Thanks to Richard, Darq and Nuno for the heads up.
"Misfits" star Lauren Socha is leaving the popular Channel 4 teen drama and will not return for the fourth season. According to BBC, the BAFTA winner was sentenced to four months in prison after she admitted to racially aggravated assault on a taxi driver.
Channel 4 said in a statement that the arrest and Socha's departure from the series are not related.
"A mutual decision was reached between Clerkenwell [Films, which produces "Misfits"] and Lauren earlier this year that she would not be returning for the fourth series," Channel 4 said in a statement.

ReplyDeleteSo how many of the original Misfits are off the show now....4? XD
ReplyDelete'What? I'm a f**king rocket scientist!' ))
ReplyDeleteMutual decision?
ReplyDeleteSure.
Can't really say I'm sad about the news. She was by far my least favorite character.
ReplyDeleteNow The actor who plays curtis is the only one from the original cast.
ReplyDeleteactualy she was my second favorite character , my best always will be Nathan.
ReplyDeleteShe..kinda creeps me out.
ReplyDeleteHmm, she has a suspended sentence AFAIK so won't be going to jail, but she has to do 80 hours community service...which is ironic lol
ReplyDeleteJust Curtis, but changing casts like this is typical for brit shows lol.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the Jess character is replacing her then -

Seriously?! That's so in character, give her another BAFTA award already. Also, another award for being a foockin rocket scientist! lol
ReplyDeleteNow, really, I hope she gets out sooner and all goes well. I was really looking forward to seeing her in series four! I mean, I love Ruby, he's awesome but not as awesome as Nathan. And now with Alisha and Simon gone, it's gonna be a hell of a weird fourth series.
yep... thats just about the only thing i hate about their tv shows..
ReplyDeleteyeah.. i've given up on being human.. since the last of the org cast is gone... i'd be willing to give it a go if that chick they brought in wasnt such a shitty actor...i will give it a chance.. i just hope the people the picked for the roles can do the job....but i hope if there is another season after this upcoming that they find a way to bring S and A.. back... but i dont think thats going to happen....
ReplyDeleteAre you actually kidding? Stupid yanks...
ReplyDeleteMe too. I watched the first ep of the Being Human series four and haven't given the others a go. Don't feel particularly motivated to either. :/ Oh well.
ReplyDeleteKidding about what? I don't get why you think 'yanks' are stupid :s
ReplyDeleteI think growing up with shows like Doctor Who, Eastenders and Coronation Street on means we're used to cast changes, just about every Brit show over 3/4 series long goes through big shifts in characters. I think any long running show benefits from it, a change is as good as a vacation as they say :)
