Seems like several sites jumped the gun and mis-reported The Office being renewed. It should be coming, however.

    I'm confused. I was wondering why EW and other sites were reporting a renewal when Deadline and TVLine weren't.

    Here's hoping they'll announce it as the final season.

    I think it`s funny that NBC and The Office might be responsible for Fox`s next sitcom-hit with the Minday Kaling project. If Fox promote it right as they did with New Girl, it could go on to be a at least near as a success as New Girl. Airing it besides New GIrl also helps.

     Deadline (here) is now reporting they're close to renewing it for thirteen episodes, which makes me think final season.
