ringer and the secret circle are cancelled but 90210 is still on the air!? they could have kept one of the shows if the got rid of it being it's been on for a few seasons and isn't doing that well.
Missing was said to have a complete story within the 10 episodes; but they never said it was a mini series. And The River was a series, not a mini series, it was never meant to be one, and season 1 even ended with a cliffhanger.
Nooooo....... I don't care about Pan Am or the River, but Missing was really good. Surprisingly high quality TV for an American show. Well, the premise wasn't made to be draggged on forever, but I had hoped for two or three full seasons.
I guess we've seen that story already. Isn't Missing just a rehash of Kidnapped (a few years old show now, but with one season only from what I remember) with Dana Delany? I won't judge until I'll watch, but just saying...
Not really. Missing is very much focussed on the female main character, who hunts the kidnapper of her son and uncovers some truth along the way, and her kidnapped son who is suddenly pulled into the world of spies and double agents. But even if it were, that doesn't mean that it doesn't pay off to take a look. Missing reminds me very much of a German TV-hit, which aired ten years ago or so, "Eine Frau wird gejagt" (which had exactly the same premise, with the exception that the mother wasn't an ex-operative, but a trophy wife who had no idea what her husband was involved in - which made the whole thing less belivable). But Missing is way better than this one. I'm normally not a fan of those shows where I have to watch every single episode to make sure that I don't miss anything important, but for Missing I made an exception. I especially enjoyed the different locations - Italy, France, Austria, Turkey, Bulgaria....

Well, the premise wasn't made to be draggged on forever, but I had hoped for two or three full seasons. It's too bad...the ratings of Missing weren't THAT bad, and considering that this was a show which didn't stir up a lot of interest before it aired (it only caught my attention because other people were pointing it out to me, while I heard a lot about all the other shows before they even started). With a full season instead of measly ten episode they might have been able to establish a proper fanbase.
Actually, there are...at least Missing is actually very good. With the last episodes, it made it into my top five of my favorite shows currently on air.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Unfortunately, not a surprise. Really hope Netflix picks up The River.
ReplyDeletetoday i lost Ringer, Secret Circle, Harry's Law, Missing
ReplyDeleteNothing I wasn't expecting...
ReplyDeleteSorry, not a good day for you. :(

ReplyDeleteI'm sad for Missing. But they renewed Scandal so...
ReplyDeleteNo surprises here. I had come to really enjoy Pan Am but didn't get too attached. We all knew it wasn't long for the world.
ReplyDelete90210 was doing better than both Ringer and TSC. Shows Like 90210 are Bread and butter to the CW, Ringet and TSC were just huge let downs.
ReplyDeleteNot surprised but I thought Missing and River were meant to work as stand alone mini-series anyway
ReplyDeleteI loved Pan Am. I'm really sad, but I also knew it was coming.
ReplyDeleteThe River ended with an interesting cliffhanger. :(
