Existing Shows

Wow I think I cancelled nearly every show apart from Revolution and Do No Harm :(
ReplyDeleteI have high hopes for Revolution.I mean,ERIK KRIPKE&JJ ABRAMS,guys!
ReplyDeleteI cancelled everything but Revolution, Community, and Parks & Rec. Here's hoping at least Community and Parks & Rec can survive, and if they can bring on as many of the others for renewal as well.
ReplyDeletethe new ones only two save revolution and chicago fire series the top best grimm and s.v.u (LAW & ORDER)
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with you on that. couldnt get a better pair. it will be AWSOME!!
ReplyDeleteWow I renewed only a couple of them : Community, Parks and rec, Grimm and from the new ones only Revolution, but maybe Animal Practice will manage to survive
ReplyDeleteIts really hard to decide for new shows.. I voted renew for those shows I want to be good and I want to survive, but until I see them it's really a stab in the dark. The released trailers & clips can look interesting (Revolution) or dull (Chicago Fire) but they are unlikely to be an accurate representation the finished product. Certainly I would expect CF to be better than the dull clip anyway.
ReplyDeleteCancelled nearly everything. But then this is NBC. I find it difficult to be completely unbiased when voting on Community and P&R. Most likely my hopes will not jell with exec decisions, I fear.
ReplyDeletei renewed most existing shows & Revolution, Next caller, Go On, Chicago fire, the new normal..
ReplyDeleteI cancelled nearly all the new shows except for Revolution.
ReplyDeleteAnother me too,Flash! :) those fingers,maybe i should call you lighting? :P
ReplyDeleteI cancelled all except for Revolution and Chicago Fire.
ReplyDeleteI can only read the comments by sweeping over them. Same for everyone? Anyway, I renewed Community, Parks and Rec, Chicago Fire, Animal Practice (looks cute), Smash, Grimm, Revolution, and Do No Harm (love Phylicia Rashad).
ReplyDeleteCancelled Go On (please, Matthew Perry, turn to drama. So good on The Good Wife), Whitney, and 1600 Penn (looks incredibly stupid).
I agree i love Perry when he does drama. The first time i saw him acting in a dramatic role was in West Wing,he blew me away! must admit although i didn't watch Friends on a regular bias i only saw him in that role, funny yes but hes so much better in drama, imo anyway!
ReplyDeleteCancelled all the new shows except Revolution and Chicago Fire(cause I'm planning on watching them)
ReplyDeleteCancelled all the old shows except Parks, Community and Grimm(cause I'm bitchy in the morning)
Kept Revolution, Hannibal, The New Normal, Chicago Fire, Community, Grimm, Law and Order, Parenthood, Parks and Rec; and cancelled the rest.
ReplyDeleteWell, i cancelled every show exept chicago fire, revolution and go on...
ReplyDeleteI actually think Community and Parks will be renewed, the first one etting a back 9... NBC must understand that his shows just can't compete in the same league as abc or cbs... Community, for example, already has a loyal fanbase. You can be certain it get +3 millons viewers and a +1.0 no matter what. I actually believe the being moved to fridays will make the show have better ratings, beacause i know plenety of people that watch tbbt and community and they have to choose.
I believe the new shows don't do what nbc expect them to do, so they are going to cancell all o them and put their old shows back, thoose being parks and community...
renewed:
ReplyDeleteRevolution:
This one is going to be a hit, no doubt about it.
Hannibal:
13 episodes already ordered. Not sure it will work but I will give that one a try because "silence of the lambs" is one of my favorites movies :-)
Chicago Fire:
I will not watch it but I think that show will find his audience. Who doesn't like hot boys in firefighters uniforms? ;-)
Grimm:
Do not watch but ratings seems ok and the show has already his fanbase
Parenthood/ Law and order:
Never watched it but renewed it because I foresee a lot of cancelled shows. NBC has to keep some of them.
All others cancelled.
Grimm fantastic show. I haven't watched any of the others.
ReplyDeleteI have doubts concerning Community and Parks&Rec.
ReplyDeleteI do not watch those shows, but they were very close to be cancelled this year already, werent they?
:-/
Renewed for 2013/2014 :
ReplyDelete- The Office : for a final season - with 30 Rock probably ending, NBC won't let that show end next season.- Parks and Recreation : the future cornerstone of Thursday nights in 2014 if treated properly.- Parenthood : performs alright, doesn't involve cops/doctors and it isn't too high profile, you gotta have one.- Grimm : Community will be a better lead-in than Who do you think and the ratings were stable this season.- Smash : not a sure thing at all, it depends if it its lead-in is The Voice, and if it is it will be renewed.- L&O SVU : the show may be at its lowest but NBC isn't ready to part with that handy procedural.- Up All Night : 30 Rock proved it from January to March, it is a crappier lead-in than Community. Plus, like 30 Rock and Community, it has been renewed for only 13 episodes. BUT it's worth pointing out that both Up All Night and 30 Rock are produced by Lorne "SNL" Michaels, so cancelling both of his sitcoms wouldn't be wise. 30 Rock is ending, you combine that with the possible demise of the greatest comedy on TV (Community) and the probable end of The Office in 2014 and you have Up All Night season 3.- Infamous : I say 'renewed' if it airs on Sundays nights after The Apprentice at midseason (my guess), it could work. People got into Revenge, why shouldn't they get into this one if it has a good lead-in ?
- Chicago Fire : judging by the clips, women will love it. It doesn't seem original at all, but there aren't firemen shows out there right now, so NBC might keep it around, but I don't think it will be a hit at all.
- The New Normal : it seems awful but it's from Ryan Murphy and it features gay guys, it will get renewed.
- Animal Practice : it seems unrealistic, but with 30 Rock + Community (it seems cut from the same cloth based on the two clips posted yesterday) not on the schedule in 2013/2014 and with NBC not pick up keep only 1 of their 7 new sitcoms to season 2, they will want to keep this one around.
Cancelled in May 2013 or before :
- 30 Rock : they denied it, but I'm sure that 30 Rock will end after season 7 no matter what. Oh, wait, and now it's reconfirmed that it definitely is the last season.
- Community : you know me (or maybe you don't, in which case, you're missing out), I love Community so much. But I feel like this is it, that kind of show (= a unique, creative and cult gem) cannot last 6 seasons. I hope NBC makes things right by notifying the writers and by giving the show a back 11.
- Whitney : *barf*
- Revolution : I want the show to succeed, and thanks to The Voice, the first part of the season will have good ratings, but they will fall week after week until the point when NBC realizes Smash (midseason) is more compatible (even though the ratings of this season prove it wasn't a smashing hit either). I fear this kind of show is not meant to last.
- Go On : Might get a full season but won't perform as good as its post The Voice slot will demand, I think NBC will switch it with The New Normal (scheduled at 9:30) after a few weeks.
- Do Not Harm : I predict a massive flop. I like Steven Pasquale, but this seems kind of cheap.
- Hammibal : it's already dead.
- Save Me, 1600 Penn, Next Caller and Guys with Kids : cancelled within a few weeks.
If you don't like to read :
Renewed : The Office, Parks and Rec, Up All Night (sadly), L&O SVU, Grimm, Smash, Parenthood, Infamous, Chicago Fire, The New Normal and Animal Practice.
Cancelled : 30 Rock, Community (sadly), Shitney, plus Revolution (sadly ?) and Go On (after a full season) and Do Not Harm, Hammibal, Guys with Kids, Save Me, 1600 Penn & Next Caller (after a few eps).
Out of the new shows: I voted renew for Revolution and even though it doesn't appeal to me at this point - Chicago Fire, as it seems to have the attention of the female demo.. as for the returning shows: my votes went to my faves: Community, Precs, and Grimm. I don't watch it, but I'll guess that SVU will be back with the prospect that most of the other new NBC dramas/shows wont make it.
ReplyDeleteAll of the new shows will be cancelled apart from Hannibal which I kind of get the impression they really want to make work and possibly Revolution for the same reasons. As for the old shows well if all of the new ones do fail then it works in favour of low rated ones like Parks.
ReplyDeleteWow! I think I cancelled all the new shows except Revolution! And I renewed Community of course, Smash and Parks and Rec.
ReplyDeleteI cancelled all the new shows except for Revolution and Chicago Fire.
ReplyDeleteI cancelled about everything. I only renewed Grimm and Law & Order. And the last only because it's one of my mother's favourite
ReplyDeleteI am really looking forward to Revolution and Chicago Fire. Those are really the only 2 I know for a fact I'm going to watch (maybe Do No Harm). However I'm worried about Revolution. History shows that show's with its sort of world changing premise (The Event & Flashforward) don't survive. I'm hoping it can pull through though. My only complaint about Chicago Fire is originality. 1600 Penn and Next Caller look mildly entertaining (see Free Agents). Overall I think 1 or 2 drama's will survive and I can't see any , maybe 1, comedies surviving. This is going to be an interesting season of TV.
ReplyDeleteNot that the powers that be listen to moi, but Im going to give a look at Revolution and Chicago Fire and then stick to my old favourites Grimm, Community and Parks. Apart from that looks like I have a little more time on my hands next year?
ReplyDeleteNBC is in such a dire position. I found myself canceling most of the new shows and renewing most of the old ones. I mean, that sort of seems to be the trend with them.
ReplyDeleteThe only two new programs I voted "renew" for was Animal Practice and Chicago Fire.
ReplyDeleteRenewed:
ReplyDelete- Animal Practice
- Revolution
Cancelled:
- 1600 Penn
- Go On
- Guys With Kids
- Save Me
- The New Normal
Unsure, but leaning toward cancelled:
- Chicago Fire
- Do No Harm
- Hannibal
- Infamous
Overall this is not a bumper crop of new shows, but hopefully some will surprise me.
I voted cancel on community, I want it to be renewed but it won't be. But it was interested 130 votes cancel (including mine) 129 renew...
ReplyDeleteYes Community and Parks & Rec were bubble shows this year. But with all the buzz that happened for Community both online and in protests about it being pulled off the schedule, not to mention all the "Best Show" competitions it won online, it would've been stupid of NBC not to renew it this year.
ReplyDeleteWhat Community has going for it is a persistent and committed fan base, much like Chuck, and in the midst of other shows that continue to lose their viewers, Community keeps steady. So I think NBC is foolish to do anything with the show since it is one of the few shows on the network that I know of that has a fan base like this (like Chuck did).
Whitney better get cancelled halfway through the season. I thought NBC was trying to improve its image...
ReplyDeleteNow I follow only Grimm and occasionally SVU.
ReplyDeleteNew show, I've renewed Chicago Fire and cancelled all the new comedy.I haven't watched NBC's established comedy, but they seem to have a strong fanbase.
Chances are the drama series will get the full season, after that it's anyone's guess.
Got one show wrong. Pretty accurate if I might say it.. looking forward to Chicago Fire..
ReplyDeleteI picked more what I think will happen than what I hope will happen with most shows.
ReplyDeleteI am honestly most clueless about NBC. I only watch Community & Grimm on NBC. And fairly certain Community will get cancelled after next year. I have no clue about any of their new shows. The old comedies seem really bad and stale imo. If they were smart, they would've already canceled most of their shows, including The Office & the like, and give only short 13-episode orders for everything. Basically, see what works.
ReplyDeleteDrastic idea, but NBC should renew only Grimm and get rid of everything else. Start over. Find something that does what Grimm does, which is perform strongly for their timeslot.
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling a few of these will succeed this year. Not necessarily be hits, but be strong enough to get a second season from NBC...
ReplyDeleteRenewed:
Revolution
Animal Practice
Possibly renewed despite me thinking their terrible:
Chicago Fire
Do No Harm
Cancelled:
Every other new series although I would not be shocked if NBC keeps one or two more sitcoms around as mid-season replacements with their aging (and just not funny) crop of current sitcoms.
I cancelled all except for Revolution and Chicago Fire.
ReplyDeleteedit- i didn't cancel Grimm. Okay i put Big Bang by mistake yet no one brought to my attention.Everyone must be sleeping this morning, like me!
I cancelled about everything. I only renewed Grimm and Law & Order. And the last only because it's one of my mother's favourite
