I don't care about CGI. If character and stories are good........enough for me. Better CGI means mucho more $$$$ and if rating are not incredible awesome....they would cancel the show. So....CGI is not important for me
I hate the fairies. They act all moral and superior and seem as if they want to help the good guys, but what the heck were they doing that they couldn't help Regina or Rumpelstiltskin before life screwed them over?
I agree about Wonderland. The magical fight scene with Maleficent at the beginning of the season was very poor also. The show also needs to do something about the fairy scenes as well.
The better the CGI, the more money it costs, no doubt about that. TV shows will never have the budget for better quality CGI. Looks a Lost, for example, most succesful show in years, yet CGI scenes were dreadful to look at, i.e. the smoke monster, submarine, etc.
Flippin' heck... Fairies attack! Like a swarm of bees or wasps... I think they just pretend to be all little and nice, they probably have a poisonous sting hidden somewhere lol
Well figures Blue Fairy is in on this...she has been in everything else after all...
Wanna bet that after this all is over she leaves a note for Grumpy or snow with "P.S. the price of my help is this, this and this. Forgot to mention it beforehand. Bye~"
I agree with you... poor CGI can be really disturbing to the viewer. I still have chills from the explosion scene from Chuck, the one where his childhood home gets blown up. I had to shut my eyes everytime I watched the episode.
Submarines in Lost seldom appeared, and they only looked dreadful when in motion. (You can count the number of times this occurred on one hand.) Even then they didn't always look dreadful. Widmore's sinking sub during "The Candidate" looked fine.
"Once" is like if you took the worst CGI shots from Lost, turned them into full scenes, and put them into every episode. If I had to see the Galaga (DHARMA Initiative submarine) like it was shown in "The Incident" during every episode of Lost, I'd have to write Damon and Carlton a letter.
I agree. I kind of think they can get away with bad cgi because it's fairy tale land...it adds an element that even more fantastic, because it's so anti-realism.
Nerwen Aldarion said the same thing and I just realized why I didn't even notice. For me, faires are SUPPOSED to sound like that. It's what I expect so it didn't stand out. :-)
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Oh yes, GO SNOW¡
ReplyDeleteThis looks so exciting!!
ReplyDeleteThat was pretty awesome! Loved the flaming arrows and the fairy attack.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, but when a bunch of faeries started to attack I laughed my ass off. I couldn't help it.
ReplyDeleteThis show is going to have to work on improving some of its CGI during the hiatus.

ReplyDeleteIf CGI is bad enough to take a viewer out of a story, even momentarily, then it does matter.
ReplyDelete"Better CGI means mucho more $$$$"
Not necessarily.
"I miss Stealthy." Hahaha!

I totally agree. Some of the CGI has been beautiful, but the Wonderland ep was a great let down for me CGI wise.
ReplyDelete"I miss Stealthy."
ReplyDeleteWas it the dresses? (I really hate those costumes. :-D )
ReplyDeleteOh my... those fairies looked ridiculous! Why can't this show have better CGI? SGU did it very well and on a budget!
ReplyDeleteActually it was the fact that they sounded like bumblebees for me hehehe
ReplyDeleteI agree about Wonderland. The magical fight scene with Maleficent at the beginning of the season was very poor also. The show also needs to do something about the fairy scenes as well.
ReplyDeleteThis looks amazing
ReplyDeleteWow!!!Snow is such a bad ass!!
ReplyDeleteTalk about coordination!

ReplyDeleteHonestly, I don't mind Keegan in that Blue Fairy dress she wears. She might just put Regina to shame.
ReplyDeleteOMG!!! This looks epic!
ReplyDeleteThe flaming arrows were awesome... but I actually may have laughed so hard I snorted when the fairies attacked... yikes.
ReplyDeleteWOO, Snow kicking ass? Love it! This scene could possibly be the most action-packed scene in the show so far; looks so great.
ReplyDeleteOH NO! Don't stop there! I was getting to into it...XD
ReplyDeleteFlippin' heck... Fairies attack! Like a swarm of bees or wasps... I think they just pretend to be all little and nice, they probably have a poisonous sting hidden somewhere lol

Is it just me or did the fairies sound like bees...
ReplyDeleteI agree with you... poor CGI can be really disturbing to the viewer. I still have chills from the explosion scene from Chuck, the one where his childhood home gets blown up. I had to shut my eyes everytime I watched the episode.
ReplyDeleteHahahahahahaha.
ReplyDeleteThe CGI is so bad that it is fun. It's like watching an 80's movie.
ReplyDeleteThe dresses are really bad. That was one big WTF moment: shiny fairies in nightgowns sounding like bees attacking a castle.
ReplyDeleteWOOHOO!!! ALRIGHT SNOW!!! Go go go!!!

Looks epic! And it's not even the finale!
ReplyDeleteI have to agree, the CGI in this series is dreadful! And what 95 percent of it is CGI..

ReplyDeleteI would probably run away if I heard that sound. I am terrified of bees XD
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen this big of a mission coming together since Toy Story 3!
