and their world is one most people can't handle and they've finally come to accept that they can and have to.

Cas was a little strange, but it's nice he finally got the stick out of his anatomy. :) Dean doesn't seem to have forgiven him, which is a good thing. He shouldn't just wipe the slate clean after everything. Afterall, the enemy they're now facing is a direct result of Castiel's mistake. I am beginning to really like Meg. Yes, she's a demon -- and by definition is not to be trusted -- but her reasoning is sound and I believed her. Her mission is to get Crowley, the rest -- Sam, Dean, Cas, Leviathons -- are someone else's problems. She's one monster who is not out to take over the world, just accomplish a mission she believes in. I can relate. At least they know her motives and, since the boys have no real love loss for Crowley, they can live with it and use her while they can.

Kevin was cool, I liked him. He seemed to honestly trust the boys which is refreshing. The Levis are craftier than I thought -- but maybe it's too little, too late? The boys have a plan: angel blood (thanks, Cas) Demon blood? (Crowley) and obviously they need the Alpha Vamp's too. Crowley obviousy will play ball since he wants Dick eliminated, but the Vamp? He's under no such obligation. That will be interesting. As for the bone of a righteous human, my first thought is Dean. Dean was dubbed a 'righteous man' when he broke the first seal in Hell, so do they need his bone? That might hurt. But, they've given up more to save the world, would he give up something like that?

There's finally some action and the two last episodes are shaping up to be quite exciting. Can't wait!

  14. I'm just going to say this here and now.  I know no one who dislikes Cas will like this episode.  That doesn't matter much to me because, no one can like everything all the time, and it was about time for Cas-lovers to get catered to a little. There will be plenty of episodes without Cas in them, so giving us this bone sometimes is just a good compromise! This episode had everything a Cas-lover could ..well.. /love/.  Cas got his hug!  WEll, he got to hug both the boys and Sam patted him on the back and, it was beautiful ^^.  Cas' last line this episode was /PERFECT/.  The Sorry-board game and asking Dean if he wanted to go first was /Fantastic/.  I loved the prophet.  I loved the angels, who were conflicted, but not just out and out evil like they've seemed to be more then half the time on this show.

This was a very good, very solid episode.  The one downside is that it falls on the release of Avengers, which means the ratings will probably suck until online and DVR totals are taken into account, and Cas-haters will use it to justify why Cas shouldn't be here. :(

    ReplyDelete
  15. Spot on. The dialogue was sooooooo good! There are so  many quotes that I love from this episode. I loved the Sam and Cas scene. I loved Cas and Dean's scene. I loved Meg and Dean/Sam scene. I even loved the scene between Castiel and Hester right before she died.

I don't think the boys will give up a bone. I mean...how can they keep hunting without a bone and have another season? Hmmm.

    ReplyDelete
  16. On first watch, I liked Meg and very little else about this episode.  Will wait until I rewatch tomorrow before I vote though.  Don't want to have a knee jerk reaction and regret it later.  However, I have a lot of issues with how the situation with Cas was written, which concerned me going in knowing that this was going to be a Ben Edlund - heavy Cas story.  Ben Edlund + Castiel = some of my least favorite episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I feel like I was the only one who didn't catch the whole "You first" line and what it meant.

I really need to watch again.
I liked more the whole, "I'm sorry, Dean." "No, you're only playing sorry." Which I agree. Castiel doesn't really seem to directly facing the consequences of his actions, which is probably why Dean is so freaking frustrated and angry with him. I loved it all.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Yeah, I'll be curious to see how the Avengers release affected the episode.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I loved the first half, but then it became a hot mess, or the Cas & Meg Show, with those two cute Worcestershire Brothers in the background.

It is still about Sam & Dean, isn't it? I can't tell anymore.

If they Cas back, can't he just be Cas? This was Misha Collins playing Misha Collins.

Writers, TPTB, decide where the heck you want to take the Dean & Cas relationship and freaking go there!
This is not entertaining at all, and is both tedious and painful at the same time. Not to mention, the warping these writers do to Dean's character, from one episide to the next, to serve where they want to take Cas. Just end the freaking thing, where you want it to be. It's not Days of Our Lives.

Next week looks good. Thank God for Crowley, lol, because he saves every crap written episode he's in.

    ReplyDelete
  20. What I love the most about this episode, is that they found the answer to the Castiel problem.

Castiel was a problem because he was an angel and was too powerful.

They've dealt with this problem in many ways - making him the antagonist, taking away his powers, etc...

But this is just so perfect. He still has his powers, but is officially disconnected from Sam and Dean AND Heaven. He's now on his own completely, which still leaves plenty of potential for stories for the next season (if he survives the end), and thus keeps him around without killing him or making him human, and yet still resolves the issue that he's too powerful cause now he's not interested in meddling too much anymore.

    It's perfect!

    ReplyDelete
  21. I enjoyed last week's episode more, but holy carp did I ever get the Meg/Cas feels! Which surprised the heck out of me. Also, Cas reminded me of... Misha. If that makes any sense.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Funny that usually means my favorites.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I thought of Dean too--even in that one episode where they needed a "good" man to kill the MotW and Dean tried to get the preacher to do it, Dean ended up being The Good One.  I'm sure there's a way to get only a tiny piece of his bone. After all, if Cas can carve a sigil into their ribs, he can surely remove a piece for this.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I find Castiel and Dean's relationship as it is on screen (not headcanon) vastly entertaining :)

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'm so relieved you said this, because I am questioning my reaction to this ep.

I started out loving it, but got so frustrated by the end. I'm a big Sam&Dean fan, and I love Cas and Meg, but I really wonder if all the writers are burnt out, and can no longer write stories where the brothers are front and center, or at least the movers of the story. (In which case, maybe they need to slash and burn, if you know what I mean)

This season is so odd for me. On the one hand I loved the premise of Butch and Sundance, but I just end up being so disappointed with their execution, because I sure don't see it.

The one thing I did love was the few interactions with the brothers that we did get. It made me miss the days when Ben Edlund wrote for them...

    ReplyDelete
  26. Cas was so different that people on Tumblr were wondering if he hadn't been possessed by Lucifer and was just pretending to be better.

    ReplyDelete
  27. No it makes perfect sense. A friend of mine and I were discussing that the other day. Crazy Cas had a little Misha attitude in him. XD

    ReplyDelete
  28. Was awesome i like the Meg and Cas angel was funny.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Since Lucifer is locked in the cage and wasn't really in Sam's mind (the writers made that clear) then that would be impossible.

Cas is still there, just crazy. And I think there's a bit more to it as well. I'd really like to know what he was thinking when playing "Sorry" with Dean and at the end of the episode.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Well, for me, compared to all the other episodes this season, this was one of the best Sam and Dean episodes where we have each of them actually sitting down, talking and showing their own feelings and opinions about what was happening with the events and the other characters.

I've complained for the lack of Sam and Dean focus in this Season, but I believed that should have happened in other episodes, and this episode was done right cause they needed to eventually deal with Castiel.

    ReplyDelete
  31. That's a good point. I was a bit put off that Cas was written like Misha Collins. I want Cas, if he's in it. But having this odd, rogue, indifferent angel is removing the deus ex problem, while leaving him as an angel. I think human Cas would be boring. So they can have him visit randomly, and fit the story.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Though I am not the biggest Cas fan, I did love the episode.  It had everything in it for me.  Sam and Dean trying to help someone in trouble, who just happened to be a prophet.  I loved how Dean helped him calm down.  I thought the one leviathan that we haven't seen since around the time that Bobby's house burned down, was great.  I liked the whole Meg and Cas thing.  Still don't completely trust Meg, but she was great in this episode, bringing up Lucifer and yellow eyes.  Thouhgh I found it interesting that she called Azazel, yellow eyes, considering I thought Meg was his daughter.  At least that is what he said when he possessed John back in season 1.

Oh and in answer to a question, yes the show is still about Sam and Dean, they save people, help them out in their time of need.  They are still doing that while dealing with their own issues.  Especially trying to figure out if they should forgive Cas for everything that happened.  Oh and loved the angels.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I did before, but I find it detracting from the story now, for me anyway. I wish they would resolve whatever they want, then enter whatever new phase follows.

On the one hand, I agree Dean would not forgive that easily, so it's IC for him. But they drag it all out in such a soap opera way, that it's stealing my enjoyment from it.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Also, if they made him human, he would have been dependent on the boys in learning how to survive as a human. He'd be stuck to them and I'm sure a whole lot of fans would have hated that scenario.

This way this gives them all freedom.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I think it could have been a whole lot more soap opera-y. At least I think Born Again Identy was way more like a soap opera than this episode. I think they didn't go over the top by not making Castiel remorseful to the point of being pathetic and having Dean unload all his feelings on Castiel.

And yet, despite not being direct, Dean did ooze out his feelings a little when talking with the prophet and speaking with Castiel. I think they're doing it little by little as not to have a dramafest. But I could be wrong.

I would also complain their relationship was distracting from the story...if there was a story this season. In fact, this episode was the most story-filled episode of the season and Castiel fit right into it. I thought so anyways. It was episode with the most continuity and consistency of all the episodes this season and that's why I loved it so much.  Also, on another note. The previous episode was also a plot episode, but Charlie was so over the top geeky/quirky and the whole episode structure was so gimmicky that it completely overshadowed the fact that this was the first time the boys outsmarted the leviathans.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Yes all that was why I loved the first half very much. It was like the old seasons.

Then in the second, with a couple exceptions, the story moved on with them literally standing in the background. I don't mind the other characters havimg major moments, but S&D in the corner happened too often this season.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Ah true true. It's the unfortunate consequence of them being humans, and everyone else being vastly more powerful than them.

The writers really have to figure out how to overcome that issue.

For this season, it helps that they're the only ones who actually care about taking down the Leviathans, so it's all up to them. But still, they need something, a weapon, or...I don't know. SOMETHING they can use against the angels, who are so far the only creature they cannot even defend themselves against (at least against the Leviathans they have borax and the demons they have the knife. For angels, the best they can do is use time consuming banishing seals or holy fire that needs to be prepared ahead of time. And even the angel swords aren't that helpful when the Angels are better at manuvering)

    ReplyDelete
  38. I love this comment and agree with a lot of it. Especially "if there was a story this season." lol I hated Born Again, so yeah, I agree, it could be really worse.

You are right about there being a packed action filled story in this. I did love, absolutely love, the first half. To me the secomd half was backsliding into everything that bugged me about S7.

It did make me excited to see where they are going with this. I have some big suspicions, though.

    ReplyDelete
  39. The way the Leviathan took out the angels, maybe they'll learn some secret defense from them, as a bonus. lol

    ReplyDelete
  40. Well, they didn't say it had to be an important bone. Everyone has a little fifth rib or whatever it's called that's basically useless. I just can't imagine them making the point of proclaiming Dean a 'righteous man' who broke the first seal and had to stop the apocalypse and, like Delynn said above you, having him able to kill the Whore of Babylon which apparently only a 'servant of the Lord' could do. He was also able to kill Zachariah and stare right at him which isn't something normal humans are supposed to be able to do. It would just seem strange to use someone else for this purpose when they've spent all this time making Dean a prime candidate. Besides, it would bring the Winchesters into the solution and make them indispensable instead of just window dressing. Just a guess, tho.

I'll just leave it at this: I am an emotional wreck thanks to Mr. Edlund's script and directing, the actors' performances (particularly Misha Collins), and that unexpected cliffhanger ending.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Dean giving up a rib? That would be all kinds of awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Good screenplay and story-writing. :) After such a long time I really enjoyed some well paced scenes with apt and thought provoking dialogues... not just some expected delivery!

But one thing that was a let down for me was that after all their 'Leviathans can't be killed' talk they can suddenly be killed by this Universe's physical property - Fallen Angel's blood and bone of a righteous human! Oh come on!

I was really excited and hopeful that the brothers would have to be on their edge to find a way to get rid of those Goo-Jumpers. Suddenly everything is well and convenient.

    ReplyDelete
  44. first off, the transformers referance was hysterically awesome. secondly, i'm glad to see that Dean is angry, distrustful and unforgiving of castiel. after all, cas did nearly kill sammy when he broke his wall and his arrogance released the leviathans into the world. it would be completely ooc for Dean to even be contemplating forgiveness, or to be buddy-buddy with him. according to what Jensen said at the last comicon, Dean will not be forgiving cas before season's end. while i do still like the character of castiel, i do think it's time to, at the very least, phase the character into the background. the show needs a reset to get back to a set storyard and cohesive storylines. it also needs to get back to focusing on the brothers.many of carver's previous epis did focus on the brothers,so i hope to see him bring that back in s8.

i also noticed in tonite's epi, that there were a few similarities to s5. we had a prophet, mention of an archangel who was once human and elevated to an arch by god. he also has a brother who also stared out human and was elevated to an arch by god (shades of michael and luci).there's also 'the bone of the righteous man' can stop the leviathan paralleling the righteous man can stop the apocolypse. since Dean is the only 'righteous man' that we know of, there's a pretty good chance that it could be him.

next week's epi does look really good, and hey, we may see the Impala by epi's end : ) so let me be the first to say, WELCOME BACK BABY!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Who would remove his rib though? And wouldn't that make him injured for the battle against Dick?

    ReplyDelete
  46. At first I didn't like the too simple way they could kill Angels. It seemed almost inexplicable. I put my hand in you and you die?

But then I realize it was very similar to how Castiel died when he was possessed, with black good coming from out of him. So I don't know...

    ReplyDelete
  47. I don't think Castiel is gonna be in the next episode, so it's gonna be interesting how the boys will convince the Alpha and Crowley to give them blood.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I hope for some Crowley and Alpha interaction! I hope they explain how the Alpha escaped, because he was caught by Crowley when we last saw him.

Amazing ep. Really upped the stakes. Intense, exciting, twisty story. Great stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  50. That's a very interesting point!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Can you write for the show, because I love this.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I expected more from it. But my heart hurts anyways, so I guess it was good.

    ReplyDelete
  53. There are 7 "true" ribs, 3 "false" ribs and 2 "floating" ribs. There are important in protection of your vital organs and among other things. Plus, false and floating ribs are not fully made out of bone, as it has some cartilage to them as well. Plus, the one you're talking about is the 13th rib bone, which falls in the category of floating and only 8% of the adults have them in the general population so who knows.

I would say just cut of his/her(since we don't know if it's Dean) picky toes. He/She would be fine without it. lol.

    ReplyDelete
  54. It was great! We actually got to meet a nice angel! I like that guy!
And finally somebody completely freaked out about all of this like Kevin! It seems like such a natural thing to do and nobody does that! ;)
Not sure what to think of this new Cas. Glad he's feeling "better" and he had some nice scenes here (like the HUG:) or the one with Sam), but I was loosing my patience there sometime, kinda like Dean.
Speaking of Dean, I'm actually glad he hasn't magically forgiven Cas right away, but he's giving him a chance after all that happened. Baby steps.

    I missed Bobby today!

    ReplyDelete
  55. I liked that even with the knowledge that Leviathan are in play, Meg is still dead set on settling up with Crowley.

    ReplyDelete
  56. SupernaturallyMe5 May 2012 at 08:21

I like that Dean still harbours a bit of anger towards Cas.  It reminds me just how deep the scars run.

In a recent interview, Misha Collins said that, while Sam is bit more "forgiving", things between him and Dean are "still strained".  I think he even said Dean is kinda biting his tongue around Cas (which is a first).
However, he goes on to say that he thinks that "there is a little bit of reconcilliation (between Dean and Cas) towards the end of the season."
Overall, a rather solid episode.  Tha been said, next week, CCRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWLLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  57. I really love it.

    ReplyDelete
  58. This is the episodes I been begging for SOME PLOT.
A well rounded episode  RESEARCH, SHOWING CONCERN, EMOTIONS, ACTION, BROTHERS TALKING. This episode should of happen around epi 15 to really get the viewers saying "omg these leviathans maybe me tougher than we thought.

Hopefully the last 2 will finish strong to wash out the taste of a blah season.

    ReplyDelete
  59. "You seem troubled.  Of course that's a primary aspect of your personality so I basically ignore it"

    I do love Meg.

I got so comfortable in being back in the Angel vs. Demon paradigm that I forgot about the Leviathan.

I was worried about   Kevin...poor kid looked like his head was gonna explode *before* he went to fetch The Word.  (the chase on the mental hospital's lawn was a hoot)  His Mom's message that was supposed to *relieve* the pressure was up to the job.

I hope we see Kevin again and I hope he's alive and rescued.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Kevin had some moves, didn't he? I was thinking NFL contract.I'm also thinking Rachel Miner is turning into a much better Meg than anyone else.

Leviathan trumps angel??? Since Gabriel was supposed to slay the monster in the religious version, maybe Lucifer and/or Michael get out to help?

Who is the righteous man that they need a bone from? Bobby? Did they burn Bobby? Jimmy Novak or his daughter?

    ReplyDelete
  61. Depending on how much bone they need, scrapings from the zygomatic arch (cheek bone) or the mastoid process (small bump behind ear) would be good choices.

Unless it has to be a bigger bone. My first thought was Sammy swinging around a femur covered in blood, whacking the Leviathans as they go.

Do you think they have to attack each Levi or just whacking Dick will destroy them all?

    ReplyDelete
  62. Bobby has been burnt.  I don't think it is Jimmy, since he no longer exists and Castiel just gave his blood.  I doubt it is the daughter.  I am thinking along with a few others, that it is probably Dean, because he has been shown to be the righteous man (when he broke the first seal and again when he killed the whore of Babylon.)  Dean definitely doesn't see himself that way though.

this episode was the best scripted of all cover the begining of how the end will be,castiel role of observer he absorved all the mess inside sam broken mind is looks like the yin & yan mentality, the angels are powerless against the leviathan, the new young prophet, crowley, the boys, meg & bobby the final episode will be so epic may be a new powerful character shows up we had to wait who the writer or writers a two hour season finale that happen last time.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Definitely need to watch this again.  First thoughts - although a couple of moments were a little clunky (Sam leaving the bag behind to chase after Meg - the biggest break they've had in fighting Dick)  it felt like the episode was packed with so much good - again, need to rewatch to take it all in.

Not sure what I think of the new Cas yet.  He definitely took a step backward in owning his own stuff, which I didn't like, but I need to know more about what's going on before I judge.  I have a theory about this.  For a while I have thought that Cas might be first angel to get a soul - the first link the Darwinian model.  The angels need something.  They don't have anyone to govern them anymore, and they seem inept in governing themselves without souls to guide their decisions.  I think that's why Cas keeps getting brought back, and I'm wondering if what he took in from Sam was the damaged part of his soul.  Maybe that part of that soul is taking root in Cas and becoming his own, and what we're seeing is emotional overload.

Thank you Ben for giving us a moment to hear Sam's perspective about Cas!  It's been so long since Sam had  a scene (short as it was) to express his POV.

I'm not on the Meg bandwagon yet.  She can continue to watch over Cas, although she should be watched herself while she's doing that, but she doesn't deserve to be in on their plans with the Leviathans.  Just because she's protecting Cas (for her own interests), that doesn't mean she can be trusted.

I wonder if her comments about Crowley are forshadowing that Crowley might be the Big Bad next season.  I'm all in the for that.  He's too awesome a character to not have a significant role, but right now his presence seems a little forced, and like Meg, I don't buy him as a friend.

Kevin was amusing and not annoying like I expected him to be.  I also liked the male angel and wouldn't mind seeing him again if there's an appropriate angel episode.

Finally, I loved the way the lighting tied all of these events together in a non-forced way.

    ReplyDelete
  65. this is the little bit of what was written in the notebook that was shown

"the body will flounder, waste not thy time nor the breathe upon the leviathan herd. Point thy blade at heart of their master, for from him springs all their messages. Leviathan cannot be slain but by a bone of a righteous mortal, as light and good as the leviathan are hungry and dark, washed in the three bloods of the fallen; a fallen angel, the ruler of fallen humanity and the father of fallen beasts.

  66. Loved it last night! Having Cas back was great, even if he was not his old self just yet. I liked how he spoke to Sam about when he took over for him in the hospital. I thought that maybe he would be stuck with seeing Lucifer all the time, but it seems that lasted a very short time after all. So, I guess this means that the Lucifer storyline is finally over and done with. I thought that maybe Bobby would make an appearance last night, too, but no such luck. Meg seems to be about the same as always and I am glad that she does not make an appearance too often.
Anyway, it seems like next week should be the season finale because it looks awesome and will probably leave us in great suspense for the following week. Cannot wait for that one!
The best news of the week is that we are getting the boys back for another great season and I am so glad to finally hear it!

    ReplyDelete
  67. I don't think there's a thing I didn't like about this episode. We had some great plot development despite the funny things. I even liked the Castiel/Meg stuff! As skeptical as I was at first, I actually liked the ready-made prophet. And oh my gosh, Castiel. I'm enjoying yet another side of Misha, but I don't know how I feel about this one being there to stay! He's entertaining, yes, but it's sad to see what he used to be reduced to this. He's like a five-year-old. I AM glad that Dean's not ready to forgive him yet, though. It wouldn't be true to his character, whether or not he considered Cas to be family. He's got a lot to make up for, but I think the things they went through tonight chipped at that wall a bit.

And FINALLY. I've been waiting for a good Sam/Castiel scene for like three years.

I think my favorite quote of the episode went to Cas.. he had a lot of great ones, but when girl Hester asked "What was that?!" and he said "Rude, for one thing...." I just about died. Also, to Sam: "You seem troubled... though that's a primary aspect of your personality, so I sometimes ignore it." You can always count on Cas to say what everyone else is thinking hahaha

    ReplyDelete
  68. No, I totally get it - it's like they finally wrote "Misha" into the show haha

    ReplyDelete
  69. I thought the same thing - even if I DO happen to be a Cas fan, I think this episode stayed true to form for the show, even if the brothers weren't absolutely in front the entire time. They ARE helping out those who need them, even if they do have their own stuff to work out. And Castiel is wayyyyyy up on their list of issues, so they were forced to confront that tonight. I loved his scene with Sam - as much as Cas and Dean were friends, Sam's the one he really needs to apologize to.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I enjoyed it too. :) I think I probably missed some hints and clues to solving the Leviathan problem so I need to watch it again.  Loved the 'Sorry' scene and the scene with Cas and Sam. And Meg, well we know you can't trust a demon.

I do have a question that is bothering me about the episode.  In season 4, Anna was the former leader of the garrison.  Cas and the other angels talked as if it was him for centuries.  Okay, then they tested Dean over Sam Hain, Uriel had to obey Cas at that time, but was Cas the leader of the garrison all that time?  If so, why did he say Anna was?

According to the whole Apocalypse story, Dean Winchester is the Righteous Man spoken of in the Bible. Remember? "When a righteous man shall shed blood in Hell....", which Dean did, which broke the first Seal and set the Apocalypse in motion. It'll be interesting to see if they manage to work that bit in--or if it'll simply be another loose end/canon alteration they don't bother with again.

    ReplyDelete
  75.  That combination usually puts the ep at the top of my favorites, the dialog was perfect, with a lot of fun one liners.

    ReplyDelete
  76.  Dean doesn't see himself that way, but that would be awesome if the writers do that for him. Then maybe just maybe Dean will open his eyes and realize he don't suck.

Dean been having low self esteem for a long time he needs to shake that.

    ReplyDelete
  77.  I love Misha any way they want him, he has been many different characters and I have enjoyed them all.  My 3 favorites are of course, Castiel, then Hippie Cas then Jimmy.  Please keep him around for season 8.

    ReplyDelete
  78. That was my first thought but I expected them to have to work to get the pieces.   But then Cas just handed his right over to him. Being Dean would make  the whole process a sham as we see Crowley "giving his" once they get the other pieces.

My money is on Crowley doing the double cross, not AlphaVamp.

    ReplyDelete
  79. You think maybe Crowley pulls the double cross and not Alpha?

    ReplyDelete
  80. Was she the leader before she lost her grace? It would make sense that once she lost it, someone else was promoted.

    ReplyDelete
  81.  I don't think I dreamed it, but can't remember where I saw it, that Sera was writing the finale.  I am so happy with this ep, the next 2 will have to be really something to replace it in my list. lol

    ReplyDelete
  82. Does anybody else feel the pieces to this puzzle are falling right into their laps?  It's starting to feel like the Horsemen rings.  Another episode, maybe two to find these would have been nice.

Kind of wondering HOW they find the identity of the righteous man.

    ReplyDelete
  83.  With you 100% on this.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I'm assuming Castiel, and heck, Cas could probably just heal the wound up right after. Though Dean's pretty badass. If he can escape from a bunch of Levis with a broken leg, he can probably take Dick on with a missing rib.

It just would be all Biblical and cool for him to give up a rib, doncha think?

    ReplyDelete
  85. Yeah and Anna was born again, as a baby human on earth, so Castiel was probably leader for a good couple of decades.

    ReplyDelete
  86. True, that is very possible, especially with Castiel showing up in the finale. We'll have to see.

    ReplyDelete
  87. So well put! It would be a perfect solution to the unresolved pain since the beginning of the show, and part of the plot, instead of some hollow speech that he wouldn't even believe.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Ha! I wish!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  89. Hmmm...that was a lot to digest. I was worried going in that they'd be trying to fit way too much in and it wouldn't work, but it was actually pretty good. Even had some great classic SPN lines thrown in, a few chuckles along the way. "Megatron...the transformer is Megatron."
I still don't like Rachel Miner's Meg...lacks the bite of the original.
And it was hard to get my mind around the "fractured" Cas, hard to make the same kind of emotional connection with him that we once did, but I've got to hand it to Misha, he really rocked this episode.
The character of Kevin was borderline annoying, but he ultimately pulled off the innocence and fear of a confused teeanger.
Looks like the whole process of bringing down the Leviathan is going to be as complex as they are, which is appropriate. We still have more questions than answers, but at least we now know what the hunk of clay was all about.
And with all hands on deck, it should be a great fight to the finish.
    I'd give this one a 9 out 10.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Thanks...was wondering what happened to the thread.

    ReplyDelete
  91. I loved the 'Sorry' scene too...that was really cleverly done.   And loved the scene with Sam and Cas, that's what we'd been missing.   Don't really care about the angels being back...frankly I really hope we move on from them.   But I'm glad to see Crowley still being a major player...he's been missed!

    ReplyDelete
  92. I thought about Dean too, since he was the righteous man who broke in hell and broke the first seal.  Could've been Dad too, had they not burned his bones.  It'll be interesting to see how that shakes out.

    ReplyDelete
  93. It's possible, but Crowley does hate Dick. And despite his demon ways, I think once you make an enemy of Crowley, there's no going back. And Crowley never does anything unless there's something in it for him. If the Levi's eat everyone, does he get the souls for Hell? Or would they claim them for Purgatory instead? If not, he's never going to bow down to the Levis, so it would be in his best interest to help eliminate them. The Alpha Vamp has absolutely no ties to the Winchesters, therefore no incentive to help them. And the Alpha Vamp and Levis are both technically from Purgatory (the Levis put there by God and the Alpha created by the Mother of All) so if either was going to form an alliance with the Levis, I would think it to be the Vamp. Of course, with SPN, you never know!

    ReplyDelete
  94. Again, I think there's the danger of being a little too lteral with the interpretation of the "Word of God".   The "bone of a righteous man" could have other interpretations.  Yes, I thought of Dean too and, oddly enough, of it being a rib, but I think we all may be thinking a little too straightforward.  We'll have to wait and see.

    ReplyDelete
  95. I wondered about that myself...I'm guessing it's like cutting the head off a snake...you stop Dick, you stop them all.

    ReplyDelete
  96. I wouldn't put anything past Crowley.  Despite what his henchmen said last night, I don't think he'd hesitate to screw the Winchesters.

    ReplyDelete
  97. I think the Leviathan are born of pure evil...having come from Purgatory where are the creatures supposedly go when they die.  So I'm presume they are just naturally toxic enough to wipe out angels with a touch.  Only thing that made sense there.

And they do have an angel blade...it's pretty effective, i's just that the guys have never actually posessed one for more than a brief time (i.e. when Dean killed Zachariah with it).

    ReplyDelete
  98. It was hard to get your brain around Cas in this episode, but from what he said in the scene with Sam, it seems as if once the Lucifer stuff went away his whole slate was wiped clean...as in his whole mind.  He almost seemed like he was on some kind of medication that was making him loopy..."I see everything" and his whole comment about watching the bees sure sounded like the ramblings of someone on drugs.  I don't think he was actually on something but I think whatever happened to his brain when he took on Sam's pain may have affected him the same way.  At least that's what I got out of it.

    ReplyDelete
  99. I had the same thought about Meg calling Azazel yellow eyes.  Odd, if he was supposed to be her father.

    ReplyDelete
  100. He did apologize to Sam, right before he took on Sam's Lucifer hallucinations.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Um...were you watching the same episode I was?   When Sam read the prophet Kevin's translation of the "Word of God" it clearly said the Leviathan couldn't be killed but could be stopped with several particular items.  I don't think anything about this solution is "convenient" or "easy"...especially considering that they now have to get blood from Crowley and the Alpha Vamp, and there's still the little matter of the bone of a righteous man.  And then there was the whole fact that the solution was written by God himself and could only be translated by the one prophet.  Where's the "convenience"?

    ReplyDelete
  102. Much as I love Mark Pelligrino...please God, no!   They need to bury the whole angel/apocaylpse arc for good.   And get rid of the Leviathan arc too.  Get back to something on a smaller scale.  If anyone is sticking around as the big bad, it should be Crowley.

    ReplyDelete
  103. You're right, but saying "I'm sorry" once isn't a magical fix for it happening in the first place. What I really meant is that he needs to make amends for Sam's sake, since he's the one that had to deal with the unfortunate consequences directly. That being said, Dean went through a lot of crap, too, and I think Castiel probably cares more about Dean's opinion of him than Sam's... but I'm glad Sam and Cas finally got to talk a bit last night.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Agreed on just about every point except the male angel.  He was a good character but I really don't want to see them bringing back the angels anymore.  That's done and needs to stay done.

I definitely agree on Crowley being the big bad next season...I would SO love that!   And I definitely wouldn't trust him or Meg...they're demons, you can never trust a demon as they always put their own interests first.

    ReplyDelete
  105. THANK YOU....couldn't make that out last night and didn't feel like going back in my recording and finding it.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Yes and no...it's taken them all season to even get a hint of how to stop the Leviathans and to do that much they had to have a prophet to access the word of God, so I don't think it was all that easy, but they are having to express the ending a little since they're running out of time in the season and that's frustrating.   But I'm ok with it...I just want the angels and Leviathans put to bed already!

    ReplyDelete
  107. I hear you, but what more would you have him do?   He apologized and he took away Sam's hallucinations and took them on himself.  If that's not making it up to Sam, I don't know what is.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Have to agree with you on everything. But I'm hoping the angels and archangels don't make a comeback. Well except maybe for Cas.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Wow, thank you for that. I couldn't read that fast.. A fallen angel, they got.. The ruler of fallen humanity... who would that be? The father of fallen beasts, I'm guessing is the Alpha Vamp... So father of fallen humanity has me stumped.

    ReplyDelete
  110. It was a great episode, and I loved everything about, but I couldn't give it an "awesome" because I felt it also showcased the show's age way too much.... but it was fantastic. I really really was.

    ReplyDelete
  111. I agree, I just think don't think it's too much for the boys (well, mainly Dean) to ask for a little time to get to forgiveness. Cas taking on Sam's hallucinations was great (and a little poetic), and he's apologized for the things he did... and Sam, true to his character, seems to have forgiven him already. Dean just needs some time to get past the fact that his (best?) friend broke his brother. I think the wheels are already in motion, but it's not going to happen right away.

    ReplyDelete
  112.  Demons are souls of fallen humans.  Their ruler would be Crowley.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Right.. Brain cramp on my part. :)

    ReplyDelete
  114. Oh I absolutely wouldn't expect it to happen right away with Dean...that would be totally out of character.  He's slower to come around than Sam.  But I was originally responding to you saying "Sam's the one he really needs to apologize to".  He's still got ground to cover with Dean but think as far as Sam himself is concerned, he's done everything he can.

    ReplyDelete
  115. I think he's done everything he can with Dean too.  He apologized in Meet the New Boss, he sort of apologized again and took on Sam's crazy in Borne Again Identity, and he apologized multiple times in this episode.  I call a three-apology limit on any issue on this show.  After that, everyone just has to move on.

    ReplyDelete
  116. I'm glad you said that.  The Dean/Cas conflict played out more like break up in a relationship, where there were two sides and some fault on each sides - Dean starts to take Cas for granted, Cas lies to Dean, Dean won't listen to Cas's side of the story and back him up when he begs him to, Cas lashes out by hurting Sam, Dean tries to kill Cas (through harnessing Death).  But Sam was an outside party in all of this who became the biggest victim.  I'm glad that wasn't just swept under the rug. I have no doubt that the Cas/Dean relationship will get the attention it deserves, but Sam and Cas need to get to know each other a little better too.

    ReplyDelete
  117.  How can you have Demons without Angels and I am all for that arc coming back.  Those were the best seasons for me.

    ReplyDelete
  118. I recall the line of dialogue as, "...can't be slain BUT by the bone of a righteous...". It definitely means that Levias can be killed. :)

Frankly I had imagined the way to rid off Leviathans other than the word 'Kill'. And the loophole for me is that Leviathans are pre-creation beings, and to kill them by 'after creation elements' is kind off 'convenience'.

The convenience was the afterthoughts of God, not the physical labours of our Boys. I love the Winchester Bros. involvement anytime.

Supernatural has not shown God. And hence we don't properly know the 'Will' of God. Once it does too, I may have different opinions but for now I'm not in favour. :)

I hope I've cleared the misunderstanding.

    ReplyDelete
  119. We had three whole seasons of demons before the angels ever came on the scene.  No reason they couldn't do that again.   I just think the angels have been done to death.   I'm tired of the apocalyptic scale overall story arcs, I'd like to see them scale back a bit to something slightly "smaller", a la seasons 1 and 2.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Great stuff.  Ben Edlund+Cas=Win!

Meg was fun. I think she is playing a double game thought. She is waiting to see how things turn and she could give Cas to Crowley to save herself.
Meg-Cas interaction were hilarious. Cas his torturing her with his kindness :-)
I didn't get the "seacrest" reference.

Cas is breaking my heart again...again.
He is not insane, he's in denial. For the moment, he just cannot cope with what he has done. So when things get difficult, his mind goes to a better place filled with kids jokes, rainbows and smiling  peaceful angels. I hope he will get better and prove Dean that angels can handle feelings.
Cas/phone is back. I ship  that pairing \o/

Dean crushing the tablet: you fierce badass, even God waving the thunder-stop sign doesn't scare you!
Loved the board game scene. Dean, I love you but sometimes you can be dense. In the "I'm sorry" game, Cas has made his move. It's you turn. Got it?
And don't listen to the angel lady; you didn't "corrupt" Cas. You made him a better angel/man/fallen angel/whatever Cas is now.
Dad Dean to bouncybabyename.com Cas " Cas don't make me pull this car over" lol!

Sam: you're awesome. Thank you for letting Cas know you've forgiven him.
Thank you for letting him know you're here for him if he needs help.

Kevin poor unwilling prophet. I didn't see the final twist coming. I guess he's toasted?

So, Angels are no match for Leviathans. And It seems Heaven has run out of archangels.
The boys need the blood from a fallen angel, a demon, and a alpha. The righteous mortal is Dean, right?

    "Well, you know me."
"I'm always happy to bleed for the Winchesters."

remember supernatural have a new show runner that also was writer on the series being human (u.s) version with his wife now she is alone running the show ,the dinamic of the show change, meg & castiel had something  cooking in there side (romanticly little kinki may be) crowley, castiel and the vampire had united to fulfill that prophesy the most important piece the bones of the very honor man, remember the scene when alaistair told dean he broke the first seal,is dean bones o another character  will emerge & michael and lucifer are in the cage ,crowley will free them .season 8 open new posibilities of storylines creativity or pure disaster we had to cross our fingers and wait for first  episode of season 8.

  122.  So 7 seasons of Demons is OK, but you are tired of 4 seasons of Angel??  Give me Cas anytime over Crowley, I love my tree topper.

  123.  Great episode.

I was EXTREMELY skeptical about this episode because of the involvement of angels but I was very pleasantly surprised.  This was a thoroughly enjoyable SPN episode from beginning to end and was easily in the top three for this current season.

     - Dean had a lot of great wordplay in this episode and Kevin almost needed a translator at times to understand him.
     - I think something happened with Meg at the truck stop.  She disappeared for a while and when she came back she was acting weird.  Then, when Cas met up with everyone on the road, he asked Meg if she was hurt and she told him to "shut up."
     - Cas holding up "Sorry!" during his conversation with Dean was absolutely hilarious.
     - The Sam / Cas conversation was well worth it too.
     - Meg showed some stones sticking around after the angels showed up.
     - It's both adorable and really wrong how Cas always seems to smile when he looks at Meg now.
     - I'm glad they kept Dean's anger and frustration in tact and that he didn't let Cas off the hook just because the new Cas is more like Walter Bishop without the bursts of anger or the science background.
     - By the way, how the hell did the Leviathans find out about the prophet?
     - There's something really great about putting Sam, Dean, Cas, & Meg together and I hope they do more episodes like this.

    ReplyDelete
  124.  Seacrest refers to Ryan Seacrest, the host of American Idol.  I'm not really sure what was meant of the reference here, but people make fun of Seacrest a lot, so maybe Meg was just calling Dean an idiot.

I love that Sam was there for Cas, but I also love that Sam was allowed a little snark too when it came to Cas.  What was the line around the angel proofing? Something like Cas saying if it's too good it will expel him too, and Sam replying that that works for him.  Sam understands what it's like to be in a place of doing the wrong thing with good intentions and he sincerely wants to help Cas, but he's not 100% a fan of Cas yet, especially when Cas decides he's not going to fight any more.  There have been times this season that I thought Sam was too close to being canonized, so I like it when a little sarcasm slips through.

  126. I think the Meg/truckstop thing was just the five-minute mystery around whether Meg had betrayed them to Crowley's demons.  It came out later that she had told the demons to meet her later when they were at the truckstop.

    ReplyDelete
  127. I rewatched the episode, and it's even better on a second watch.  It was great on a first watch (with the exception of horrible video quality from my local CW affiliate), but I caught more of the one-liners in the second watch (was laughing through the whole thing), and was able to make more sense of everything.  I'm still not loving where Cas was in this episode, but I'm hoping this is a temporary state.

    ReplyDelete
  128.  Yeah, you're right.  I was probably overthinking it.  It doesn't explain the "are you hurt" comment though.

    ReplyDelete
  129.  I think that was just the humor of Cas being so protective over Meg.

    ReplyDelete
  130.  That could be.  I think it was the first time he saw her since the angel threw her into the wall at the hospital so that would make sense.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Cas holding the sorry box was so cute and sad. I just want to hug him!

The dialog was so brilliant, I could quote the complete episode.

    A rewatch is mandatory :-)

Dean: "Sam, will you please pick up the word of God?"

    ReplyDelete
  132.  Dean seems the obvious choice

    ReplyDelete
  133.  Meg calling Dean an idiot seems right ;-) Thanks.

Yes Sam can definitively relate to Cas about that.
Not sure Sam was sarcastic. He said: "As long as we're invisible to your garrison buddies, it works for me."

I think the writers pushed Sam forgiving nature front to contrast with
Dean inner anger, but you're right. It would be good from time to time
to see Sam angry, sarcastic or snarky like any human being.

    Cas
chose a bad moment to go all "peace and flower" but as he is not able
to face the consequences of his actions yet, it made sense that he
decided to simply not act anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  134. I have no problem with Cas himself, love the character.  I didn't like him as the go to easy solution when the guys couldn't figure out how to fix or stop something though.   And I really disliked the larger angel picture, with all the archangels and angel in fighting.  For me it just got to be tedious and overdone, and yes, fairly quickly at that.
As for the demons...there has to be an element of evil for the boys to fight, that's expected.  And like it or not, the demons have been the most effective agents of that evil, from Azazel on up to Lucifer himself (yes, I know, technically an angel, not a demon).  So yes, I've preferred their involvement over the years and I'd much rather see the boys going up against an evil they can comprehend and fight rather than one that is so far beyond their capabilities.  That just slows down and over complicates the storyline.   And again, I'm sorry, but Crowley is just so much damn fun...you love to hate him!  He would rock as the next big bad the guys have to face.

    ReplyDelete
  135. I thought there was more to the end of that line qualifiying the but, but yes I suppose it was indicating they could be killed, or at least stopped.
That said, I still don't see the "convenience" in this.  The "afterhought of God"?!  Where are you getting that?  Yes, God dictated to Metatron a way to stop the Leviathan...and then left it in a form that no-one could actually read except the prophet Kevin.  Hardly convenient.  A pretty good security measure, if you ask me.  And even once they did translate, they've now still got to collect all the necessary pieces of the puzzle...yes, getting the blood from Cas was pretty convenient but I doubt it'll be that easy with Crowley and the Alpha Vamp, and we haven't even touched on the "bone of a righteous mortal".   And IF they do get them all together, they still have to figure out how to actually use them.  It's not like God just handed them a sword and said have at it.

I think the ultimate solution  is properly complicated enough, so I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on that.

    ReplyDelete
  136. except when surely after Dean broke the seal he was no longer righteous, how can someone who tortured souls in hell still be considered righteous? That would be wrong for the writers to go there.

    ReplyDelete
  137. nellymendezcolon6 May 2012 at 00:57

yes  continues because he goes to hell for try to save sam  life ,didnt go to hell for something bad and he confront sam in the swan song episode he began the apocaliptic chain reaction & ended because no matter how painfull o desperate the situation is dean always find the way and  fight thats is a righteous man do against any adversity

    ReplyDelete
  138. I'm sure Cas is still very and truly sorry.
Taking Sam mental injuries, has somehow fractured his own mind.
He is sort of dissociated from his previous self. No fight, no responsability. I think he is more in denial than really insane.

I guess his actual mental state will not last long,I don't see how he could fit in the final episode otherwise.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Same here.
The Bad ass but socially awkward  full angel is absolutely my favorite but I'll take everything the writers have to offer :-)
I feel lucky every time Misha is on screen especially when I remember that his character was only intended to last a few episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  140.  Cas/meg is funny as hell ... heaven ... well you know ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  141. This is by no means intended to suggest anything negative about Dean's character, but I'm hoping they don't go with Dean as the righteous man.  This is because I don't like the idea that Dean is the obvious choice by his birthright - that he is always judged righteous no matter what he says or does.  Sam, in contrast, is always marked as self-righteous by his birthright, regardless of what he does to redeem himself.

Dean is a good person, but he's not without sin or guilt. And I prefer it that way.  I like that both Sam and Dean are flawed. I hope they dig up some saint's bone instead. Besides, it would be less painful for Dean and put him a better position to fight in the finale.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Dean is a good person and his actions are understandable, but he went to Hell because he made a deal with an agent of the devil because he couldn't accept the death of a loved one - something we all have to accept sooner or later.  Making a deal with a demon is bad, and Dean knew it.

    ReplyDelete
  143. I suppose demons don't put family in high value

    ReplyDelete
  144. There were so many good lines in this ep, but still the one that I can't help but laugh over every time I think of it is the cat has a barbed penis and he is sure the females were not consulted.  I went to bed last night still laughing.  Have watched it 2 more times today and it just keeps getting better.

    ReplyDelete
  145.  I have not seen anything that Mark Shepperd has been that I have not liked, and would love for him to stick around, but if I had to pick it would always be Misha in what ever character he was playing on SPN.

    ReplyDelete
  146. I love Cas, but what I took away from the episode is that both Sam and Dean are having mixed feelings about Cas.  The thorazine quote was another example of Sam snark, as you pointed out.  Another scene was in the car, when Dean asks Cas if he will back them up with the angels, Cas says he doesn't fight anymore, and Sam and Dean exchange looks.  Sam looked as irritated as Dean.  I don't blame them.  As I said, I love Cas, but it must have been extremely trying for them in this episode.  I like that Ben seemed to be writing Sam as being layered enough to have mixed emotions, rather than as a candidate for sainthood.

  147.  Just love clueless Castiel, he is so much fun and the writers have been great for his character.

  148.  I wouldn't like Crowley as the main big bad just because he would most probably be killed by the end of the season.
I prefer him as the lurking demon who mischief from time to time.

  151. O yes, I agree that the bros are not ok with Cas yet. Dean especially is a big ball of anger

They have good reason to be irritated by Cas refusal to fight. They need allies and they think Cas could make a difference.

They should know that Cas will always have their back. Especially Dean who saw future Cas.
As Cas sarcastically said: "always happy to bleed for the Winchesters"

  152.  The tone and the face of Cas when he said "I know for a fact that females were not consulted" ROTF!

And the bit on the phone "I'm surrounded by unhappy dogs"
You just have to imagine Cas popping in the middle of a dog track ...
and later: "You know, those racing dogs were absolutely miserable. They can only think in ovals."
    XD

It's good to be a Cas fan. The wait can be long but the reward is so sweet ;-)

  154. The female angel didn't help Dean self esteem by saying that the moment Castiel laid a hand on him in hell, he was lost

  157. I just think it is dean being heartless again cas does not have to apology to dean for anything its not dean's head cas broke it was sam's OK! Sam should have been more mad a cas then dean but hell thats not sam he has a heart and to forgivie cas so easy to me thats just awesome.

  158.  I keep going back to something Meg said on another ep about the little tree topper..I think that is perfect for Cas.  Yes it is good being a Cas fan, this ep was pure gold for me.

    ReplyDelete
  159. No reason why he'd have to be killed.  He's proven hard to stop before.  Unless...God forbid...Season 8 is the last season of the show, they don't have to kill off the big bad by the end of it.   He could continue to lurk. :D

    ReplyDelete
  160. It's probably because of the way Dean is acting towards Cas, maybe?

    ReplyDelete
  161. And just out of curiosity, why would a demon be able to use an angel sword?  I just think it would make sense if they couldn't.

  162. my CW was messing it up I was getting pissed off I tape the show and it was getting fuzzy and then it stop and started up again and it was making me mad I said to myself in 4 months I will get the bluray it will sound better the sound on my CW sucks ass and look better.

  163. Usually the bros kill the big bad but if Crowley is the exception to the rule, I'm all for Crowley as the main baddie.
     :-)
not to mention that he also have some unresolved issues with Cas.

  167. I haven't been following SPN as I used to so forgive me if I've got it mixed up: if the word of God specifies how to kill Leviathan, why did Dick Roman dig it up? Nobody knew about it, nobody was going to find it, all they had to do was leave it alone?

well i dont think they will bury the angel thing cause misha is back in season 8 so......i also like the
Leviathan's well dick anyways good bady but i think they should wrap that up this season .I do like
Crowley but he's not that bad or scary should i say .I think they should finish it with Eric's dream the
apocaylpse cause in season 5 "the end" "
Dean: You better kill me now!

    Lucifer: (stops, turning back) Pardon?
Dean: You better kill me now! Or I swear, I will find a way to kill you! And I won't stop!
Lucifer: (quietly) I know you won't. I know you won't say yes to Michael either. And I know you won't kill Sam. Whatever you do, you will always end up... here. No matter what choices you make, whatever details you alter, we will always end up... here.
(a single tear drops from Dean:'s eye)
Lucifer: I win. So I win.
    Dean: You're wrong.
Lucifer: See you in five years, Dean.

  169. I agree with Deangirl. I think they just need to kill Dick and the rest falls. He seems to be the focus, so I can't see them going all around the country poking Leviathons. How would they know who they were? So yeah, Get Dick, get them all. :)

    ReplyDelete
  170. Ok. I'll look for that.  Hopefully they'll have some new info for me. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  171. People make the mistake of equating the entire angel arc with Castiel.  Doesn't have to be that way.  There's no reason why you can't have Castiel around without there having to be an apocalyptic/civil war in  heaven type arc on a grandiouse scale.  That's been done, and was fittingly ended by Eric Kripke in Season 5...to paraphrase Dean, "what's done should stay done".

The Leviathans have been boring as bad guys and even though Dick himself has been somewhat creepy, he doesn't do enough to salvage that whole storyline so I really hope it ends too.
The demons have been the most effective bad guys by far and Crowley is just the latest in a long line of perfectly drawn demons.  Just because he makes us laugh, that doesn't mean he's not scary.  Actually, similar to Lucifer, it's BECAUSE he makes us laugh that he's so scary...he catches us off guard, then reminds us he's really the baddie.

Again, I love Michael Pelligrino and I actually loved the ultimate face-off with Lucifer but it's been done...can't be improved and bringing it back now would just look like a rehashing of old material so I think they need to move on.  And as I said before, I'm hoping they'll go back to something more small scale...the monster of the week/urban legend type feel they had in the first couple of seasons.  But that's just me.

    ReplyDelete
  172.  The only really scary Demon they have had was Christopher Heyerdahl as Alastair, he was soooo bad.  Still gives me goose bumps.

    ReplyDelete
  173. In the photos of the finale TV Guide released, Dean was holding what looked like a knife made out of bone. So I'm guessing it's got to be a pretty big one.

    ReplyDelete
  174. Could just be that it would be way too obvious.  But I realized last night that exact wording is the "bone of a righteous MORTAL", not man.  So it could be a woman too.

    ReplyDelete
  175. Uh...heartless?  Hardly.  Dean thought of/treated Cas like a brother and Cas betrayed him.  To Dean that's the biggest offense of all.  Then add on top of that Cas hurt his brother...another huge offense in the Dean Winchester rulebook.  He's got plenty of reason to be pissed and Cas has plenty of reason to apologize.

    ReplyDelete
  176. Now see I think they all had their scary aspects.  Yellow Eyes, Meg, Alastair, even the Crossroads Demon...and yeah, Crowley.  Just because they can also be snarky doesn't mean they aren't scary.

    ReplyDelete
  177. Yeah, that line was kind of overshadowed but I thought it was another low blow Dean didn't need!

    ReplyDelete
  178. I agree that it's better to have both Sam and Dean flawed.  That's appropriate, anyway, because they're both human...they can't be perffect.   That being said, I disagree that Sam is marked as self-righteous.  I don't see that at all.  Sam is arguably the last person to put himself first.  He may be marked as evil, or partically evil, by virtue of being tainted with Azazel's blood, but not self-righteous.

As for the bone...as I  mentioned in another post the line actually says the bone of a righteous mortal, not man, so it could be almost anyone, including a woman.

    ReplyDelete
  179. It took the boys two seasons to finally kill Azazel, so there's precedent for a big bad lasting through more than one season.

    ReplyDelete
  180. Uh, I'm not exactly following you here but Crowley's not going to free Lucifer any time soon.  He does that he loses his kingdom.  He wants Hell all too himself.  So I don't see that happening...and wouldn't want it to. That storyline is done.

    ReplyDelete
  181. I wondered about that myself, but knowing Dick I'm thinking he probably wanted to get his hands on it so he could destroy it so there wouldn't be any chance of anyone finding it.

    ReplyDelete
  182. Why not?  Dean used it and he's human.  So there's precedent for other types of beings using it.  Nobody ever said only angels could use it.

    ReplyDelete
  183.  I should have added...for me, because the only Demon they have had that TO ME was even remotely scary was Alastair.

    ReplyDelete
  184. Dean called Sam self-righteous is season 5, and it fit with whole "Sam is like Lucifer" theme. I don't think Sam acts self-righteous. I think this is mute point anyway because I don't see the show being cruel enough to pull a large bone out of Dean.  Someone else pointed out that there's a promo picture with a knife carved out of bone, so I see them getting it from someone already dead.  That's my guess anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  185. I found it hysterical that when Dean banished the angels Cas ended up at a dog racing track in Perth.  With angry dogs. Because it's a fake rabbit.

  192. I am in a serious minority.  I would be really happy to never see Crowley again.

I agree with you that it would be nice to see the show work on a smaller scale.  The problem with the big bad is that they have to be really really difficult.  And going bigger at this point will be difficult to do without heading into the ridiculous.

Maybe if they ventured into cases that were difficult to take 2 or 3 episodes to solve.

Disqus generic email templateok sam forgives but he also gives castiel a new light, the angels don’t recognice the right or wrong ,they follow orders, when castiel absorbes all the mess inside sam head ,he at knowledge the definition of the pain & how we search for reason to find o resolve problems that’s why sam & john always fight and dean is piss because castiel is in a neutral position and dean don’t have anybody to backup him blindly when he thinks his solution of a problem is awesome that’s why create all the mess that bobby always cleans up if not the situation that our friend is talking about I am lost.

    ReplyDelete
  196. Who said Sam didn't have reason to be pissed?  Of course he does.  But it's in his nature to be more forgiving.  He's learned to let go of the baggage, as he explained to Dean earlier in the season in the guilt episode.  Dean is a lot slower to forgive and let go and that's what's being portrayed.  He's not being a baby he's being human about it.  Just because Sam is obviously your favorite doesn't make Dean wrong here.

    ReplyDelete
  197. I hear you.  I love Crowley and so if they have to have a big bad, I'd prefer it be him...or just the demons in general.  But to be perfectly honest, I'd rather they not have a big bad at all.  Just go back to the monster of the week/urban legend type stuff and have Sam and Dean fighting evil on a more personal scale.  As Dean said at the beginning of the season, how many times do they have to stop the bus from going over the cliff?  Once was epic, but the more times you have Sam and Dean saving the entire world, the more ridiculous it gets.  So I'm definitely agreed with you on not going bigger.  They need to scale down.

    ReplyDelete
  198. Thought it was incredibly stupid of the brothers to take a demon to their safe house.  Who really knowd what Meg's true agenda may be.  At any rate she has done more than enough to harm the Winchesters and Co that I feel she has earned herself a Ruby Knife straight to the heart.  I am more than ready to let her character go.  I don't feel she adds anything at all to the storyline.  Kill her off already!!

I was surprised that a Levi could so easily kill an angel.  All the angel could do was stand there, stare, and wait it's turn?  Come on...even the Winchesters can fight against the Levi...you'd think the angels, warriors of heaven, would stand a better chance than a human, even if it's a Winchester.

Loved the prophet.  Felt his reactions were pretty realistic for a naive boy whose whole life revolved around a strict schedule.

Loved Dean and Cas playing sorry.  Made me feel our lives are just one big game that is being played and we are just pawns on the board.  In the big picture do the pawns really matter?  Does the game really matter?  Love when Dean just tossed the game on the floor...that's out Dean.  Throwing the game out and playing by his rules.  It's so cute how upset he gets when others won't play HIS game!!!  It was nice of Dean to play Cas' game with him for a little while.

So it sounds like Cas just wants to go back to the angel who observes...watches the bees.  Let's see if Dean allows that to happen!!!!
