Is that the beak of Ciaran Hinds I spy? Indeed it is!
Sadly that is not enough to make me check this one out. I can't imagine an edgy drama being done properly on USA Network... and not to mention it seems to have a lot of mockumentary style to it if the promo is any indication.
Sebastian Stan and Sigourney Weaver? I am definitely interested to see them. Unfortunately I usually don't like politics as TV show setting, but for them I will probably still check this out.
I'm skeptical that USA can pull off edgy, highbrow drama but summer TV isn't nearly as demanding on my viewing schedule so I'm sure I'll have the opportunity to check out an episode or two.
Have you ever watched "Deadliest Catch" on Discovery Channel? It's a docu-reality series about crab fishermen in Alaska and one of the captain's family has been fishing since they came from Norway 2 or 3 generations ago. Anyway.... Their family saying that their dad always used to say and now they say to the crew a lot is..
"There's the right way, the wrong way, and the Nor-way."
I think of that every time I see your name! XD Long story for little payoff but I had to share....
That was so random. That was more random than the police outside my apartment rapping some ryhmes.
Political Animals looks wildly off-brand i might say. And therefore it might be good for people who dont like USA Network shows. I like a few of them, Burn Notice, Suits and Common Law (everything else i dont like, or just hate now).
As far as I know, Political Animals is a six-episode limited series. I imagine that if it does well enough, USA may try to stretch it into a full-time series. It's the same approach they took with The Starter Wife (starring Debra Messing) a few years ago.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

Not for me.

ReplyDeleteI think they sold me on this....
ReplyDeleteYeah they had me at Sebastian Stan. I'm in.
ReplyDeleteHater. Give USA a chance first.
ReplyDeleteNot sure about this..

I'm the same way with their series. I like Burn Notice, but it is showing its age these last couple years.
ReplyDeleteI do find Suits to be a bit different though. It always felt like it should be a TNT network show to me more than USA Network.
If they can make a show like Political Animals work it would be great because it is off-brand like you say!
is it a mini series or a tv movie or a series?

ReplyDeleteok. the promo was NOT clear about that!
