    Without the doubt the BEST season finale of the year. 

    Well just as expected, Emma's build up needed a push. Which henry happened to be. Then everything she experienced fell into place and she stopped denying the facts to herself and started to slowly believe that she can do this. Because she had no choice. It was nice to see Emma and Regina working together. I guess now, since Gold is sort of taking over as main villain, Regina and Emma will be in sort of frenemies territory with both of them being against each other but teaming up from time to time when their interests match BELLE. BELLE. BELLE. YESSSYou awesome Mr.Gold. EVERYTHING. EVERYTHING. Played EXACTLY how he planned. all these years ago. He banked on EXACTLY THIS TURN OF EVENTS. EXACTLY THIS SITUATION. EXACTLY THIS OUTCOME.  And the ending...HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSE DOT WAIT ENTIRE SUMMER NOW?

    wow!

    emma's kiss of true love saved Henry and broke the curse.

    Snow and Charming can now remember.This means next season they will know Emma Is their daughter
    and Henry their grandson.

    Rumpy knows Belle Is alive and Regina lied to him.

    Rumpy Is bringing magic to storybroke.Unfortuntly this means Regina will get her magic back.

    Next season can't come fast enough.I wonder If we will have to wait till october.

    Despite what certain fans of his were saying, I'm glad they showed that Rumpelstiltskin doesn't have a heart of gold. (Pun intended) He is still all about power and his own interests. He is the mastermind behind everything.

    I felt pretty bad for Regina, even if she had this all coming. She definitely likes that magic is coming back.Snow and Charming were meh, but that scene with Charming and Rumpelstiltskin was perfect. Rumple forcibly coerced Charming into making that deal.

    BEST season finale i have i ever seen in a while. Definitely a game changing one.  Cant wait to see how Emma will react to being in Fairy-tale land. maybe Fairy-tale land has now been modernized.

     He knew about the beef between Regina and Maleficent. He knew she would bring Maleficent over in dragon form. I can't help wondering, though, did Mal never transform back into a human between the time she met the prince and the time the curse was enacted? Was she afraid to because of the egg? I'm a little confused about that. Plot hole? Ah well, still an amazing finale, and now we know why he wanted Emma to believe: he wanted the potion back and he knew Emma would have to get it. That man is an absolute genius.

    I felt so bad for Regina when she started crying into henry's bed pillow when the curse was broken, that was to me the most emotional part of that grouping of scenes where everybody was realizing who they really were and kissing their loved ones. Now both of the people she loves is gone from her life but I hope with the coming of magic back into Storybrooke, which she was happy about, that Regina will be able to at least take the heart of the Mad Hatter, who poisoned Henry, and do something to Mr. Gold, who I despise. Can't wait for the next season, it's going to be so good, I can already imagine it.

    Pretty good finale, very very predictable though, at least until the end with what Rumple was doing.  Glad Belle found him and remembers, although it did seem like a really easy solution to break the curse, I expected just Henry to wake up and Emma to accept everything not everyone remembers.

    Everytime it cut from Belle I literally said aloud "I don't care!  I want to see Belle and Rumple!"  Curious how things will go down now that magic is in this land.

     They never specified that. I remember something now, though. Maleficent was human when we saw her in episode 2, and this was after her encounter with Charming. I was thinking she stayed in dragon form after her encounter with Charming but I guess not. So what happened to the egg? Did it shrink when she did? lol. Just seems odd.

     Well, the Mad Hatter didn't poison Henry, Regina did. But I agree with you about that scene, very tragic. I don't sympathize with her about losing Henry, though, no matter how much I love her, because she really did bring that on herself. What I love about Regina, and why my heart aches for her, is because she just can't LET GO. She's so twisted up by hate that all she can do is lash out. She has to forgive to heal, but she can't do that, and after seeing how innocent she was in 'The Stable Boy' it just makes me feel even worse. I don't feel bad for the things she did to herself, but I do feel bad that she became what she did. She just wasn't strong enough to overcome the tragedies in her life, to cope with them, and that's tragic. I love her because even when she's does despicable things I still want to give her a hug :(

    I loved the parallel editing that showed Emma and her father fighting off Maleficent... and Mary Margaret reading to Henry about Snow and Charming? So sweet... I loved seeing everything come full circle in that respect - the season opened with Snow and Charming as he woke her up, and it ended the same way.

    I can't believe they actually broke the curse in full! I figured Emma would believe, as she did, but I didn't think they'd bring back everyone's memories yet.There were lots of tears at the end for sure - when that curse broke, my eyes watered like nobody's business haha.. and when Gold saw Belle for the first time? That had me reaching for the tissues. Then he had to go and get all power trippy bringing the magic back... I suppose they had to set up the next round of problems for season 2!

And how weird is it going to be for Snow and Charming to see their daughter all grown up?  And I'm pretty excited for the return of the magic just because it's going to bring some amazing stuff with Regina and Gold.

    I feel the same way about Rumpelstiltskin - I enjoyed seeing the part of him that was capable of love, but when it comes down to it, I think he's always going to choose power. It'll be interesting to see how Belle copes with that.

    You have to admit, don't you, that most of the episode was pretty predictable and played by-the-book?  I agree that the ending was good, but I think they wrapped up the initial portion of the show a bit too quickly.  The events and plot points that transpired in this one episode might have been spread over several episodes, or perhaps even over the course of a season. 

    Emma's discovery seemed far too rushed and contrived.  What, she just sees the book, and in her trauma over Henry's condition she just suddenly believes?  And even, if she does believe, will Regina just instantly admit the truth?  I can understand that Regina is desperate to save Henry, but even so during the course of Henry's coma she was still being manipulative, like how she dealt with Jefferson.  So wouldn't you expect her to somehow manipulate Emma into doing what's required to save Henry, without actually admitting that the whole fairytale thing is true?  And what, Mr. Gold will choose just that moment to similarly fess up to Emma about the whole fairytale thing?  And I know they set up earlier the thing about Emma being unable to see August's Pinocchio ailment until she believes, but still it was kind of disappointing that she gets immediate confirmation that the magic is real right after she gets the new-found faith in the fairytale thing.  

    What might have been a far more effective thing to do would be for Emma to start believing, but then everyone thinking she's crazy because of it.  Imagine Regina saying "Ms. Swan, I know that you're clearly in an agitated state, because your son almost died today.  But seriously, think about what you're saying.  I'm an evil queen and these are storybook characters?"  And then she could tell Dr. Hopper, "Emma's clearly insane, and in no position to take care of my son."  And Hopper would probably agree, and Regina might follow through on her threat (earlier this season) of a restraining order, and Emma might even lose her sheriff position because people think she has become a crazy woman who believes in fairytales.  And then Emma could try going on a quest to make people see the light and wake up from the curse, while every now and then questioning whether her belief in fairytales is really correct.  So season two could start in the same place as season 1, where Emma is like a stranger in the town, now ostracized by almost everyone, and she needs to get a foothold.  And then over the course of season 2, she may succeed in waking a few people up, perhaps Mary Margaret and David first.  Then finally, you could have the season 2 finale have the ending we just saw in the season 1 finale: the curse being lifted by Emma, and Mr. Gold bringing back magic to the town.  And then you'd finally be in the same place you are now, waiting for the next phase of the show (which I'm super-excited about, by the way, because I want to see how magic is going to affect things; you saw Regina's smile when she saw the pink smoke, because she now knows the townspeople can't do anything to her even though they know the truth.  I wouldn't be surprised if Regina is rounded up by the townspeople, like in her dream, and then when they're about to kill her she reveals her newfound magical powers and strikes back at them.)

    Does anyone like my proposed version of events?  I have a feeling that the reason why Eddie and Adam are moving on so fast beyond the initial phase of the show is that they feel the show won't have that long a life, so they want to tell their story as quickly as possible.  it's the opposite problem that Lost had, where Damon and Carlton intentionally put our heroes in cages in Season 3, to hold off the leaving-and-coming-back-to-the-island part of the show until they secured an end date for the series, so that they knew how long to stretch things out for.  (And then season 6 got a slower pace than planned, because they got a few more show hours at the back end as a result of the whole writer's strike fiasco.)

    I know Regina put him in the "sleeping death" with the apple on accident but, please correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the Mad Hatter in order to get back at Regina, poisoned Henry with the same stuff that was in the cup that he gave the nurse when he went to retrieve Belle. I do agree with you somewhat that Regina did bring some of her pain onto herself like killing her father to enact the curse.

    Actually remember what Mary said in reading the story about Snow and Charming? The true love kiss sent a wave of goodness across the land. So if it happened that way there, It would be the same here. The wave of goodness broke the curse.

    I like your proposed version of events. It would have been nice and more poetic perhaps, but not as shocking as the current version, which is bound to captivate viewers in a more intense way. Since tv shows are all about ratings nowadays, the more intense way tends to win.

    What I want to know (and to be fair it's a minor point in the grand scheme of the epic that was this season finale) will this influx of magic in Storybrook return August to human form?  He's become a favorite character of mine and is the only reason I've begun to forgive the show runners for killing off Graham so early on into the show.

    Amazing ep. Nice that it could've been written to be a series finale if it came to that, but am very curious and excited to see how this "Storybrooke with magic" will be next season and I'm sure that the writers are just going crazy with all the possibilities: Regina knows that she will be able to wield some serioius power again as will Gold, but what if any power will Emma have?.... I can't wait to see where this goes and it will be a challenge for those writers, but they put together a wonderful and creative S1, so I for one and very hopeful in what they will create for us in S2... Loved seeing the Huntsman again and loved that the ep closed with the clock again tolling 8:15......

    That was a spot on analysis of Regina IMO, very well perceived.  And it sure takes a hell of an actress to make a character be this nuanced.

     No, Regina baked the cursed apple into an apple turnover, which she gave to Emma, intending to poison her. When Henry saw the turnover he knew what it was and told Emma not to eat it. She didn't believe it was poison, so he took a bite to prove it to her, and that made him collapse. Mad Hatter wasn't involved. But yes, it was an accident on Regina's part: she meant to poison Emma, not Henry.

    Yes, but I fear that in pursuit of the shock of a season-ender, they may have lost the opportunity to spend an extra season and make Emma really earn her journey to acceptance.  And besides, I think with something like my proposed version of evens, you could still make a shocking cliff-hanger ending.  For instance, you could have still had Mr. Gold bringing back the magic to the town in the season 1 finale, but then not have the curse broken and and thus the townspeople realizing who they are until the season 2 finale.  This way Emma would have some work to try to find the magic in the town, and take advantage of it to prove to the residents that the fairytale thing is real.  We could have a season-long attempt of Emma in particular trying to persuade Mary Margaret of the truth, that she is her mother and that they need to stop the evil queen.  Then in the season 2 finale Emma can finally display some magical phenomenon, either to just Mary Margaret or to the whole town.  And then once Emma breaks the course somehow, and the people remember everything, they tie up Regina, who magically breaks the rope and then we're off to season 3!

    So true. I just wish ALL the characters could have this depth. Gold is the only other character I really feel for. He seems to have more heart left in him for Regina, but his lust for power is actually stronger than Regina's and that's really saying something. Emma is getting a little more complex, but she definitely still needs work.

     I'm still confused what it was that broke the curse for Graham, and why THAT didn't break the curse for everyone (didn't even get Emma to believe). Ginnifer Goodwin said it would all make sense in the finale, but I'm still confused :(

    This is pretty much what I was hoping for, or at least a taste of it. I was really hoping Regina would deny it for at least a minute, and finally break down when Emma screams at her that Henry is dying. I wanted more RESISTANCE from Regina, and I wanted Emma to at least struggle a little with the truth. Even if she believes, she didn't have to be quite so accepting of it so fast. I don't know about dragging that out over a season - I think Cathy is right, and viewers would get frustrated (this is really more the kind of thing you would see in a novel, not a tv show), but I was really hoping for a little taste of it in the finale. Still, I'm willing to give this show the benefit of the doubt and say that it's only the first season, and there were some issues with pacing early on that probably forced the writers to rush things a little here. All in all, I'm satisfied with the finale.

    Eddie and Adam explained that in a panel discussion a while back.  The reason that the curse was broken for Graham is that Emma is the savior, so through contact with her you can get freed of the curse, but Mary Margaret and David are not the savior, so them kissing each other doesn't do anything.  (It's a somewhat lame explanation, but that's what they said.)

    As far as why Emma's kissing Graham didn't break the curse for everyone, I think it's because it had to be true love's kiss, and that was probably not true love.

    Fantastic ending! I am so anxious to see what happens next season with everyone remembering and the magic coming back. Basically, it'll turn Storybrooke into a modern Fairytale land.

    I loved seeing everyone remember (especially Snow and Charming) and can't wait for them to see Emma and Henry now that they remember who they are and Emma believes. Also happy because Jefferson will be able to be with his daughter now that she remembers.

    I loved Emma this episode fighting the dragon and how in was going back and forth between her and Charming fighting Maleficent for opposite reasons. Like father, like daughter, using the same sword. :D

    Jefferson, I love him for releasing Belle. It was for his purposes but I was so happy to know that Regina was going to be in deep hell for lying and locking Belle up all this time.

    Speaking of, Rumple voicing his love for Belle was awesome, but he is still so very far away from being good, which I hope he eventually can become for Belle's sake. He loves some people, but his obssession with power is going to be a major issue. I'll be curious how Belle reacts. I expect a lot of arguements (especially since by bringing magic back he'll get his, and they'll be back to the same issues they had in their episode earlier in the season).

    Plus, I see his need for power having caused a mistake in that Regina will get her powers too. I'm sure he knows this, but wouldn't it have been easier to fight her human when the majority of Storybrooke is going to hate her?

    FYI, I felt bad for Regina. she does really love Henry, I know this. I still think it's a love though, that doesn't always have Henry's best interests in mind.

    The betrayal Regina has felt has consumed her as deeply as Rumple's power has consumed him and both really need to learn that they're going to lose out if they keep letting it consume them. I mean, Regina has already lost Henry, and Rumple Balefire, but it can get worst. Hopefully, they eventually learn their lessons before it's too late for them to change. I've kinda gotten attached to them, in that I hope they can be saved from themselves.

    Also, now I know exactly what the writers meant about the Charming/Snow story changing dynamic. The first season was about them falling in love and finding each other. Next season will be about them fighting together to get the castle, and take control of the kingdom.

    Have you seen "Legend of the Seeker", specifically the 2nd season? I cannot help but view Regina as an emotional copy of Cara Mason. I see her as a Mord-Sith, a "broken" person, who's been more or less "brainwashed" through torture. Let me explain - I believe her mother took away all her love & hope and tried to destroy everything she was, through magic, violence, manipulation and murder. All to get her to be an obedient puppet. It's about more than overcoming the tragedies in her life. Regina had no one to protect her and teach her how to let go, no good role model. She was left helpless under her mother's destructive influence for a long time, so she eventually gave into her mother's training.
    The way I see it, she needs to find a true love, to let someone in, who can then "mend her" and help her find happiness. I desperately want to see that.
    Unfortunately, it seems from the finale that they've decided to use her as the show's punching bag. I'd hate to see her become Morgana Pendragon ("Merlin") but the finale seemed to suggest just that.
    Definitely my least favourite episode of the season for that reason alone.
    While I hated the plot, I must admit the acting was stellar from all of the actors. Especially Lana, of course. ♥

    Do you mean ABC is responsible through their promos or their sneak peeks?  I didn't watch any of the sneak peeks and the promo only once.  I'm talking about within the show it was very obvious that Emma's kiss would be the thing to save Henry.  Or Mr. Gold suddenly appearing, that was obvious he had something more planned for it.  I felt the writing of the show thus far made it very predictable.  That's not to say it wasn't entertaining, I did enjoy it, it just was very predictable.

    When I first saw that Rumple was going to be the Beast, I was upset too because it is also my fav fairytale, but I've grown to like Rumple with Belle. That will hopefully stay that way. I will be upset though if he never chooses her over power. Can't truely be together until then, from what I undrstand, and I want them together.

I cool with that if OUaT continues to do such a great job with their show next season. I'm not even asking for better. Better would be a bonus.      Emma & Charming's fight scenes, the way the show edited it to show both, was really good visual story-telling imo. Emma was so awesome in the finale, it somewhat redeemed her failures this season for me.

    There were really a lot of emotional scenes packed in this episode. And really, with so many game-changing things happening to fundamentally shake the show, I think it definitely is the best season finale I've seen in a long time. I liked how there were things happening in an individual/relationship level, as well as to all the Storybrooke characters at once. That's the grandest scale of storytelling I've seen for as long as I can remember right now. Amazing!

    When Henry went down I expected a kiss from Emma to be the only thing that could save him.  I did not expect that kiss to break the spell.  I thought that one was going to be a hold out for several seasons.  Cool!  Hands down my favorite aspect of the ep was Jefferson freeing Belle. Loved Malificent and loved the Dragon!

    I really need to find a spell that will prevent the writers from ever being able to type Emma saying anything about being able to spot a liar or having a lie spotting super power in a script ever again!

    The only negative I had for the ep was the omission of Geppetto.  It just seemed to underline my major problem with using the Pinocchio story for August's backstory.  They're not really that important on the canvas (we're just told they are) they were just pulled out of thin air for August's ep and they've gone back into the drawer.  They weren't even important enough to appear in the montage as the spell spread over the land.

    Very well put. Regina needs someone who loves her unconditionally in her life. If she had that again, I think something would slowly start to change within her. It was very well done how they showed her deep love for Henry in this episode. If it comes down to it. she will put him first. It was contrasted nicely with Mr. Gold in this episode. But next season could be different again. Gold will be out for her blood and now he knows Henry is her weakness. That's potential for great conflict. Regina will most likely turn to magic again to protect herself and Henry, but Henry would probably want her to turn away from magic to show that she's changed. Should be interesting. I hope they continue with Regina and Emma as frenemies too. They have reason to hate each other, but even more reason to hate Gold who tricked them both and was willing to let Henry die.

They probably thought it would be too similar if both of their "bad guys" had their sons in their lives and their love for them was the weak spot the other would try to attack.

    Its not "magicless" magic was just finite, existing in the things that carried over from FTL.

    I think they are both his mothers. They did a good job showing that they both truly love him. I think the Charming family will try to claim Henry as "theirs" next season and then it would not be just Emma who would raise him, but I hope Regina will be a part of his life again too. I hope Henry will understand what it means that she put him and her love for him over the curse and I would like to see them work on their relationship next season. He shouldn't forgive her everything soon. But I want to see him understand that she truly does love him.

    This was FRICKIN AMAZING!!! - I was worried though when Emma broke the curse because I thought well it can only go down from here - but then Rumplestiltskin unleashed whatever he unleashed - it has to be magic because what else would make TEQ/Regina smile so evilly?.
    My question was the same as Emmas though why didn't they go back to the fairytale realm? but I guess this oulw make for better viewing right?.

    Yes although the curse was broken,Rumple pouring the potion down the well just placed a new curse,black magic over Storybrooke,so season 2 will be dealing with that. And now since everyone knows who they are Regina will be getting some pay back.

    Well they can't redeem her in one season, that would just be too much. I think Henry is a crack in her armour though, and there's potential there for her redemption to begin, but I think it's going to be a long road and she's going to make a lot more mistakes along the way. It's much more satisfying that way anyway. It's like the writers said about Emma believing: we want to earn it.

    Except that it seems like with or without Bell, Mr. Gold had a plan...Regina looks out Henry's window and SMILES when she sees 'magic' invading the town...So I am not sure how effective Bell was to Gold just yet...but it's hard to see through either Regina or Mr. Gold, their both SO emotional! XD

    I slightly disagree because, even though Regina takes care of thim (feeds, clothes him, makes surr he goes to school, and hasn't intentionally physically hurt Henry, but EMOTIONALLY she has. He knows the truth about whom she really is, and what she has really done. And continuously she has hurt his grandparents, and has hurt Emma (Graham). 

    It's true Emma has to learn to be a better parent, but the truth is ALL OF THEM DO, as this is the cause of everything and is highly thematic to the series.

    I am not sure if the curse it broken...Emma says, if the curse is broken, then way didn't they return [home]? --Whether there is a series of curses (or spells), or several phases to the curse, or ramifications to breaking the curse, it's unclear, but I think that will be half the fun next season, because clearly one thing leads to another...XD

    Clearly to bring Malefacent with them (?) and for Regina to bring the heart boxes and some other items, seem to suggest that they both know things that the other doesn't about creating this whole situation, but by the end of it, it seems Gold has the upper hand, but like you said there's Jefferson's actions of releasing Belle, and Regina's smile that makes everything so uncertain in terms of the power plays LOL!

And Yay i'm so happy Emma can"see all" now.I wasn't quite sure if she was going to remember just by kissing Henry,so when she did remember by touching the book i realized it had to be a combination of Henry,and the book..I loved how she stood up and threatened Regina,but i had to laugh when Emma was coming up with the egg and Gold told her to throw it and that he would wait for her.Of course hes gone when she gets up,ha i thought that's our girl,still willing to trust....when will she learn,lol.....

    I didn't see everything,i was in and out of the room a few times,usually i don't do that,but it happens..so i missed the the truck completely,but did think of Alias when unlocking the door,and the elevator lights,love when they have shots out and nods to these shows,great stuff!

    So,i'm not sure about some things,Is the potion that Mr.Gold poured down the well just magic,or could it be both magic and a curse if he desires,reason being as the thinug that came out of the well was purple,and stayed purple as it washed over everyone,but i'm sure i saw it turning black around Mr.Gold....so i'm not quite sure what to make of it?   :)

    I think a wooden August will be alive since everyone realized their true persona, and that magic is now back in Storybrooke, August will be alive as well, but as a wooden puppet. Would be weird to see a grown up wooden puppet.. 

    But do know, magic can make everything happen. I think the writers have one trick up their sleeve to make August magically come back if he's truly dead as wood *pun intended*..

    If Jefferson doesn't have it in him to kill someone that he hates and has good reason to hate! i really don't see how you think it's possible he could poison a innocent child who is also friends with his daughter... duh... It's been well hinted at that Jefferson is a VERY passive individual. Plus, Regina has done a lot more than kill her father. She killed her husband who she admitted was a kind man and then framed a man she seduced to love her for it. Tricked Jefferson into helping her only to leave him trapped away from his daughter. Tricked Hansel and Gretel and trapped them from there father. Shall I continue or are people going to realize that while Regina finds her self feeling love when she feels lost and like she's losing control (like for Daniel while she was up against her mother and for Henry while she was up against Emma) but really she is a very sadistic person. Not only does she like to hurt people but in the worst ways she can, like keeping them from the people they love most. She attaches and obsesses.

    What I to speculate on is whether Our World people can make it into this Storybrooke/FairyTale amalgam and if so, what happens.  Emma could play a big role in keeping things hush-hush since she's lived in our world.  It could be similar to Harry Potter.  You have magic folks trying to hide the magic from ordinary folks.

    OR, also similar to Harry Potter, the war that is bound to happen could spill over into our world and other worlds.  They could really go nuts with the possibilities, especially since they have established a multiverse situation.

    Lots of possibilities.  It's clear, too, that we will see the backstory of "taking back the kingdom" in depth, we'll see more flashbacks with new fairy tale characters, etc.  Fun awaits!  Do it right, writers!

    it was Ok I guess, it was predictable that Henry wasn't going to die for real and the promo already said the 'magic's coming' part. No big surprises there
    I'm just not so sure about next season on what could be the possibility. The curse kind of was *the* meaning of the show

    No real surprise in the episode, we knew from the promo about the cliffhanger and it was pretty obvious Henry wasn't going to die. I would've voted less if it wasn't for the dragon scene that was pretty cool

    Emma is Magical due to Rumpel's plan. So her kissing Graham broke the curse for him only. The problem was Regina killed his heart so he could not tell Emma anything.

    Regina is seeking love but she is not capable of giving it.
    She think she love Henry but she doesn't love him, she wants him to love her.
    She wouldn't do what Emma was going to do: leave Henry so he can be happy.

    In episode #102, Rumpel told her "for the dark curse to work, you have to sacrifice a heart."
    I think, symbolically,  it was her heart (her capacity to love) that she sacrificed the day she took "the heart of the thing she love most": her father.

    Malificent warned her about the dark curse :
    "It will leave an emptiness inside you... A void you will never be able to fill." #102


    Evil queen: "Since when do I care about anyone else's happiness but mine?" #102

    Yes. She is a great vilain. I feel for her too. Her tears in the hospital were genuine.
    She want to be loved, but she is incapable to love. That's her tragedy

    I bet that,  in season two, she is going to revert to the evil queen we saw in episode #102 when she told malificent that "love is a weakness"

    Season one was awesome. You can sense that the writers had the all story in mind from day one. I hope the show will be able to do that again next season.

    I feel bad for Regina too but I don't think she love Henry.
    Regina is seeking love but she is not capable of giving it.(see my answer to DarthLocke4 about that)I wonder about August too. His final transformation was well done.

    Everything just perfectly fell in place. Henry is alive, Emma believe, everybody remember, the queen has lost, I was like ok now what?

    And then ... Rumpleskin !!! I didn't saw it coming. I really believed  he wanted to find his son but no, all this time he wanted one thing: power.
    Rumple Dearie, you are a genius with your magnificent schemes but you are also a fool. You're making the same mistake again.

    Fortunately for her, Regina has her magic back too, because all the town is against her and rumpleskin will want revenge.

    the juxtaposition of father and daughter fights again the dragon was perfect.
    I won't say a word about the symbolism of the father putting his egg in the belly of the beast, not a word
    :-D

    The mad hater is a great character and the actor steal the show every time he is on screen. More if him please?

    I'm curious to see how season two will unfold.

    What a good clifhanger. What a perfect finale! Bravo!

    I don't think we know the terms or conditions of everything, so even though the season ended on this much needed note of happiness, there is also an eerie sense of darkness to not knowing what Mr. Gold has had planned. We don't know for sure if the curse is completely broken and/or if this is a second stage to the cures, but what ever comes next, it leaves everything up in the air and so I don't think it was that predictable, since we really don't know what's happening now.

    Some of what you propose is what I was expecting to be explored over the course of season two.  I had similar but slightly different expectations for this episode.  I expected the final moment of the season would be Emma believing and season two would be spent figuring out how to break the curse for everyone else in town.

    They've dumbed down Emma's character considerably from the pilot but I don't think she'd be dumb enough to broadcast a belief about the spell to people know still didn't remember.

    I'm not sure why the broke the spell so quickly and in this episode.  They may say this was always planned but they won't get me to believe it because of several of your examples.  Those elements could have, as you say, been laid in over a few episodes building to this but they didn't.   They crammed it all into one ep and it felt rushed.

    With the exception of Jefferson.  He's the only parent on this show that has staunchly put his child first.  Her well being has always been his primary concern.   You're right, just about every other parent (even the ones who love their children) have put their needs or concerns before their children.

    Okay, thanks for clearing that up. I watched the episode again and I saw where I got confused because when henry's heart machine started to beep more and everyone was rushing to him and then the camera went to the Mad Hatter who was carrying the cup, I thought he had come out of henry's room but oh well my mistake. Thanks again for clearing that up.

    Well, when you mention Snow's father/ Regina's husband, I think that although he was a kind man, Regina was forced to marry him, which I can understand for her hating him. And the reason why she keeps everyone from having their own happy endings is because her happy ending was taken away from her. I also predict that she will kill her mother, Cora, in the second season because I think she is going after everyone who was involved with Daniel's death. And one more point/prediction , although I love Regina and her story so much more than the others, I think it would be corny and boring for the show if Regina did find a new happy ending because her story is a tragedy and most tragedies do not have happy endings but that is what makes her story so great. The tragic stories are usually better and more interesting than the happily ever after ones.

    These are two different kind of shows, you can't compare. Plus, Castle had a four-year build-up to this finale... OUAT is a new show, they still have a few great finales in store, imo.

    I agree that many storylines were predictable, but they always find a way to surprise me with how it happens. And they did surprise me at times. Red being the big bad wolf? Never saw it coming. Sidney being the genie before the mirror? Neither. I didn't know Graham was the huntsman. They surprised me with Charming's backstory. And there's still a lot of mysteries. We don't know who Dr. Whale is, the queen of hearts, we don't know what happened to Regina's mother, etc.
