  1. It was awesome, but SO many cliffhangers . . .

  2. Well, the cat is out of the bag isn't it. ;)
An interesting twist in the end.
Luckily, we will find out soon what happens in August.

  3. Another awesome finale.. and along with H50, another one that ends with "Mom?" being uttered.... really great to see Nick bring the heat and some good fighting skills to the table (although I kinda wish we could've seen him training.. but that might be much) and give the Kimura beast a solid butt whooping before Momma Grimm unleashed the coup de grace... .Looking forward to seeing why she's alive and why she's hidden herself from Nick for (don't recall how old he was when his parents "died") enough years that he didn't recognize her.... We didn't get much development with the Capt's agenda, but introducing momma Grimm is a cool development as she can teach Nick alot of things about the Grimm life, and perhaps he can teach her things, like not all Wessen are bad (if she didn't know that already)... but with the Hank, Juliett, and now momma Grimm cliffhangers, I really am looking forward to S2....

  4. Poor Juliette I wonder what she is going to be turned into? I loved this twist Nick's Mom was not dead! I loved how good she is. Now there is 2 grimms! Awesome!

  5. Overall for me this was just a good episode that had some great elements...

I liked the Akira Kimura's rampage looking for the coins... I liked  Adalind  trying to poison Juliette.... I liked Hank dealing with seeing his first Wessen, and I liked the mysterious Woman in Black too.... but I did not like them all in the same episode. I would have preferred that a single arc would have been finalized than 3 or 4 arcs end on cliffhangers. IT just felt too busy to me and what could have been 3 delicious meals on their own became a sampler platter of 3 half-baked snacks.Plus with so much going on what could have been a very interesting arc of the mysterious Woman in Black became ab obvious plot . When She pulled up her cowl and Nick had that feeling to glance in her direction I basically knew that the Woman in Black was Nick's mom. I  wish they would have left the reveal until next year... left episode wondering all off-season and then started the Season 2 premiere with Nick saying "Mom?"

I did wonder why the NY ex-cop private investigator tried to get more out of Kimura though. I think it is generally a bad idea to ask for something more from a guy that comes off as Yakuza... never mind the fact he is Wessen and likes to gnaw on necks! XD

I guess his really felt like part 1 of a two-parter to me. No one of the individual arc developments felt finale-like to me.

  6. I am not too sure on what to think on Juliette opening her eyes.

On one hand it might be because of what Adalind did and what Adalind wants.
On other hand it might be a side reaction Adalind did not guess would happen. We did see that there's something fishy about Juliette from time to time.

Hank on other hand is going paranoid. Hopefully he gets stuff explained to him and recovers. The very fact that he has no idea on what the hell did he see is what is driving him crazy.

overall a GREAT finale. Can't wait for S2.

  7. A few years ago there were 2 maybe 3 series who buried people alive.  This season is the season for mother's returning from the grave.

I knew Hanks wasn't gonna do well with what he saw.

I was totally with Juliette on the 'Let's drive Nick to the psychiatric hospital now.'  Apparently, when he first mentioned that he was thinking about telling Juliette he didn't rehearse his speech.  Because he was rambling and talking faster and faster and sounding nuttier and nuttier.

But Nick finally figured out how to turn on the Grimm fighter!  Whoooo hooooo!

Given that Juliette's eyes when huge like the cat's did (did it look like the cat's tongue was glowing yellow to anyone else?)  I'm guessing she's either a carrier (i.e. a weapon to attack Nick) or she's gonna rampage and attack everyone.  Hopefully Nick dropped he left over milk off a the apothecary before going to his house.

Great episode.  Lots of cool stuff to pick up with next season  and I'm looking forward to it!

  8. My gosh!! a lot of stuff happening there! and everything was left unresolved! but at least we know that season 2 is a go, so urgh, just have to wait.

Okay, first: Nick's mom is awesome, she could give Buffy a run for her money. It seems that Grimms have preternatural fighting abilities, Nick beat down Morita pretty damn easily, he didn't even faze when he smashed the window.

Will Nick have to fight Juliette on the season opener? If the hostility in the cat after the infection happens to Jules as well, she might go rampagey, hopefully Mom will help him save her :(

  10. Okay, so how did Aunt Marie get to be a Grimm? This better not be like Buffy where if you die (even for a few minutes) the next in line gets tapped regardless.

  11. I think because they are bringing it back so soon they felt that is was OK to basically just start season two in the finale without any resolutions to any of the main arcs. I'm fairly sure that within the first four episodes or so a lot things will be explained/wrapped up and then we get into high intrigue. I wonder why Akira didn't recognize the Captain as a member of one of the royal houses? I knew something drastic would happen to Juliette. At least Hank is still around (for now). Rosalie is back (hooray, I was getting worried). Rosalie's shop is going to be like the Magic shop on Buffy, excited about that. I had the feeling when I read the synopsis that The Woman in Black would be Nick's mom. It gave me that H50 feeling to. But we've suspected Shellbourne being his mom since day one, this one came out of left field with no build up.

Well that was.....underwhelming.  Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio was interesting doing her best to recreate her Maid Marion fight sequence from Robin Hood Prince of Thieves.  I guess it was entertaining but don't tell me I'm the only one that saw the whole mom thing coming from a mile away.  It was good to see Adelind again but come on!.... Juliette passing out JUST as Munroe transforms?  Holly shades of Smallville!  Its a good thing nobody ever remembered seeing Clark use his powers for 7 plus years.  His secret is safe!  Give me a break.  Cheap, lazy writing.  I know NBC hasn't exactly been hitting it out of the park these last couple of years but they're a respectable network.  To use a worn out plot device that stoops to CW levels?  Now that's just undignified.  They can do better than that.

  13. I love the magic shop aspect of Rosalie's too!

You're probably right. Things had been building nicely and I felt this episode kept moving everything forward, but did not finish anything... but since it starts again in August they have some great starting points to work from.

I did wonder how Captain Renard as the region's royalty too. They really never have explained how much power these royals have or how well known they are either I guess. Maybe it's like our political system where many of the masses might recognize the President, but would walk right past the local mayor or governor?

I agree about H50.. that was expected by most I think.
This was out of left field for sure, but it all just gelled in this episode and made sense to me. She seemed to stalk Kimura like a Grimm and the age was right. I'd guess that Nick's mom will not be around long. They will have their bonding moment and she will reveal some vital bits of information and then sacrifice herself to save Nick.

  14. mmm as long as dear Mum doesn't try to mess with Monroe...or Rosalie...or the nice Beavers or...u get my drift, she's welcome, but i have to offer a huge ouch of sympathy for poor Juliett who'll wake up and meet 'HER' as her in laws *snort* that's gonna be...awkward :D

  15. oh yeah Nick is so so NOT good at this explanation thing. the whole half incoherent ramble made me wince :D

    ReplyDelete
  16. nah, i'm under the impression that everyone in the line are Grimms (Nick's maternal line i mean and no idea if both his grandparents on his mother's side were Grimm or only one of them...but, yeah, his kids are gonna be Grimms as well. it's hereditary like brown eyes ors m)

    ReplyDelete
  17. Yes, I am very very curious about what is going to happen.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Yes,they have the potential to be Grimms AFTER Nick dies or at least that's what Aunt Marie implied. I'm just confused. We don't know if Aunt Marie was older or younger but I would assume it would go from eldest to youngest.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I wondered about that too.  I hope they explain!    (At this point I'm going with the Buffy theory.)

    ReplyDelete
  20. And well, Nick's Grimm-vision did start kicking in while Marie was still alive.  Maybe Mom was only Mostly Dead.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Yeah.  I was wondering about what she'd think of Nick's approach  to being a Grimm.  I don't think she's going to be able change Nick's attitude/approach but I think she may try.

As for Juliette.  I'm beginning to worry (believe) they're going to wuss out on her finding out about Nick.  I will not be surprised if, after Juliette is rescued from Adalind's spell that she'll have amnesia and conveniently not remember any of that conversation with Nick.

  22. I don't know if they will. I mean we still don't even REALLY know the deal about the Captain or what's really up with Juliette (during that dinner, it just seemed like she too smug or something). But fingers crossed!

  23. Wow, awesome. I like to see Nick's inner Grimm. And Nick's Mom is not dead. Happy that we have a season 2.
